Although concentrations of hazardous air pollutants(HAPs) are very low in the atmosphere, a growing attention has been paid on such compounds due to their high toxicity and bioaccumulation potentials into human body. In order to control and manage the amount of these materials in ambient air, it is necessary to construct monitoring system of them and to know the current concentration level of HAPs above all. In this work, a wide range of HAPs has been measured in metropolitan area to recognize the present state of HAPs in this area. The measured concentration of VOCs was higher in order of Jeonnongdong, Jeongdong, and Yangsuri. The regional difference of VOCs concentration was also highest in spring. Its total VOCs was ranged from $15.17{\sim}41.45$ ppb. Benzene $0.43{\sim}2.32$ ppb showed similar concentration level with the result of previous researches in Seoul. This value is a little higher than the average concentration 0.92 ppb for national ambient air quality standards in Japan. The concentration of aldehydes in this study was lower than those of other researches. Previous works in Seoul metropolitan area showed that the concentration of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde were higher than 5 ppb. The concentration of gaseous and particulate PAHs was high in order of winter, spring, and summer More than 90% of PAHs with low molecular weight such as 2-rings and 3-rings PAHs existed in gas phase. On the other hands, PAHs with high molecular weight more than 5-rings PAHs almost existed in particulate. In spring, the concentration of gaseous PAHs was 24.38 $ng/m^3$ in Jeongdong. Among the particulate PAHs, the concentrations of Naphthalene, Benzo(b)fluoranthene, and Benzo(g, h, i)perylene were higher than others. Especially, the concentration of Benzo(a)pyrene, a important carcinogenic pollutant, was highest in winter 0.5 $ng/m^3$ and ranged from 0.03 to 0.3 $ng/m^3$ in spring and summer, which is lower than the monitoring result in 90's. These components were mainly originated from the vehicle exhaust or heating equipment use.

We examine the processing method of the food wastewater to direct spray at living waste incinerator. The demoscale stoker system is used as a incineration facility. The results show that it brings effect on the reduction of nitrogen oxide ($NO_x$) concentration as well as the ammonia ($NH_3$) amount in SNCR (selective non-catalytic reduction) by the incineration of food wastewater which is containing a plentiful ammoniac nitrogen ($NH_3$-N). Furthermore, the stability of incineration facility and the extension of operation period is actualized as a improvement of clogging phenomenon on outer wall of water pipe as the 870~$950^{\circ}C$ maintain of exit temperature in a second combustor by spray of the food wastewater. The 26 items of air pollution matter of nitrogen oxide ($NO_x$), sulfur oxide ($SO_x$) and dioxin etc. are measured. The results show that it is under the value of allowable exhaust standard.

In recent years, gas engines fueled with LNG or synthetic gas have been attracting considerable attention for marine use owing to their potential to facilitate better fuel economy and to reduce emissions. It has been confirmed that gas engines using the Otto cycle, which involves premixed combustion, can satisfy Tier III regulations without the EGR or SCR system. The objective of this study is to acquire simulation technologies for predicting gas engine performances in industrial fields. Using the commercial software BOOST, the simulation is conducted on a gasoline engine rather than a marine engine due to the gasoline engine's easier accessibility. This study consists of two stages. In the first stage published previously, the optimal modeling techniques for representing the behavior of the gas in the intake and exhaust systems were determined. In the current study, we formulated a method to evaluate the combustion and heat transfer processes in the cylinder and to ultimately determine the major performance parameters, given that the analytical model derived from the previous stage has been applied. Through this study, we were able to determine a combustion and heat transfer model and a valve discharge coefficient that are less reliant on empirical data: we were also able to formulate a methodology through which relevant constants are decided. We confirmed that the values of transient cylinder pressure variation, indicated mean effective pressure, and air supply can be successfully predicted using our modeling techniques.

We carry out an experimental investigation to analyze the basic performance of NO(nitric oxide) storage in a lean phase and also analyze the NO reduction achieved by the spraying of reducing agents in the rich phase of the exhaust gas in an LNT(Lean NOx Trap). This is an after-treatment system used to reduce the NOx emissions from a diesel engine. If the stored NO is reduced, we measure the outlet concentration downstream of the LNT. The test LNT material used in the experiments is commercial LNT. After being canned into stainless-steel(SUS304), it was built in a micro bench-flow reactor. Compositions of feed gases, three heated and three no heated gases were sprayed upstream of the LNT to analyze the characteristics. We use various temperatures and space velocities as response variables.

Demand for cosmetics with functionality and eco-friendliness has increased dramatically due to recent aging, well-being trends, and increased interest in beauty. Cosmetics production in 2014 was 8,970.4 billion won, an increase of about 50% compared to 6,014.6 billion won in 2010. In the midst of this, similar companies in intense competition are pursuing differentiated strategies and innovation activities to solve quality, price and delivery problems. In particular, cosmetics packaging work is getting more difficult due to the increasing bill of materials (BOM) and difficult assembly methods. Therefore, in this study, the following problems were identified and suggestions for the improvement of the packaging Many research laboratories such as biotechnology, chemistry, and pharmaceuticals, which are undergoing various studies, are equipped with ready-made laboratory safety equipments such as bio-safety workbenches, aseptic bases, and exhaust workbenches. However, most researchers are disadvantaged in using existing safety equipment. This is because existing safety equipment can not take into account all of the unique characteristics of the research. For this reason, researchers are demanding the development of customized safety equipment that is well suited to their research needs. process of Company C, which is facing difficult situation to respond to the customer 's delivery due to the 52 - hour work week. First, we used the stopwatch to find the difficulty process in the packaging process and show ways to improve it. Second, to improve the efficiency of line balancing in the packaging process, we integrate processes, improve work methods, and perform simple automation. As a result, the prepare loss for replacement was reduced by 1 minute from 5 minutes, resulting in a 23% increase in productivity from 112 ea./hour to 137ea./ hour per person. At this time, the LOB of the packaging process was improved from 70% to 82% by operating one more production line through one person per line, total 9 people saving.

The deactivated catalyzed diesel particulate filter-trap (DPF) was remanufactured by ultrasonic wave treatment with various prepared solutions, followed by active component re-impregnation, and the emission control performance and surface properties of remanufactured DPF were studied at various remanufacturing conditions. The proper ultrasonic wave cleaning time at various prepared solutions and optimal re-impregnation amounts of active component for the best emission control performance of DPF were investigated and its performance tests were also carried out with various temperatures for the conversions of CO, THC (total hydrocarbon) and PM (particulate matter) by catalytic reaction test unit using bypass gas from the diesel engine dynamo system. It was found that the emission control performance of DPF remanufactured with the high-temperature air washing, ultrasonic wave cleaning at acid/base solutions and active component re-impregnation method was recovered to 95% level of its activity compared to that of the fresh DPF, which was caused by removing the deactivating materials from the surface of the DPF, through the analyses of performance test and their surface characterization by Optical microscope, EDX, ICP, TGA, and porosimeter.

The International Maritime Organization recently proposed a policy to establish a preemptive response strategy for exhaust gas pollution on board ships according to the recent strengthening of the sulfur content regulations. Discussions on improving the fuel oil quality and reducing emissions are also ongoing. Fuel oil quality information, which is one of the main concerns internationally, is increasing as the sulfur content standard is being applied from the current 3.5% to 0.5% by 2020. From the perspective of shipping companies and recipients, the essential quality of fuel oil is also requested for domestic and international fuel oil information, basic properties, correlation information between characteristics for application of solid ships and ships. The current standard for the basic quality of fuel oil is generally used, but the nature and composition of the fuel oil are very complex, and the interpretation of the basic quality is complicated because there are many cases outside the scope of the basic standard. Various factors were analyzed for the basic quality of fuel oil in terms of the basic quality of fuel oil, optimization of operation in ships, and fuel efficiency in ships. Moreover, the possibility of applying the standard according to the dilution was suggested.

This paper is a purpose to study the failure example for heavy-duty vehicle fire. The first example, the researcher found the engine over-heating phenomenon causing a coolant leakage by the sealing poor of head-gasket because of D-ring part deformation contacting with cylinder liner top-part and cylinder head. He certified a fire breakout by short transferred to surrounding wiring of air-cleaner. The second example, a brake lining by return fault of break operating S cam causing with much wear of a rear 4 wheel brake lining repeatably was worn by friction. In the long run, it became the cause of fire. The third example, the researcher knew the fire cause was came about the short of wire by overload of tilting motor when the driver tilted up the cap to inspect a engine. Therefore, a heavy-duty fire must minimize the fire occurrence by thorough controlling.
Air pollutants have a high impact on everyday life as well as on human health; therefore, new technologies such as low-emission vehicles and add-on systems for air pollutant reduction are needed for our society. However, the environmental benefits and costs of those technologies are not taken into account in existing economic feasibility assessments, which is a barrier that needs to be overcome for green technology to achieve wide dissemination and fast penetration in the market. Thus, this study develops a methodology to assess the economic feasibility of an air pollutant reduction technology by taking into account the social costs from air pollutants and carries out a case study to validate the methodology. Because the social unit costs for air pollutants have not been evaluated yet in South Korea, the methodology uses the social unit costs evaluated for the European Union that are then converted to those for South Korea based on the measuring criteria for vehicle emission gases, parity purchasing price, foreign currency exchange rate, and customer price index. The social unit costs for South Korea are used to assess economic feasibility. A case study was performed to assess the economic feasibility of a dual fuel system using diesel and compressed natural gas by taking into account social costs from air pollutants as well as economic costs. This study could contribute to assessing the true economic feasibility of green technology, projects, and policy related with air pollutant reduction.
