This study is to investigate the engineering and shrinkage properties of concrete incorporating shrinkage reducing agent(SRA) and expansive additive(EA) in order to reduce shrinkage of concrete. According to results, as for the properties of fresh concrete, increase in, SRA and EA content leads to reduce the fluidity but to increase the air content, and as for setting time, there is little difference. For strength properties, it decreased with an increase in SRA dosage and increased up to 5% of EA content. For the properties of drying shrinkage, it shows decline tendency with an increase in SRA and EA content reiteratively. It alto reduces significantly with the combination of SRA-EA systems due to the combined effect of the admixture. In the scope of this paper, it is found that the use of SRA with 0.5% and EA with 5% has optimum effects on the various properties of concrete. And under the combination of SRA and EA, it can reduce drying shrinkage about 37%.

High-performance fiber-reinforced cement composite (HPFRCC) shows very high autogenous shrinkage, because it contains a low water-to-binder ratio (W/B) of 0.2 and high fineness admixture without coarse aggregate. Thus, it needs a method to decrease the cracking potential. Accordingly, in this study, to effectively reduce the shrinkage of HPFRCC, a total of five different ratios of SRA (1% and 2%), EA (5% and 7.5%), and a combination of SRA and EA (1% and 7.5%) were considered. According to the test results of ring-test, a combination of SRA and EA (1% and 7.5%) showed best performance regarding restrained shrinkage behavior without significant deterioration of compressive and tensile strengths. This was also verified by performing modified drying shrinkage crack test.

This study investigates the fire resistance properties of high strength concrete, around 60MPa class, designed with various admixture types and fiber content. Test showed that the increase of fiber content decreased the fluidity and slightly inclined the air content of fresh concrete. However, the fiber content in concrete did not affect the compressive strength. For the addition of admixture, specimens adding the shrinkage-reducing-agent (SR) indicated the strength value at 70MPa, which is followed by incorporating silica fume (SF) at 66MPa, the combination of expansive admixture (EA) and SR at 63MPa, only EA at 59MPa, blast furnace slag (BS) at 58MPa and fly ash (FA) at 50MPa in an order. After completing the fire test, all specimens adding 0.05vol.% of polypropylene fiber exhibited protection of spatting, except for the specimens incorporating loft of SF and incorporating 20% of SF with only SR and the combination of EP and SRA, respectively. Therefore the most effective result of this study was shown in the specimens incorporating love of FA and 30% of BS and incorporating 20% of SF with 5 % of EA. It is expected that this test results will be crucial references in near future to develope the spatting resistance method of high strength concrete.
In this study, experimental tests of chemical and autogenous shrinkage were performed to evaluate the early age shrinkage behaviors of ultra high performance cementitious composites (UHPCC) with various replacement ratios of silica fume (SF), shrinkage reducing agent (SRA), expansive admixture (EA), and superplasticizer (SP). Starting time of self-desiccation, was analyzed by comparing the setting times and the deviated point of chemical and autogenous shrinkage strains. The test results indicated that both SF and SRA augment the early age chemical shrinkage, whereas SP delays the hydration reaction between cement particles and water, and reduces chemical shrinkage. About 49% of autogenous shrinkage was depleted by synergetic effect of SRA and EA. The hardening of UHPCC was catalyzed by containing EA. Self-desiccation of UHPCC occurred prior to the initial setting due to the high volume fraction of fibers and low water-binder ratio (W/B).
This study is intended to analyze the effectiveness of expansive additive, shrinkage reducing agent and combination of the two to reduce the autogenous and drying shrinkage of high performance concrete using mineral admixture such as fly ash, blast furnace slag powder and silica fume. According to results, when expansive additive and shrinkage reducing agent are mixed within an appropriate mixing ratio, fluidity and air content are not influenced, and the enhancement of compressive strength is favorable at the age of 91 and 180days. At the mixing ratio of expansive additive of 5% and 10%, the autogenous and drying shrinkage is reduced by 32∼68% and 25∼49% respectively in comparison with plain concrete. And they are reduced by 18∼34% and 16∼26% respectively at the mixing ratio of shrinkage reducing agent of 0.5% and 1.0%, compared with plain concrete. The mixture of EA-SR combined with expansive additive and shrinkage reducing agent is most effective for reduction of shrinkage. Therefore, it is considered that the using method in combination with expansive additive and shrinkage reducing agent is effective to reduce the shrinkage of high performance concrete using mineral admixture such as fly ash, blast slag powder and silica fume.

This paper presents the results of drying shrinkage of concrete using shrinkage-reducingadmixture(DSRA) studied by the authors through mock-up test. DSRA is proportioned by expansive admixture and shrinkage reducing agent(SRA). Flowing concrete method is also applied to assist the concrete to reduce drying shrinkage by decreasing water content at the same time. The use of EA and SRA does not affect fluidity, bleeding and setting time. Compressive strength of concrete using EA along with SRA exhibited less than that of plain concrete. However, The compressive strength with combination of EA-SRA along with flowing concrete method shows comparable to that of plain concrete. The application of developed method can contribute to reducing drying shrinkage by as much as 30-40$\%$ compared with that of plain concrete.
Since ultra-high performance cementitious composites (UHPCC) not only represents high early age shrinkage strain due to its low water-to-binder ratio (W/B) and high fineness admixture usage but also reduces the cross section of structure from the higher mechanical properties, it generally has more shrinkage cracks from the restraints of formwork and reinforcing bars. In this study, free and restrained shrinkage experiments were conducted to evaluate the suitability of incorporating both expansive admixture (EA) and shrinkage reducing agent (SRA). The test results indi-cated that approximately 40~44% of free shrinkage strain was decreased. Also, the results showed that 35% and 47% of residual tensile stresses were relieved by synergetic effect of SRA and EA, respectively. Residual tensile stresses from ringtest were relaxed by approximately 61% and 64% of elastic shrinkage stresses due to SRA and EA, respectively, because of the tensile creep effect. Therefore, the creep effect should be considered to precisely estimate the restrained shrinkage behavior of concrete structures. The degree of restraint of UHPCC was approximately in the range of 0.78~0.85. The addition of combined EA and SRA showed minute influence on the degree of restraint. However, the effect decreased when thicker concrete ring was used. Tensile creep strains were measured and compared to the predicted values from 4-parametric prediction model considering time dependent restrained forces.

This paper reports the influence of super retarding agent(SRA) on the setting time of concrete incorporating mineral admixture including fly ash(FA), expansive additive(EA), silica fume(SF), blast furnace slag(BS) and blast furnace slag along with fly ash(BS+FA). An increase in SRA resulted in retarding the setting time of control concrete, while the use of mineral admixture led to a delay of setting time markedly, compared with that of control concrete under no SRA content. Meanwhile, An increase in SRA in concrete with mineral admixture exhibited comparable setting delay with control concrete. Furthermore, in case of the use of BS and SF, acceleration of setting time was observed with increase of SRA content. It is considered that proper dosage of SRA of concrete with SF and BS to secure similar setting delay with control concrete require rather larger than that of control concrete. Accordingly, For concrete with mineral admixture, in order to decide the proper dosage of SRA, application of correction factors is needed.

HPFRCC is characterized by a very low water-to-binder ratio which induce extremely large autogenous shrinkage at early age. The restriction of such autogenous shrinkage through the use of forms and reinforcing bars will increase substantially the risk of excessive residual stresses and shrinkage cracking. The exact understanding of the shrinkage behavior and studies on solutions to reduce shrinkage should be imperatively undertaken for further application of HPFRCC to real structures. Therefore, this paper investigated the mechanical properties of HPFRCC with respect to the eventual introduction of expansive admixture(EA) and shrinkage reducing agent (SRA) in the mixture. Autogenous shrinkage test was conducted considering the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) measured at early age so as to examine the effects of EA and SRA on the autogenous shrinkage behavior of HPFRCC.
