선로부 TES를 갖는 지하철 역사내 화재의 수치 해석 (A NUMERICAL STUDY ON THE FIRE EMERGENCY IN THE UNDERGROUND STATION WITH TRACKWAY EXHAUST SYSTEM (TES))

  • In the present study, a numerical simulation of the subway carriage fire is performed to determine the more effective operation of Trackway Exhaust System(TES) in underground stations. The four types of possible TES operation (OSUS, OSUE, OEUS and OEUE) is simulated and compared their removal capability of smoke and hot temperature for the carriage fire of 2MW. From the results, the distribution of temperature and smoke concentration is more dependent on the operation of fans located at upper side of the platform than those at lower side. It is also found from the results that for more efficient smoke control, the fans at upper side of the platform should be operated as an exhaust system. Whereas the fans at lower side can be operated as a supply system to aid upper exhaust fans.

  • In order to control indoor air quality and save energy, it is needed to install a suitable ventilation system equipped with heat exchanger for heat recovery. The purpose of this research is to find the performance of paper heat exchanger for exhaust heat recovery, which exchanges latent heat as well as sensible heat. Experimental apparatus comprises heat exchanger model, constant temperature and humidity chamber, fan and measurement systems for temperature, pressure and flow rate. Thermal performance and pressure loss of the paper heat exchanger are measured and compared at various air velocities and outdoor conditions. Experimental results show that paper heat exchanger can recover $50{\sim}70%$ of the enthalpy difference between supply and exhaust air.

상용부동액 종류에 따른 자동차 배출가스의 실험적 연구 (According to the type of commercial antifreeze experimental study of vehicle emissions)

  • 자동차 배출가스는 자동차에 의해 발생되는 일산화탄소, 탄화수소, 납 외에 사람의 건강 또는 생활 환경에 피해를 일으킬 염려가 있는 물질을 말한다. 배출가스를 감소시키기 위해서 다양한 기술을 개발하는 것도 중요하지만 현재 사용되어 지고 있는 요소를 분석하여 최적의 상태를 찾는 것도 중요한 사항이라 여겨진다. 본 연구는 냉각수에 함유되는 부동액이 배출가스에 영향을 미칠 수 있음에 착안하여 현재 국내에서 시판되고 있는 5개 회사제품의 부동액을 권고 수준의 양을 냉각수에 함유시켜 HC, NOx, $CO_2$ 배출량을 측정하고 배출가스에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 또한, 5개회사 부동액 제품에 대하여 냉각팬 구동시간과 NOx 배출량과의 상관관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 엔진오일의 온도는 자동차 검사 규격에 맞도록 $90{\sim}93^{\circ}C$에 맞추었고, 수동기어를 사용하는 소형승용차의 검사 규격 속도 $40{\pm}2Km/h$에서 수행하였다. 실험결과 D사 부동액이 팬 작동시간이 가장 짧고, $CO_2$, NOx 배출량이 가장 적게 나타났다.

대형 컨테이너선의 배기가스 역류 개선 방안 연구 (Prevention of Exhaust Gas Back Flow in Large Container Carriers)

  • Prevention of exhaust gas back flow becomes a great interest to shipyards and shipowners in large container carriers because exhaust gas pollutes cargoes, flows back into the deck house and the engine room area through fresh air intakes and fan rooms, gives harmful damages to the crew's health and also gives thermal damages to electric equipments on the navigation deck. The phenomena of exhaust gas back flow has been studied with the analysis of sea trial records and wind tunnel tests and the height of the exhaust gas pipe, the front area of the deck house, the inflow speed and the position of the radar mast platform has been confirmed as the principal factors of exhaust gas back flow phenomena. The simple empirical formula to estimate exhaust gas back flow phenomena and the design guidances of exhaust gas related structures on deck has been introduced. In future, parametric studies for the exhaust gas back flow factors will be carried out with the CFD analysis. The results of this study will be the guide for development of the prevention method of exhaust gas back flow phenomena for large container carriers.

  • Recently technology resulted in highly efficient and multiple-functional electric appliances considering environmental problems. One of the environmental problems is noise of a product in respect to its function. A vacuum cleaner is an essential electric appliance in our daily lives. However, severe noise resulted from high motor speed for improving the function of the appliance is a nuisance for the user. This noise is caused by vibration from various parts of the appliance and fluid noise during a series of intake and exhaust processes while rotating the impeller connected to the axle at a high speed of the fan motor inside the vacuum cleaner rotating around 30,000-35,000rpm. Despite the fact that many researchers conducted studies on reducing the noise level of the fan motor in a vacuum cleaner, only few studies have been conducted considering both the theoretical and experimental aspects using fluid analysis by measuring vibration and noise. Moreover, there has not been a study that accurately compared major noise data obtained considering both of the aspects. In this study, both aspects were considered by considering the following experimental and theoretical methods to verify the major causes of noise from the fan motor in a vacuum cleaner.

가연성 배기덕트-흄 화재위험성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire Risk Assessment of Combustible Exhaust Duct-fume)

  • When back-out & firing Process applies heat, hume is piled up in exhaust duct by organic compound and it have high dangerousness. There by, the process is happening a lot of damage that is exhaust duct fire. However we do not have certain fire dangerousness estimation and digestion countermeasure. So we need preventive measure. Back-out & firing is a process which has fine structure, electrical and mechanical characteristics, such as firing kiln and back-out kiln which has pipe line and box type. The box oven is made of heating coil, fan motor and control panel. Back-out & firing process has air circulation institution of quick ventilation type. When we operate this process for long time, fire can break out easily. Duct is made by zinc shredder. If fire breaks out in duct inside, fire by deposit fume can be dispersed easily. Accordinglym, This project estimate danger for back-out & firing process exhaust duct through real fire test. And there is purpose of study to establish preventive measure.

관내 유속을 고려한 상선의 배기관용 소음기의 성능실험연구 (An experimental study on the performance of silencers for exhaust merchant ships considering air flow velocity)

  • 선박의 주기관 및 발전기의 실린더내의 폭발소음은 배기관을 통하여 연돌 상부에서 전파되어 인접한 거주구 상층부 및 bridge wing 등의 소음을 증가시키는 주 요인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 실제의 배기관인 400mm 및 600mm의 지름의 관에 대하여 0m/s 및 32m/s의 유속에 대하여 25dB 및 35dB silencer에 대하여 감음 성능을 실험하였다. 관내 유속은 축류 팬에 의하여 발생시켰고 실제 소음기(silencer)를 사용하여 감음 성능을 실측하였다.

강제환기를 이용한 하절기 군 저장시설의 표면결로 방지에 관한 연구 (Forced Ventilation Method for Preventing Surface Condensation of Magazine of Igloo type in Summer)

  • In case of earth-covered storage, the condensation occurs on surface of wall and stores in summer with high humidity because of low temperature of constructional mass. Therefore, the preventive plans should be considered to protect stores from the damage by corrosion in earth-covered storages. This study aims to suggest the methods of forced ventilation by the air, to solve the problems of construction's surface condensation at the Magazine of igloo type which is similar to earth-covered storages. A fan was installed at the air outlet for exhaust gas to conduct forced ventilation. The surface and indoor temperature were measured, and then the influence of those on condensation was analyzed. The results of this research are follows; 1) Forced ventilation by a fan affects the rise in surface temperature of walls and stores. 2) The condensation on surface of walls and stores was reduced after operating a fan.

라이너가 있는 덕트의 소음방사 특성에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study of Radiation Effect from Ducted Fans with Liners)

  • Over the last few decades, noise has played a major role in the development of aircraft engines. The dominant noise is generated by the wake interactions of fan and downstream stator. Engine inlet and exhaust ducts are being fitted with liner materials that aid in damping fan related noise. In this paper, the radiation of duct internal noise from duct open ends with liners is studies via numerical methods. The linearized Euler's equations in generalized curvilinear coordinates are solved by the DRP scheme. The far field sound pressure levels are computed by the Kirchhoff integration method. Through comparison of sound directivity from bell-mouth duct with and without liners, it is shown that radiation from engine inlet is affected by liner effects or a soft wall boundary condition.
