증발기 과열도제어에 따른 냉동장치의 동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dynamic Characteristics of a Refrigeration System by Controlling the Evaporator Superheat)

  • An experimental study was performed for the analysis of dynamic characteristics of refrigeration system by controlling the evaporator superheat. Experimental data have been taken utilizing two different devices, thermostatic expansion valve(T.E.V.) and electronic expansion valve(E.E.V.), for the control of the evaporator superheat. The ranges of parameters, such as superheat, mass flow rate of refrigerant and inlet temperature of evaporator were 5-30.deg. C 90-170 kg/h and 10-25.deg. C, respectively. The data taken from the T.E.v.and E.E.v.were discussed with the control of the superheat, pressure drop, refrigerating capacity, compression work, evaporating temperature, condensing temperature and COP affecting performance characteristics of refrigeration system. In case of the refrigerant flow control with T.E..V., the superheat and pressure drop of the evaporator varied periodically, but the control with E.E.V., the parameters were very stable. In E.E.v.control, refrigerating capacity, compression work and evaporating temperature were decreased with increasing superheat, and the highest COP was obtained in the range of superheat from 5.deg. C to 15.deg. C.

저속 디젤기관에서 고팽창의 밀러방식에 의한 사이클 해석 및 흡기밸브제어에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Cycle Analyzing and Intake Valve Control by the Miller Method with a High Expansion into Low-Speed Diesel Engine)

  • 최근, 디젤기관의 고효율달성을 위한 방법으로 밀러방식의 고팽창사이클에 대한 연구가 관심이 높다. 본 연구에서는 고팽창 디젤사이클을 구성하여 열역학적으로 해석하고, 몇몇 인자에 의한 사이클 특성을 분석하였다. 이론해석 결과 흡기밸브 닫힘시기가 지각될수록 유효압축비의 감소로 상대적인 팽창비의 효과는 커져 팽창-압축비의 비는 기대할 수 있었으나, 압축압력 및 흡입공기의 역류로 인해 평균유효 압력과 출력의 감고를 수반하였다. 따라서 이에 대한 대책이 있어야 진정한 의미의 고팽창 디젤사이클이 실현되고 열효율향상 가능성이 있음이 확인되었다. 위와 같은 사이클을 실제기관으로부터 구현하기 위해 흡기밸브 닫힘시기를 늦게 하는 제어시스템을 구축하고, 시험을 위해서 S/B가 약 3인 저속 단기통 디젤기관에 가변밸브타이밍(VVT)시스템을 적용하여 성능을 평가하였다. 그 결과 시험기관의 밸브제어에는 큰 문제없는 것으로 평가되었다.

Sealing design optimization of nuclear pressure relief valves based on the polynomial chaos expansion surrogate model

  • Pressure relief valve (PRV) is one of the important control valves used in nuclear power plants, and its sealing performance is crucial to ensure the safety and function of the entire pressure system. For the sealing performance improving purpose, an explicit function that accounts for all design parameters and can accurately describe the relationship between the multi-design parameters and the seal performance is essential, which is also the challenge of the valve seal design and/or optimization work. On this basis, a surrogate model-based design optimization is carried out in this paper. To obtain the basic data required by the surrogate model, both the Finite Element Model (FEM) and the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) based numerical models were successively established, and thereby both the contact stresses of valve static sealing and dynamic impact (between valve disk and nozzle) could be predicted. With these basic data, the polynomial chaos expansion (PCE) surrogate model which can not only be used for inputs-outputs relationship construction, but also produce the sensitivity of different design parameters were developed. Based on the PCE surrogate model, a new design scheme was obtained after optimization, in which the valve sealing stress is increased by 24.42% while keeping the maximum impact stress lower than 90% of the material allowable stress. The result confirms the ability and feasibility of the method proposed in this paper, and should also be suitable for performance design optimizations of control valves with similar structures.

밸브 타이밍 지각과 과급에 의한 흡기관 분사식 수소기관의 고성능 실현 (The Realization of High Performance in a Hydrogen-Fueled Engine with External Mixture by Retarding Valve Timing and Super Charging)

  • In order to analysis the possibility of high expansion and performance without backfire in a hydrogenfueled engine using external mixture injection, combustion characteristics and performance enhancement were analyzed in terms of retarding valve timing and increasing the boosting pressure. As the results, it was found that thermal efficiency increased by retarding intake valve timing with the same level of supplied energy is over 6.6% by the effect of high expansion including effect of combustion enhancement due to supercharging. It was also shown that the achievement of high power (equal to that of a gasoline engine), low brake specific fuel consumption and low emission (NOx of less than 16 ppm) without backfire in a hydrogen-fueled engine is possible around a boosting pressure of 1.5 bar, intake valve opening time of TDC and $\Phi$=0.35 in fuel-air equivalence ratio.

자동차용 에어컨의 단품 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Component Performance for Automotive Air Conditioner)

  • For successful design of component, performances of one-tank plate type evaporator, gas-liquid separation type condenser, swash plate type compressor and thermostatic expansion valve for automotive air conditioner are investigated experimentally. Heat transfer characteristics in the evaporator are examined by means of air temperature, relative humidity, air volume flow, outlet refrigerant pressure and superheat, and heat transfer characteristics in the condenser are examined by means of air temperature, air velocity and inlet refrigerant pressure. Pressure drops for both evaporator and condenser are measured arid empirical correlations are derived. Volumetric efficiencies and isentropic efficiencies for trio types of compressors with different capacity are measured and compared. Thermostatic expansion valve is tested to investigate the pressure variation according to temperature changes.

자동차용 블록식 온도감응 팽창밸브의 모델링 (Modelling of an Automotive Block Type Thermostatic Expansion Valve)

  • The objective of this study is to propose two empirical correlations to predict the mass flow rate through an automotive block type thermostatic expansion valve and then to evaluate the correlations. The first correlation is deduced by modifying the basic equation of the orifice meter for the mass flow rate and the second correlation is deduced by using the Buckingham's ${\pi}$ theorem. The first correlation showed very good agreement on the measured data for R134a, given by Monforte. Average relative deviation and standard deviation of it are 2.5% and 1.6%, respectively. The second correlation agreed on the same measured data with a little greater deviations. The two correlations may apply to common expansion valves which have different geometrical sizes of the same shape.

4사이클 디젤기관에서 고팽창 실현 시 문제점 해결방안과 열효율 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Problem-Solving Method and Thermal Efficiency Properties at the Time of High Expansion Realization in a 4-Cycle Diesel Engine)

  • The present thesis carried out a research on a compression pressure's reduction phenomenon and its countermeasure according to the thermal efficiency improvement method by a Miller method in 4-cycle low speed diesel engine. In case of retardation of intake valve closing time in a engine, the theoretical heat efficiency shows a remarkably reducing trend when a compression ratio is not compensated. Accordingly, the thermal efficiency showed an increasing trend in case of compensating the compression ratio. Especially, it could be understood that the theoretical heat efficiency at near ABDC $100^{\circ}$ of intake valve closing time in case of compensation of the compression ratio was improved by around 25.1%, and the mean effective pressure was also increased by around 18.6%. Also, as the retardation of intake valve closing time increases, air quantity becomes insufficient due to a backflow phenomenon of intake air and thus thermal efficiency was decreased in a high load operation domain. The solving method of this problem is possible by supercharge. Therefore, in order to improve thermal efficiency by retardation of ntake valve closing time, the thermal efficiency improvement according to low compression is possible when there are a compensation device of a compression ratio and a supercharge device. This is a problem-solving method of low compression and high expansion cycle.

캠구동 방식을 적용한 자동차 공조시스템용 전자팽창밸브의 성능에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Performance of a Cam Driving Electronic Expansion Valve for Vehicles)

  • 공조시스템을 구성하는 핵심 부품들의 설계 방향은 효율 향상 및 고생산성 측면을 둘 다 고려하는 것이다. 이러한 핵심부품 중의 하나인 팽창장치는 증발 부하, 압축 용량 및 응축 능력에 따라 냉매의 유량을 조절한다. 본 연구에서는 자동차용 공조시스템을 대상으로 하여 현 냉매인 R134a와 더불어 향후 대체냉매의 하나인 고압 $CO_2$의 사용이 가능한 겸용 전자팽창밸브가 개발되었다. 이 전자팽창밸브는 저 비용 및 고 생산성을 위해 기존 방식과는 달리 편심형 캠구동 방식이 채택되었다. 고안된 설계안을 바탕으로 수치해석을 이용하여 고압 조건에서의 내압성능과 밸브 개도에 따른 유량성능을 각각 평가하였다. 최대작동 압력 조건에서 98MPa의 최대응력을 보이며 탄성영역 이내의 변형을 나타내었다. 파괴압력 조건에서는 233 MPa의 최대응력을 보여 소성변형이 일어나지만 파괴가 일어나지 않는 것으로 예측되었다. 밸브 개도에 따라 유량이 증가하며, $CO_2$ 냉매와 R134a 냉매 적용시 각각 550 kg/h, 386 kg/h의 최대 유량을 나타내었다. 또한 R134a에 대한 내압 및 유량성능실험은 해석결과와 비교적 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었다.

고밀도화 공정에 의한 Fe-Co 계 밸브시트 합금의 조직변화와 열적 특성 (Thermal Properties and Microstructural Changes of Fe-Co System Valve Seat Alloy by High Densification Process)

  • Infiltration is a popular technique used to produce valve seat rings and guides to create dense parts. In order to develop valve seat material with a good thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient, Cu-infiltrated properties of sintered Fe-Co-M(M=Mo,Cr) alloy systems are studied. It is shown that the copper network that forms inside the steel alloy skeleton during infiltration enhances the thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient of the steel alloy composite. The hard phase of the CoMoCr and the network precipitated FeCrC phase are distributed homogeneously as the infiltrated Cu phase increases. The increase in hardness of the alloy composite due to the increase of the Co, Ni, Cr, and Cu contents in Fe matrix by the infiltrated Cu amount increases. Using infiltration, the thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient were increased to 29.5 W/mK and $15.9um/m^{\circ}C$, respectively, for tempered alloy composite.

스프링클러설비용 CPVC관과 신축배관 접속부분에서의 누수저감 대책에 관한 연구 (Leakage-reduction Measures at a Joint between CPVC Piping for a Sprinkler System and a Pipe Expansion)

  • 본 연구는 스프링클러설비용 CPVC관과 신축배관 접속부분에서의 누수저감을 위하여 신축배관을 연결하기 위한 밸브소켓과 신축배관 너트부분에 삽입되는 수밀 고무패킹 재질에 대한 국내 및 국외 관련 규격의 검토와 관련 시험 등을 통해 대책을 제안하고자 한다. 누수시험을 통해 밸브소켓 재질은 신축배관 너트부분이 금속제인 경우 금속제로 사용하거나 신축배관 너트부분의 재질을 합성수지제로 사용하여야함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 밸브소켓의 적정 품질 확보를 위해서는 나사산 규격과 검사기준으로 KS B 0221(관용평행나사)와 나사산 검사규격을 KS B 5223(관용 평행나사 게이지)에 따르도록 관련 기준을 개정할 필요가 있다. 그리고 신축배관 너트부분에 설치되는 수밀용 고무링 소재에 대해 세부적인 기준이 없어 NBR과 EPDM 소재가 함께 사용되고 있으나 수밀성이 우수한 EPDM 소재가 사용되도록 관련 기준을 개정할 필요가 있다.
