With growing significance of psychological well-being in the worksite, the purpose of this analysis was to overview the empirical studies on worksite stress management and to identity the overall effect of worksite health promotion programs on stress management through meta-analysis. Literature retrieval was conducted on-line first in MEDLINE, EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier, and PSYCHINFO databases in public health, psychology, sociology, and human resource management areas. All studies written in English and published in the peer-reviewed journals during 1990 and 2002 were recruited. Key words used in literature retrieval were 'worksite,' 'intervention,' 'program,' 'work stress,' 'strain,' 'burnout,' 'management,' 'prevention,' 'education,' and 'health promotion.' A total of 18 worksite intervention studies with 48 effect sizes were analyzed and the results were as follows. Approximately 60% of the studies had quasi-experimental design and were conducted in manufacturing company and public sector. General psychological strains and burnout were frequently used measures of psychological stress. The lecturing and discussion typed intervention and the participatory problem-solving typed intervention were employed more than others in the studies. The average effect (r: pearson's simple correlation coefficient) weighted by sampling error was -0.14 (-0.32 to 0.05). In the conventional category of effects this is a small effect ranging from -0.59 to 0.05. Binomial effect size showed that success rates increased from 43% without intervention to 57% after an intervention. Sampling error explained 47.14% of the observed variance and its effectiveness on stress management were heterogeneous. In regression analysis with suspected moderating factors affecting the worksite interventions, research design was the only significant moderating factor. The studies with quasi-experimental design had greater effects than the studies with experimental design.

Results: All of the patients studied in the case study showed a decrease in Postpartum Back Pain after treatment compared to before treatment and in the control study, it was found that indices evaluating Postpartum Back Pain after treatment were significantly improved in the experimental group compared to before treatment in the experimental group. It was found that the scores of the relevant indicators were more significantly improved in the experimental group than control group. Conclusions: Korean Medicine Treatment is effective for Postpartum Back Pain. In the future, studies to analyze the specific effects and safety of each Korean Medicine Treatment for postpartum back pain and well-designed studies will be needed to establish the foundation of Korean Medicine Treatment for Postpartum Back Pain.
Forward head posture (FHP) is a musculoskeletal disorder that causes neck pain. Several exercise interventions have been used in South Korea to improve craniovertebral angle (CVA) and relieve neck pain. There has been no domestic literature review study over the past 5 years that has investigated trends and effects of exercise intervention methods for CVA with neck pain. This domestic literature review aimed to evaluate the trends and effects of exercise interventions on CVA and neck pain in persons with FHP. A review of domestic literature published in Korean or English language between 2018 and 2022 was performed. Literature search was conducted on Google Scholar and Korea Citation Index by using the following keywords: "exercise," "exercise therapy," "exercise program," "forward head posture," and "neck pain." Ten studies were included in this review. All of the studies showed positive improvements after intervention programs that included exercises. Notably, four of these studies demonstrated significant differences in results between the experimental and control groups. Among the 10 studies, nine measured visual analogue scale or numerical rating scale scores and reported significant reductions in pain following interventions, including exercise programs. Five of these studies showed significant differences in results between the experimental and control groups. Furthermore, six studies that used neck disability index exhibited a significant decrease in symptoms after implementing intervention programs that included exercise, and significant differences in results were found between the experimental and control groups. This domestic literature review provides consistent evidence to support the application of various exercise intervention programs to improve CVA and relieve neck pain from FHP. Further studies are warranted to review the effects of various exercise interventions on FHP reported not only in domestic but also in international literature.
A major concern in the area of moral education is to find an effective educational method capable of supporting maturity of moral reasoning in young children. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effects of distributive dilemma discussion on children's distributive justice reasoning. The subjects were fifty 5-year-olds selected from a kindergarten in the city of Kumi. 26 children participated in a 10 week discussion intervention; another 24 children constituted the control group. The experimental procedure consisted of 3 parts; a pre-test to determine the experimental and control groups, moral discussions on dilemma situations based on 10 stories for the experimental group, and a post-test for both groups. The moral discussions were audio-taped. The results showed that children in the experimental group used more varied and elaborate distributive justice reasoning as the discussions proceeded. Moral discussions facilitated distributive justice reasoning.
The 90 children in this study were grouped with 30 each in the experimental group, and the 2 comparison groups. Research methods over 8 weeks were in the sequence starting from teacher/assistant teacher education, then pretest, followed by development-adaptation of experimental model of math games, and post-test. The experimental group conducted child-initiated math games, comparison group I children proceeded with teacher-initiated math games, and comparison group II children proceeded with co-initiated math games. Statistical evaluation was by ANOVA and ANCOVA. Findings were that the child-initiated math game group scored higher on children's mathematical ability than the two comparison groups. Boys in the experimental group scored higher on children's mathematical ability than girls.
This study was designed to investigated children's spatial cognitive skills as based on their practice with computer games. The sixty children were divided into 3 groups there were twenty children in experimental group 1 (the geometric game experimental group), twenty children in experimental group 2 (the arcade game experimental group), and twenty children in the control group. The sSpatial cognitive skills of the children were assessed according to by visual speed, mental rotation, and spatial visualization tasks. The rResults showed that computer game practice enhanced the children's spatial skills (visual speed, mental rotation and, spatial visualization). The c Children's mental rotation and spatial visualization showed a significant difference with the type of computer game.
The purpose of this study was to examine how the intervention of a literacy environment influences young children's literacy behavior in dramatic play. Four classrooms at S kindergarten and Y kindergarten in Seoul were randomly selected for this study. Each of the classrooms was designated as an experimental group: that is, experimental group A (38 children), experimental group B (34 children), experimental group C (35 children) and a Control group (40 children), respectively. Group C was provided with literacy materials, theme of dramatic play and teacher's intervention. Group B was provided with literacy materials and theme of dramatic play. Group A was provided with only literacy materials. It was found that the intervention of the literacy environment in dramatic play brought about an increase in children's total literacy behavior, increase in the frequency of children's reading behavior, and increase in the frequency and function of children's writing.
This study investigated whether there are differences in father's involvement in child-rearing and role performance and on mother's parenting stress after fathers' participating in the father's program at kindergarten. Subjects were parents of children enrolled in H kindergarten, 38 fathers (18 experimental group, 20 control groups) and 38 mothers (wives of the experimental and control group fathers). Data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and t-test on the pre-score and post-score. Findings were that : father's participant program at kindergarten affected father's involvement in child-rearing and role performance, and mother's parenting stress reduction : the experimental group father's involvement in child-rearing and role performance was improved more than the control group. Experimental group mothers' parenting stress than that of the control group.
This study investigated the effect of circle activities about disabilities on preservice early childhood teachers' mainstreaming attitudes, teaching efficacy and teaching performance. Subjects were 40 preservice early childhood female teachers(20 each in the experimental and control groups). Experimental group circles met weekly for 4 hours over 24 weeks. Circle activities included viewing and discussing films and readings about disabilities, and observation and participation in mainstreaming classrooms of kindergartens and child welfare centers. Results were that the experimental group preservice teachers' attitudes and efficacy toward mainstreaming were positive in comparison with those of the control group. Experimental group preservice teachers' mainstreaming teaching performance improved by comparison with the control group.
The purposes of this study were to examine the effects of narrative therapy group counseling on children's dysfunctional beliefs and levels of aggression. The subjects were 20 students in grade 5 who had been randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was treated with narrative therapy group counseling. The experiment was performed over 10 sessions for 10 weeks. In order to test the experimental effects, post testswere administered after treatment. The results were analyzed by means of MANOVA. The findings of the study were as follows : Compared to the control group, the experimental group experienced a significant reduction in dysfunctional beliefs and levels of aggression.
