The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of collaborative learning and explore the learners' experiences in three dimensions: cognition, emotion and motivation. Another purpose of this study was to make an in-depth examination of learners' experiences during collaborative learning. Data were collected from 44 students at N university who participated in collaborative learning for 7 weeks. The results were as follows: First, collaborative learning had significant effects on the higher group of collaborative tendencies on academic achievements. Second, collaborative learning had no significant effects on their epistemological beliefs, the higher group of collaborative tendencies and the lower beliefs involving simple knowledge and tentative knowing. Finally, learners amassed cognitive, emotional, and motivational experience during collaborative learning. We suggest that the for the effective implementation of collaborative learning.

Generally, truss design has been determined by the designer's experience and intuition. But if we perform the most economical structural design we must consider not only cross-sections of members but also configurations(howe, warren and pratt types etc.) of single truss as the number of panel and truss height. The purpose of this study is to develope automated optimum design techniques for steel truss structures considering cross-sections of members and shape of trusses simultaneously. As the results, it could be possible to find easily the optimum solutions subject to design conditions at the preliminary structural design stage of the steel truss structures. In this study, the objective function is expressed as the whole member weight of trusses, and the applied constraints are as stresses, slenderness ratio, local buckling, deflection, member cross-sectional dimensions and truss height etc. The automated optimum design algorithm of this study is divided into three-level procedures. The first level on member cross-sectional optimization is performed by the sequential unconstrained minimization technique(SUMT) using dynamic programming method. And the second level about truss height optimization is applied for obtaining the optimum truss height by three-equal interval search method. The last level of optimization is applied for obtaining the optimum panel number of truss by integer programming method. The algorithm of multi-level optimization programming technique proposed in this study is more helpful for the economical design of plane trusses as well as space trusses.
The purpose of this paper is to examine the important characteristics of the qualitative research methods and to analyze application of these methods in the field of family therapy. First, general characteristics of qualitative research methods and typical features of qualitative research designs are described. Second, contents related with meanings, adequacy, and application process of qualitative research methods in the field of family therapy are discussed. Third, cardinal issues that could hinder the development of qualitative family therapy research are reviewed. Qualitative research methods provide a scientific and systematic way of looking at family therapy holistically. These methods may add new dimensions to qualitative research in the field of family therapy and thus increase its diversity. The versatility of qualitative research methods is a good match for examining the complexity and the diversity of family forms and experience. Therefore, qualitative research methods has the potential to advance the science and practice of family therapy and that family therapy researchers have the potential to advance qualitative research methods. Implications for the development of qualitative research methods in the field of family therapy in Korea are suggested.
A multiple-satisfaction approach was used to determine hunting satisfaction. A sample of 1000 hunters was surveyed via mail questionnaire. Principal component analysis revealed six dimensions of hunting satisfaction : harvest, equipment, nature, skill, escapism, and social contact. Among these factors, items related nature were evaluated as the most important to their hunting satisfaction. Correlations between specialization variables (past experience, days participated in hunting, and perceived level of hunting skill) and each factor derived were examined. This study also investigated any differences in hunting satisfaction due to personal variables such as age, education, and place of residence. The results of this study indicated that no differences, except age and hunting skill, were found between the two variables.

Many organizations experience that the Performance they gained from IT portfolio is lower than they expected values. As with any investment, executives are concerned with maximizing the performance from their investment in IT. This study focused on the relationship or fit between orientations of IT strategy and directions of IT portfolio to maximize IT performance. A field survey of chief information officers of Korea manufacturing sector was conducted in 2003. Complete data of 147 firms was analyzed to determine relationship among the three research constructs that are orientations of IT strategy, directions IT portfolio, and IT performance. In this study, the orientations of IT strategy have two dimensions that are operation orientation and market orientation. The directions of IT portfolio have two dimension that are internal system focused and external system focused. And the IT performance has divided into operational performance and competitive performance. As a result of this study, the companies that are putting a focus with operation orientation were concentrated on internal information systems than external information systems. On the other hand, the other companies that are focused on market orientation were concentrated on external information systems than internal information systems. Consequently, the companies that are focused on operation orientation were operational performance higher than competitive performance and the other companies that are focused on market orientation were competitive performance higher than operational performance. More importantly, the research results provide empirical evidence that supports the hypothesis related to closer fit between IT strategy and IT portfolio does lead to increase operational and competitive performance of IT. And the results emphasize manager's efforts of fit between orientations of IT strategy and directions of IT portfolio to be realized IT performance.

As the business environment is rapidly changing with globalization and complexity of information flows, the uncertainty is also very increased for project environment. Although many studies have been conducted to find out the critical factors for project success, there still exist different views to define project success. Furthermore, implementing success formula for one project does not necessarily guarantee a success for another project since there are other elements that impede the success of project. In this regards, it is imperative to examine what are the barriers to project success. This study aims to examine the barriers that impede the success of project. Past literature was thoroughly reviewed to collect and develop a preliminary list of elements that affected project performance negatively. Experts were interviewed to refine the list and the final list of the measurement items were developed. A survey questionnaire was developed with the final list of measurement items, and a survey was conducted on the practitioners with project experience. After the survey, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the final list to extract the component dimensions which in turn formed the group of project barriers. The exploratory factor analysis provided ten factors, which are difficulty of process management, failure of project feasibility analysis, cost overruns and lack of cost benefits, unclarity project plan, strategic consistency error, stakeholder conflict, inaccuracy of requirement definition, disturbance of communication, technical environment change, negative attitude of top management.

This study examines cultural differneces in psychosocial maturity experiences between collectivistic and individualistic cultures. Personal, relational, and social dimensions were assessed to explore psychosocial maturity experience of elderly Korean residents in Korea and Canada who were psychosocially well developed through in-depth interviews and a content analysis. According to the results, there were diverse similarities and differences in the psychosocial maturity of elderly Korean residents between the two cultures. First, psychosocially mature elderly residents in both cultures showed positive self-concept and self-satisfaction. However, there were differences in their meaning. Second, in terms of interpersonal relations, the most important and satisfying relationship was the spousal relationship for both cultures, and relationships with children were satisfying. However, there were differences in the meaning of relationships between the two cultures as well as gender differences. Third, psychosocially mature elderly residents in both cultures reported psychosocial factors such as mature aging as a social dimension. Elderly residents in Korea regarded mature aging as a relationship oriented phenomenon, whereas those in Canada reported social attitudes toward mature aging. In addition, elderly residents in both cultures reported greed and harm to others as immature aging. Elderly residents in Korea regarded relational discord as immature aging, whereas those in Canada regarded it as demanding adult treatment from future generation. In terms of transcendence, adjustment was reported as living by going with the flow. Elderly residents in Korea reported adjustment based on fatalism, whereas those in Canada showed some religious meaning. Finally, psychosocially mature elderly residents showed a positive view, acceptance and life integration. These results are discussed from the perspective of cultural differences.
Keloids are abnormally healed skin wounds that develop in the subpapillary layer of the dermis. They are a lesion with wide, raised and deep scars. They exceed the original dimensions of the wound and grow mounds upon mounds of collagen in a pseudotumor fashion. Their treatment may take several forms such as surgery, intralesional injection of steroid, compression, superficial irradiation, and combination therapy. However, absolute method is nothing until now. Recently, the cryosurgery shows relatively good effect in treatment, so we tried the clinical experience with cryosurgery in the treatment of keloids. Material and methods: During the past 2 years, we treated 20 individuals of the keloids with severe itching and pain. The age ranged from 5 to 45 years old. Only 6 cases were biopsied before and after cryotherapy. The cryosurgery set we used was Toitu model CR 201 $N_2O$ gas (tip temperature is $-80^{\circ}C$) and was applied directly on the lesion about 4 to 5 minutes with slight compression. After cryosurgery in keloids, the following results were obtained: 1. It is both quick and easy method. 2. It causes little or no pain and no loss of blood. 3. Integumentary normalization is rapid. The new scar tissue is smaller, and more elastic and soft. 4. The pain, itching and paresthesia commonly associated with keloid is usually disappeared. 5. Other treatment can be used after cryosurgery. 6. Histologic picture after cryosurgery is similar with the result of steroid injection. 7. The mechanism of the cryosurgery in keloids is the result of the direct tissue destroying action and cryoimmunologic reaction.
The purpose of this study is to verify the influence on customers' experiences of products, prices, places of advertisements, staffs, and physical environments, and the impact on store attitudes and revisit intentions of the customers' experiences. For this, in this study marketing activities and store attitude factors were selected as sub-factors and the empirical analysis was carried out. As a result of the analysis, of dimensions that comprise those marketing activity factors, physical environments, prices, and places had a positive impact on store attitudes. In addition, the stores' positive attitude on hypermarkets had a positive influence on the customer's revisit intention. The results of the study suggest that hypermarkets can utilize the experiential marketing using customer experience factors as their important strategic factor through moving away from their traditional marketing activities.
The purpose of this research is to investigate young consumer motivation in regards to shopping mall. Young adults are an emerging age group that has economic autonomy and power of making independent decisions. In addition, this young segment providing an interesting challenges and opportunities for marketing professionals. Therefore, it is pertinent to analyse their shopping motivations, so that the marketers can understand and influence the consumption behaviour of this specific group. A survey using self-administered questionnaire was conducted to assess the mall-directed shopping habits and shopping orientations. A total of 164 usable surveys were obtained. In addition of exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling was applied to prove the hypotheses. We have found that young Australian shoppers were motivated to visit malls primarily by the role enactment and exploration dimensions. They were the strongest motivators which explaining why young Australian consumers patronize malls. Young consumers of Australia enjoyed the mall environment, exploring new things, socializing with friends, comparing prices and the variety of products and services offered. The results of our study have several implications that should be of benefit to the retailing industry and mall management. Developers of malls must develop their mall more than simply a place for buying products. As such, mall management should make sure that their mall atmospherics offer a mall environment that is pleasing to multiple senses, to ensure it is conducive for shoppers to stay and spend more of their time and money. Mall management must execute strategies to maintain their attraction to younger consumers, perhaps by including stores that are futuristic and offer the most advanced styles or technologies, and appeal to somewhat older adults by offering the tenant, entertainment, and experience mix they will prefer. It is recommended that future research utilize random sampling methods to ensure the generalizability of results.
