Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the influence of professionalism, role conflict and work environment in clinical nurses with expanded role (CNE) on job embeddedness. Methods: The participants in this study were 136 CNE working in general hospitals in Seoul, the wider metropolitan area and Gangwon Province. Results: Job embeddedness, work environment and professional performance of the participants showed positive correlation with each other. Significant predictors of embeddeness were belief in public service and sense of calling in the professional subcategory and participation in hospital affairs and nurse-doctor relationship in the work environment subcategory. Conclusion: Finding from this study indicate the need to evaluate and improve the significant predictors of job embeddedness for CNE.

The expanded role of courts in arbitral procedures is said to have certain detrimental effects on the cost-effective approach to arbitration. This is the case when the court is appointing an arbitrator, pursuant to the specific domestic legal regime. The danger of decisions, especially those with expanded role of courts can create delays and hurdles. Even with contradictory viewpoints, the role of the court should complement the arbitral tribunal and not impede the functioning of arbitration independent of the judicial system. In this paper, two recent cases in Korean Supreme Court are reviewed, trying to find the proper implications on further arbitration practices especially in the stage of arbitrator appointment. Even though the proper appointment of arbitrators is essential to the existence of valid arbitration proceedings, appointment of arbitrators by the courts should constitute an administrative power, and not a judicial power. The cases reviewed make clear that the court must play a facilitative role in international commercial arbitration by assisting the parties in appointing the arbitral tribunal, the court intervention must be kept to a minimum.

A spectral inversion scheme, based on the moment-method procudure with series-expanded field within each cell by dividing the dielectric object into a small number os rectangular cells with large area, is developed to regularize the ill-posedness inherent in inverse scattering problems. One of the interesting features on the presented scheme is that the relative dielectric constant may be obtained by averaging over each cell. This averaging is expected to play an important role in regularizing the high-frequency effect due to noise.

Most of all countries have a governmental system for regulating the certification of nursing. In Korea, certification of advanced practice nurse(APN) is statuary regulation under supervision of government. In this article, the writers discuss the legal characters and effects of certification and regulatory body for certification and suggest the new regulatory system. The advanced practitioner may be recognize "new" health provider in the future. The nursing specialist have right to use title and practice expanded role. It's different things with physicians certification. The regulatory body is important because certification protected the title and empower APN authorize of expanded role. The certification of nursing is closely connected with public interest. The Korea government delegate power of national examination to private institute. To improve utility and publicity of certification system, we suggest that statutory empower the certification authority to public institute which composed with nursing professionals.

Purpose: The purpose for this study was to identify the present state of Clinical Nurses with Expanded Role (CNERs) and provide basic data to refine the roles of CNERs. In this study, CNREs refers to nurses who perform techniques traditionally done by doctors and use titles such as clinical nursing specialist, educator with consultation, research assistant, coordinator, physician assistant and special examiner. Method: This study was conducted from September 1 to November 12, 2007. Data from 684 nurses from 38 hospitals who responded to the questionnaire were analyzed with descriptive statistics using the SPSS 14.0 program. Results: The mean percentage of time spent was, for direct practice, 41.1%, for education and counseling, 22.8%, for consultation and coordination, 10.4%, for research, 6.8%, for administration, 8.9% and for other activities, 10.0%. The most frequently implemented CNERs, activities included consultation and education for patients and their families, counseling by telephone, history taking, physical examination, reading examination results, psychosocial assessment, managing treatment, input of prescriptions, and writing up patient records, Although not frequently performed, nurses in some fields carried out invasive procedures and prescribed medication and laboratory tests. Conclusion: Although the number of hospital CNERs are rapidly increasing, there is still confusion about the title and framework as well as standards. Furthermore, because some nurses are prescribing medication and laboratory tests as well as performing techniques not traditionally done by nurses, there is an absolute need for a legalized system and systematic education system for the safety of patients who are being cared by all CNERs.

As the number of medical disputes regarding nurses has increased after medical disputes have increase, there is a need for a study on it. However, the legal relationship between nurses and patients has not yet been analyzed. Recently, the role and function of nurses are expanded according to the development of the science of nursing; moreover their activity and limitation of responsibility are also expanded. For this reason, the medical disputes regarding nurses have been increasing. However, the majority of these kind of dispute are just passed over because their practice is usually considered to be a mere action to assist doctor's role. In addition, nurse practice is not a secondary action of doctor's role, but forms part of a medical treatment. Of course, nurses handle many secondary tasks after doctors finish their medical treatment. But this is only part of the whole tasks of nurses. Furthermore, the general details of their medical treatment are not different from those of doctors because they also belong to the medical service personnel. Considering these features of nurse and the medical condition in South Korea, their task is becoming increasingly developed and specialized and they are also establishing their own field. With this stream of times, there is a growing interest in enacting a Nursing Practice Act, in other words, the independent law on nurse for the sake of patient safety and national health promotion. Then, their responsibility will distinctly be expanded as much more. That is, the time that nurses practice their medical care by following doctors' order and also pass over their responsibility to doctors is closed. Thus, this study examines the features and responsibilities of nursing practice, and discusses an institutional framework to efficiently cope with the legal disputes between nurses and patients. It aims to throw light on the decision making on nurse-patient disputes in future.

While there has been a substantial amount of studies on public rental housing of Korea, most have focused on housing policy changes, international comparisons, and current characteristics and future prospects. This article aims to examine the evolving roles of the national and local governments, and the private sector in provision of Korea's public rental housing. The findings suggest that one, although the wave of neoliberalism and financial crisis have prompted the national government to reduce its role and to encourage engagement of other actors by utilizing incentivizing tools, it has continued to assume a central position in formulating and implementing housing supply plans. Two, local governments have played a marginal role throughout the history of public rental housing supply, although they have expanded their participation through redevelopment projects and utilization of existing housings. Three, private sector actors have expanded their role to delivering public benefits of making housing available for a wider range of populace leveraging various incentives that make projects financially more feasible. The study poses a question on how responsibilities and risks can appropriately be allocated among three key actors to achieve housing welfare going forward.

The effects of vortex generators, in the form of small tabs projecting into the flow at the axisymmetric supersonic nozzle exit and triangular thin tapes attached on the inner surface at the nozzle exit, on the characterixtics of supersonic mixing enhancements are experimentally investigated. Delta-shaped tabs as small as 1% of the nozzle exit area produce strong counter-rotating vortices, and is found to produce significant effects on the jet flowfield downstream of the nozzle. The effects is larger on the under-expanded cases than over- and perfect-expanded cases. Nozzle inner surface roughness also can do a role of centerline pressure decay for highly under-expanded jet cases. The effects of the angle of tabs with respect to flow direction are also investigated.

The purpose of this study was to figure out a direction for midwifes' expanded roles for integrative woman's health care focused on health promotion & maintenance and primary prevention of women's health disorders including family health in the new millenium as a primary women's health practitioner. Data sources used for analysis were the book published from International Confederation of Midwives including role, code, situation and others from the international aspects : the empirical data from direct contact by participation in the ICM held in Manila, Philipine, May 22-26, 1999 : and documentation of Korean Midwives Association. Historical and current changing perspectives toward woman's health & nurse-midwifery and the reality women's health & nurse-midwifery and the reality of expand role that should be acquired toward the new millenium are discussed. In conclusion, Nurse-midwives are the very primary women's health care providers who can provide not only the exact needs of women who have health related problems, which are developed in the unique socio-cultural context women are belonged to, but also reproductive affairs including labor and delivery as it was midwive's traditional role, not just as practitioner, educator, counselor but conscious raiser for women's right. Futhermore, for this, thorough preparation through various kind of active and contemplated approach such as remodeling roles and education and continuing education system, training for high skilled & technical action, making laws and policy, and others is absolutely required.
