The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the health promotion program to increase the functional status of the in-house stroke patients. The subjects for the experiment are 38 in-house stroke patients in a health center and welfare centers suffering from hemiplegia. The experimental group consists of 19 stroke patients and the control group consists of another 19 stroke patients. The program was applied to the experimental group for 8 weeks. The subjects were given health education at the first week. At the second and the fifth week they were given counselling on health by home visit. At the third, the fourth, the sixth and the seventh week they were interviewed by phone about health, and at the last week they shared their experiences through group meeting. The results of the study are as follows: 1. The degree of ADL in the experimental group increased significantly, compared with that of the control group. 2. In the experimental group the degree of Range of Motion in shoulder abduction, elbow flexion, hip flexion and ankle dorsiflexion increased significantly, compared with that of the control group. 3. In the experimental group the degree of muscle strength in elbow flexion, knee extension, and ankle dorsiflexion increased significantly, compared with that of the control group. 4. Systolic pressure, diastolic pressure in the experimental group decreased significantly, compared with that the control group. 5. HWR in the experimental group didn't decreased significantly, compared with that the control group. 6. The degree of depression in the experimental group decreased significantly, compared with that the control group. 7. The degree of social adaptation in the experimental group increased significantly, compared with that the control group. The results above show that the health promotion program for this study was effective in promoting the performance of lifestyle for health improvement of the in-house stroke patients. Therefore, it is considered that the program can be used as an efficient nursing intervention for the in-house stroke patients who need continuous health-improving behaviors.

Objectives The objective of this study is to develop a taeeumin animal-experimental model induced lung fibrosis with Bleomycin and evaluate the effect on obesity in this animal-experimental model. Methods The subjects were divided into 3 groups : normal group, high fat diet(HFD) control group, and HFD group administered with bleomycin(n=10 per group). To develop taeeumin animal-experimental model with reduced respiratory metabolism, 8-week-old C57BL/6 mice were administered with 0.03ml solution of bleomycin 1U/ml dissolved in distilled water, intratracheal(IT), once. Then, the HFD control group and the experimental group were fed with high fat diet for 6 weeks. Airway hyperresponsiveness(AHR) to methacholine was measured at the 1st and 3rd week after bleomycin was administered. Food intake and body weight were measured at regular time weekly. After the final experiment, blood was gathered by cardiac puncture for bloodchemical examination and organs(liver, fatty tissue) were remoed, weighted, and mRNA was analyzed. Results and Conclusions Through the experiment, it was found that Bleomycin induced Taeeumin animal-experimental models have leptin resistace. In the experimental group administered with Bleomycin, fatty acid synthesizing gene expression increased and energy metabolizing gene expression decreased. As mRNA expression of adiponectin decreased, it was found that Taeeuim animal-experimental model is susceptible to metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases.
Experimental animation is an independent art animation and a visual art that is integrated with the spirit of experimentation. Norman McLaren pursues original beauty in each piece through scientific exploration of visual expression technology and experiment that transcends common sense with great creativity and sensitivity, and the aesthetic value of animation is very high as the master of experimental animation that has brought innovation of real image media today. Therefore, it is meaningful to analyze the experimental expressions of Norman McLaren, who expanded the field of experimental animation by challenging various techniques and carried out a ceaseless search for motion creation between each frame, and to study the expressions of movement he focused on. The most significant feature of his movement expression was analyzed as repetition of motion and repetition of metamorphosis. I hope that this derivation will be understood as experimental animation of experimental method which requires more specific type of inquiry than simple question about experimental method. Also, I hope that it will be meaningful as a preliminary study to deeply explore the possibility and direction of animation creation in university education.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify whether gym-ball exercise in standing position was an effective intervention for improving muscle strength, balance, gait, and fall efficacy in stroke patients. Methods : Twenty-four stroke patients were randomized into three groups: experimental group 1 (n=8), experimental group 2 (n=8), and control group (n=8). Experimental groups 1, 2 and the control group performed the gym-ball exercise in standing position, same exercise without a gym-ball, and general physical therapy for 4 weeks, five times a week in 30-minute sessions. Muscle strength, balance, gait, and fall efficacy were assessed using a handheld dynamometer, the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), the wearable BTS G-WALK® sensor, and the Korean version of the Falls Efficacy Scale (K-FES), before and after training, respectively. Comparisons within and between groups were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test, Kruskal Wallis H test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Bonferroni correction was performed when significant differences between groups were identified (p<.017, .05/3). Results : Regarding muscle strength, BBS score, cadence and FES-K were significantly improved after intervention in all three groups. The weight bearing rate, gait speed and step length in experimental group 1 and 2 were significantly improved after the intervention. The stride length in experimental group 1 were significantly improved after the intervention. Experimental group 1 had significantly improved BBS score and stride length after intervention than experimental group 2 and control group. Experimental group 1 and 2 improved muscle strength, weight bearing rate, and FES-K score more than the control group. Experimental group 1 showed significant improvement in cadence, gait speed, and step length after the intervention than control group. Conclusion : This study showed that exercise with gym-ball in standing position can be an effective intervention to improve balance and gait in stroke patients than the same exercise without gym-ball.
Carbonation is one of the most important factors causing the corrosion of reinforcement concrete. Nevertheless, experimental studies on the concrete carbonation have not been carried out sufficiently because of the slow process of carbonation process. Therefore, this study adopts an experimental system exploiting a vacuum instrument that has been recently developed to accelerate carbonation instead of existing experimental system to conduct rapid carbonation tests on Portland cement and fly-ash cement concretes. Test results revealed that, compared to water-cement ratio of 40%, the carbonation depth increases from 103% to 138% for an increase of water-cement ratio from 45% to 60%. These results are larger than the carbonation depths obtained by mathematical model, and such difference is increasing with larger water-cement ratios. The results also indicated that larger fly-ash contents lead to sharp increase of the carbonation depth, which is in agreement with previous experimental researches. The adoption of the new accelerated carbonation test system enabled to shorten effectively the time required to produce experimental data compared to the existing carbonation test method. The experimental data obtained in this study together with ongoing acquisition of data using the new carbonation test method are expected to contribute in the understanding of the carbonation process of concrete structures in Korea.
Purpose: This study was attempted in order to verify the effects of moxibustion on aged back pain and activities of daily living. Purposes: The purpose of this study was to identify recent trends of experimental research by analyzing doctoral dissertations in all colleges of nursing in Korea. Methods: The areas of research, the content, methodological and intervention characteristics used in this study were explored in experimental research on doctoral dissertations (n=132) published from 2006 to 2010. Results: In the issues of research, practice/clinical issues were most frequently used. As to outcome measurement, physiological variables increased more than psychological/emotional variables. Most theory applied in the research was taken from other disciplines, and nursing theory was only Roy's adaptation theory. A large majority of the research was quasi-experimental designs and the number of true-experimental designs was very low. In more than half of the dissertations, internal validity was not described, and the described external validity rate was very low. There were more single intervention programs than bundle ones and education/exercise programs were most frequently used as the source of intervention. Conclusion: Doctoral dissertations need to increase and encourage more high quality experimental research to expand nursing knowledge and to develop evidence based nursing practice.
Recently, a new foundation model called "Dynamic foundation model" was proposed for the dynamic analysis of structures on the foundation. This model includes a linear elastic spring, shear layer, viscous damping and the special effects of mass density parameter of foundation during vibration. However, the relationship of foundation property parameters with the experimental parameter of the influence of foundation mass also has not been established in previous research. Hence, the purpose of the paper presents a simple experimental model in order to establish relationships between foundation properties such as stiffness, depth of foundation and experimental parameter of the influence of foundation mass. The simple experimental model is described by a steel plate connected with solid rubber layer as a single degree of freedom system including an elastic spring connected with lumped mass. Based on natural circular frequencies of the experimental models determined from FFT analysis plots of the time history of acceleration data, the experimental parameter of the influence of foundation mass is obtained and the above relationships are also discussed.
The Agricultural Experimental Organizations[勸業模範場] in Suwon is Korea's first agricultural promotion facility. It was founded in 1906. This study aim to find the area and spatial composition of 勸業模範場. The results are as follows. When it founded, the Agricultural Experimental Organizations was operated centering on the main hall, and then since the pillage of national sovereignty in 1910, it was moved to the jurisdiction of the Japanese Government General of Korea and operated with the addition of the agricultural/forestry school. In 1913, the reductive egg production/distribution was moved from Yongsan branch to Suwon, and reductive egg producing site and female sericulture training office were installed in Suwon. It is supposed that at the time, the Agricultural Experimental Organizations was divided into the main hall-centered area, the Suwon agricultural/forestry school at the south side, and the reductive egg producing site and female sericulture training office even more down south. Since 1920, the agricultural/forestry school came out of the jurisdiction of the Agricultural Experimental Organizations, such that the Agricultural Experimental Organizations was left with only the main hall-centered area and the area with the reductive egg producing site and female sericulture training office. In this study, these two areas are referred to as 'the main hall area' and 'the sericulture area.
Purpose: This study was performed to investigate effects of behavior modification on obesity index, skinfold thickness, body fat, serum lipids, serum leptin in obese elementary school children. Method: Forty seven students were selected from two elementary schools. Twenty four children in one school were assigned to experimental group and twenty three children in another school were assigned to control group. Experimental group was received 60~70 minutes of behavior modification once a week for 8 weeks. Result: Obesity index of the experimental group was significantly decreased after behavior modification. But there was no significant difference between two groups. The increase of skin fold thickness was significantly low in the experimental group compared to the control group. Percentage of body fat and fat mass were significantly decreased in the experimental group. Fat free mass was significantly increased in the experimental group. HDL-C, triglyceride and serum leptin between the experimental group and control group showed no significant difference. Conclusion: These results indicate that behavior modification is effective in decreasing percentage of body fat and fat mass, in less increasing skinfold thickness and in increasing fat free mass. In conclusion, behavior modification can be used as effective strategy for managing obesity in elementary school children.
