A Study on the Space Narrative of Museum Exhibition through the Narrativity Expression - Focused on the Jeon-gok Prehistory Museum - (서사성 발현을 통한 뮤지엄 전시의 공간 내러티브에 관한 연구 - 전곡선사박물관의 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • Modern museums introduce a so-called method of 'exhibitions that approach' apart from the scheme of exhibitions in a simple listing type, creating a series of stories based on the original forms of remains put on display, adopting various methods of media access, and enabling the spectators of the museums to find exhibits a little more convincing and understand them more in depth, which might look somewhat isolated from their everyday lives. The configuration of the exhibitions that approach can easily be found in the mode of narrative development of exhibition topics and scenarios, and in this sense, a study on the narrativity of exhibitions is effective for analyzing the exhibition spaces of the museums. Furthermore, an analysis on exhibition spaces may be conducted through the process of forming the messages of exhibition contents and interpreting the narrative structures of the modes of development, and allows people to think that the methods of interpreting the spaces established like this may form an organic complementary relationship with exhibition contents and have a more extended meaning. Thus, this study examines the narrativity of Jeon-gok prehistory museum and the narrative structure systems based on the structuralist narrative theory, approaches the modes of narrative development of the spaces based on semiotic judgment, and aims to understand the structures of the space narrative. In addition, It is another object of the present invention in order to verify the objectivity, throughout the course of additional case studies, to improve the efficiency of future exhibition design.

  • This dissertation is a web-based cyber exhibition website and a clear difference between the general framework of the development breaks out, the cyber exhibition framework can be a model for the purpose of the proposal.   • Recently, according to the being activated exhibition, it has been focused on the participants in order to enhance its interest and satisfaction. Consequently it is set up the model of research and the hypotheses based on the leading study of the physical environment of the exhibition and experience This study would like to analyze how the physical environments of the exhibition are effected on the factor of the experience and the participants' satisfaction. It also would like to check the factor of the experience to promote the participants' call and provide the useful information for the exhibitors to raise the participants' satisfaction. Being set the physical environment of the exhibition(layout accessibility, Facility aesthetics, facility cleanliness, convenience, comfort, human services) as a independent variable and fix the factor of experience (sense, feel, think, act and relate) as a parameter, the participants' satisfaction is identified. As a result of the research, the factor of experience is affected by the physical environment of the exhibition and the participants' satisfaction is affected by the factor of the experience. Therefore, the exhibitors have to consider the physical environments of the exhibition and the factor of experience for making the participants' satisfaction high when they hold the exhibitions.

Analysis of Interaction by Exhibition Type of Virtual Museum (가상 뮤지엄의 전시유형별 상호작용 분석)

  • With the real museum changing from a center of viewing to a center of experience and communication, virtual museums have become independent as well as auxiliary and alternative roles for real museums. Therefore, it is necessary to review the concept and meaning of virtual museums and analyze the attributes of each exhibition type. This paper categorizes the exhibition types of virtual museums into four categories and analyzes the interaction methods of each exhibition type. The essential characteristics of interaction subjects affect all four types, but the method of virtual expression is distinguished, and the exhibition type that actively utilizes the virtuality of exhibition space and work expands the user's experience and communication. In this study, various forms and methods of construction of virtual museums can be explored by providing characteristics and considerations for each type of exhibition during the planning and construction of virtual museums.

  • In order to verify the validity of the exhibition moethod in a science museum, this study undertakes a visitor follow-up survey, and clarifies the influence an exhibition method affect visitor's behavior, and its feature. The tracking research performed the visitor follow-up survey to family company children. The characteristic of the visitor's behavior by the exhibition method; Use frequency becomes low in order of 'Experience type' 'Participation type' 'Fixed type'. Experience type has tendencies, such as repetitive and continuing use, and use time was long. Otherwise use time of Fixed type was short. As a result, although the use frequency of Hands-on is high and its use time is longer than Hands-off, it turns out that is influenced according to factors, such as the exhibition method, presentation and the contents of exhibition.

  • What kind of information is it got in an exhibition space? And any order is determined and can read an exhibition? Is application possible with interactive design in an exhibition space? All elements must be reflected in an information design in addition to a biological process and perception process. Various uncertainty, a little information about exhibition contents and negative attitude, various ways of thinking, time physical a few psychological fatigue, uncertain target will be for these reasons. When configuration of a space and a human biological element are satisfied in an information design by physical configuration, maximization of a communication between exhibition water and visitor firm names will consist in a museum.

An Analysis of evaluations of Exhibition Design for Cheongju International Craft Biennale (청주국제공예비엔날레 전시회장 조성에 관한 평가와 분석)

  • Cheoungju International Craft Biennale is not just an art exhibition but more like a pubic festival which is including an experiential learning and a public participation section as well as a special exhibition and an international competition section. Thus it is strongly required to present an appropriate meaning and mood corresponding to each exhibition hall. The paper has examined the exhibition topics during the last 10 years and the plannings and contents to install the exhibition hall according the yearly topic and it has analyzed the comprehensive evaluations after the exhibition. The research scope is limited to the part related to the exhibition hall and facilities, which is including calculation of dimensions and layout, access and movement system, the appropriateness of the design and construction period, measure of applied technology appropriateness, post management as well as planning intent, estimation of the number of the visitors, preliminaries. With the results shown in the comprehensive evaluation and analysis, the paper has presented two issues, the one related to the procensure and preparation and the other related to the facilities. It is showed that both problems are due to the lack of expertise and it is necessary for the experts to participate from the first step of the procedure including planning for the successful exhibition. For the appropriate exhibition hall corresponding to the exhibition planning and scale, it is required to have the professional considerations of successful space and visitor's movement management, display environment, construction method, and post management. The study presents that architectural and interior design have to take an active part in constructing exhibition design in overall stage including the initial, practice, and evaluation stage.

  • As the influence of social networking services across the societies becomes greatly higher, many of the domestic agencies are trying to communicate with users through the introduction of social networking services. In this paper, we present a reliable exhibition-related contents recommendation service to combine social networking service concept with the customized contents recommendation method we previously proposed. The proposed service may effectively and reliably recommend its users exhibition-related contents by exploiting their relationships in the social networks compared with the existing ones.

  • This study examined the Presence experience, resulting effects, and re-viewing intentions of visitors to experiential exhibition content. For this purpose a survey was conducted targeting 246 visitors to experiential exhibition content based on Hyecho's travel story and SilkRoad cultural heritage. As a result of the survey, understanding and interest in the content material and similar exhibition viewing experience did not affect Presence experience. In addition the higher the Presence experience of exhibition content, the greater the awareness and emotion that is the effect of Presence. And among the effects of Presence, emotion had a positive effect on revisiting intentions. Therefore, it was confirmed that future experiential exhibition contents require planning, production, and exhibition that allow users to experience Presence.
