The sound absorption coefficient and sound transmission loss of graphite intercalation compound (GIC) included epoxy composites were investigated. Epoxy resin was infused into the expanded GIC and the impedance tube method was employed to measure the sound absorption coefficient and sound transmission loss. Scanning electron microscopy photographs showed uniform distribution of the GIC in the epoxy matrix. The surface density of epoxy/GIC (20 wt%) composites decreased about 56% compared to that of pure epoxy. The sound absorption coefficient of composites increased about 3 times at the frequency range of 500~1000 Hz compared to the pure epoxy. The sound transmission loss of composites decreased with increasing the GIC content and it is attributed to the increase of pores in the composites.

A metrological atomic force microscope (M-AFM) was developed fur the length measurements of nanometer range, through the modification of a commercial AFM. To eliminate nonlinearity and crosstalk of the PZT tube scanner of the commercial AFM, a two-axis flexure hinge scanner employing built-in capacitive sensors is used for X-Y motion instead of PZT tube scanner. Then two-dimensional displacement of the scanner is measured using two-axis heterodyne laser interferometer to ensure the meter-traceability. Through the measurements of several specimens, we could verify the elimination of nonlinearity and crosstalk. The uncertainty of length measurements was estimated according to the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement. Among several sources of uncertainty, the primary one is the drift of laser interferometer output, which occurs mainly from the variation of refractive index of air and the thermal stability. The Abbe error, which is proportional to the measured length, is another primary uncertainty source coming from the parasitic motion of the scanner. The expanded uncertainty (k =2) of length measurements using the M-AFM is √(4.26)$^2$+(2.84${\times}$10$^{-4}$${\times}$L)$^2$(nm), where f is the measured length in nm. We also measured the pitch of one-dimensional grating and compared the results with those obtained by optical diffractometry. The relative difference between these results is less than 0.01 %.

The Rapid Expansion of Supercritical fluid Solutions (RESS) process was applied to particles coating. Experiments were conducted in a fluidized bed with an internal nozzle in the center of the reaction tube. Pure glass beads (500~590$\mu$m, 74~149$\mu$m) and glass beads covered with brilliant blue were used as the core particles. Supercritical $CO_2$ solutions of paraffin were expanded through the nozzle into the bed that was fluidized by air. The precipitate coating materials on core surface was analyzed by using SEM, FT-IR. The releasing behavior of brilliant blue was inspected by atomic absorbance spectrophotometer. The release behavior of coated particles superior to noncoated particles.
As a part of the effort to improve post-transfer survival rate of embryos in Korean black goats, a technique for laparoscopic uterine transfer of blastocysts was carried out. A total of 26 transferrable embryos (morula to expanded blastocysts) were transferred to 13 recipient goats via transabdominal laparoscopic method. In consequence of our hormone protocol, 65% of the recipients (13/20) were found to have synchronized estrus. After confirmation of corpus luteum in each recipient goat, a Babcock laparoscopic forceps was inserted into the lower abdominal cavity to hold a uterine horn and fasten it near the peritoneum without causing injury. Then 7.5cm long 16G IV catheter was inserted directly into the uterine lumen through the abdominal wall. After removal of the stylet of the IV catheter, the embryo transfer tube (identical in size to the stylet and loaded with blastocysts) was inserted into the uterine lumen through the catheter to unload the embryos. Of the 13 estrus synchronized recipients, 9 were transferred blastocysts and 4 were transferred molurae (2 embryos in each recipient) in uterine ipsilateral to the ovary with corpus luteum. Four of the 9 recipients which blastocysts were transferred using this method has been confirmed pregnant (44.4% pregnancy rate).

A stent is small tube-like structure expanded into stenotic arteries to restore blood flow. The stent expansion behaviors define the effectiveness of the surgical operation. In this paper, finite-element method was employed to analyze expansion behaviors and fatigue life of a typical diamond-shaped balloon-expandable stent. Beyond safety considerations, this type of analysis provides mechanical properties that are often difficult to obtain by experiments. Mechanical properties of the stent expansion pressure, radial recoil, longitudinal recoil and foreshortening were simulated using commercial FEM code, ANSYS and fatigue life were estimated using NISAII ENDURE. The FEM results showed that the pressures necessary to expand the stent up to a diameter of 3mm, 4mm and 5mm were 0.75MPa, 0.82MPa and 0.97MPa. The fatigue lifes according to expansion diameter were 114${\times}$10$^{7}$cycles, 714${\times}$$^{6}$cycles and 163${\times}$10$^{6}$cycles. As a result, a finite element model used in this study can simulate expansion behaviors of stents and should be useful to design new stents or analyze actual stents.

A ejector system is one of the fluid machinery, which has been mainly used as an exhaust pump or a vacuum pump. The ejector system has often been pointed out to have only a limited efficiency because it is driven by pure shear action and the mixing action between primary and secondary streams. In the present work, numerical simulations were conducted to investigate the effects of the geometry and the mass flow ratio of supersonic ejector-diffuser systems on their mixing performance. A fully implicit finite volume scheme was applied to solve the axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations, and the standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model was used to close the governing equations. The flow fields of the supersonic ejector-diffuser systems were investigated by changing the ejector throat area ratio and the mass flow ratio. The existence of the second throat strongly affected the shock wave structure inside the mixing tube as well as the spreading of the under-expanded jet discharging from the primary nozzle, and served to enhance the mixing performance.
When a safety valve equipped in a nuclear power plant opens in an instant by an accident, a moving shock wave propagates downstream the valve, inducing a complicated unsteady flow field. The moving shock wave may exert severe load to the structure. So, to reduce the load acting on the wall of POSRV, a gradual opening of POSRV is adopted in general. In theses connections, a numerical work is performed to investigate the effect of valve opening time on the unsteady flow fields downstream of the valve. Compressible, two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations are used with the finite volume method. The obtained results show that sharp pressure rise through moving shock tor the case of instant opening is attenuated by employing the gradual opening of valve. It is turned that the flows for the two cases of gradual valve opening time show the similar to that of highly under-expanded one in jet structure having expansion and compression waves and Mach stem. Also, comparing with the results for the two cases of opening time, the shorter the valve opening is, the pressure gradient at the downstream of the valve becomes softly.
Video-assisted thoracic surgery[VATS] has recently evolved as an alternative to thoracotomy for several thoracic disorders. Between March 1993 and September 1993, 42 patients underwent VATS at Gil General Hospital. They were diagnosed as spontaneous pneumothorax in 34[81.0%], mediastinal mass in 5, congenital lobar emphysema in 1, traumatic hemothorax in 1, and sarcoidosis in 1. For pneumothorax, wedge resection of bullae or blebs was done in 18 patients, wedge resection and limited parietal pleulectomy in 13, and only pleulectomy in 2. And excision for mediastinal mass in 5, hematoma evacuation for chronic hemothorax in 1, biopsies of mediastinal lymph node and lung for confirming sarcoidosis in 1, and lobectomy of left upper lobe for congenital lobar emphysema in the child of 12 years. The period of chest tube drainage and postoperative hospitalization averaged 3.8 days [range, 1 to 11 days] and 5.9 days [range, 2 to 18 days]. Three complications occurred in 3 patients with pneumothorax [7.1%, 2 recurrent pneumothorax and 1 postoperative bleeding], and the conversion to open thoracotomy was done in 1 due to massive air leak. The causes of postoperative air leak were speculated and the techniques for saving expensive Endo-GIA staplers are described in this paper. VATS is safe and offers the benefits of reduced postoperative pain and rapid recovery. Our experience indicates a markedly expanded role for VATS in the diagnosis and treatment of various thoracic diseases.
In the present work, a new hydrogen added argon heat treatment process that prevents the formation of hydrides and eliminates the dehydrogenation step, is developed. Dissolved hydrogen has a good effect on sintering properties such as oxidation resistance and density of greens. This process can also reduce costs and processing time. In the experiment, commercially available Ti-6Al-4V powders are used. The powders are annealed using tube furnace in an argon atmosphere at $700^{\circ}C$ and $900^{\circ}C$ for 120 min. Hydrogen was injected temporarily during argon annealing to dissolve hydrogen, and a dehydrogenation process was performed simultaneously under an argon-only atmosphere. Without hydride formation, hydrogen was dissolved in the Ti-6Al-4V powder by X-ray diffraction and gas analysis. Hydrogen is first solubilized on the beta phase and expanded the beta phases' cell volume. TGA analysis was carried out to evaluate the oxidation resistance, and it is confirmed that hydrogen-dissolved Ti-6Al-4V powders improves oxidation resistance more than raw materials.

The purpose of this paper is to identify keywords related to museums, gamification, and visitors, and provide basic data that the museum market can be expanded by using gamification. That used to collect data for blogs, news, cafes, intellectuals, academic information by Naver and Daum which is Web documents in Korea, and Google Web, news, Facebook, Baidu, YouTube, and Twitter for analysis. For the data analysis period, a total of one year of data was selected from April 16, 2020 to April 16, 2021, after Corona. For data collection and analysis, the frequency and matrix of keywords were extracted through Textom, a social matrix site, and the relationship and connection centrality between keywords were analysed and visualized using the Netdraw function in the UCINET6 program. In addition, We performed CONCOR analysis to derive clusters for similar keywords. As a result, a total of 25,761 cases that analysing the keywords of museum, gamification and visitors were derived. This shows that the museum, gamification, and spectators are related to each other. Furthermore, if a system using gamification is developed for museums, the museum market can be developed.
