Sandwich structures of$ Nd_2Fe_{14}B/Fe/Nd_2Fe_{14}B $magnetic films have been grown by a KrF excimer laser (λ=248 nm) ablation technique. Magnetic properties were characterized by varying the thickness of hard ($Nd_2Fe_{14}B$) and soft (Fe) magnetic films and the volume fraction as well. In the (x)nm[NdFeB]/(y)nm[Fe]/(x)nm[NdFeB]/(100) Si structure the thickness (x) was varied from 3.6 to 54 nm, and (y) from 15 to 112 nm. At (y) = 15~20 nm where the volume fraction of Fe corresponded to 61~75%, the sandwich structure exhibited an enhanced Mr/Ms and iHc as well from the result of the exchange coupling between the magnetic layers. Experimentally calculated exchange constant$ (A_s) of A_s = 2.5{\times}10^{-10} J/m$ was estimated using the intrinsic coercivity (iHc) of 1.2 kOe at 5 K for the sandwich magnetic trilayers.
The relationship between ferromagnet anisotropic magnetization and the antiferromagnet atomic spin configuration was investigated for various angles of the uniaxial deposition magnetic field of the FeMn layer in the Corning glass/Ta(5nm)/NiFe(7nm)/FeMn(25nm)/Ta(5nm) multilayer that was prepared by the ion beam sputter deposition. The exchange bias field ($H_{ex}$) obtained from the measurement of the easy-axis MR loop decreased to 40 Oe at the deposition field angle of $45^{\circ}$, and to 0 Oe at the angle of $90^{\circ}$. When the difference between the uniaxial axis between the ferromagnet NiFe and the antiferromagnet FeMn was $90^{\circ}$, the strong antiferromagnetic dipole moment of FeMn caused the weak ferromagnetic dipole moment of NiFe to rotate in the interface.
We have studied the magnetoresistance phenomena on spin valve thin films of antiferromagnetic NiO/CoO. Interlayer coupling oscillates between the antiferrocoupling and ferrocoupling with the variation of Cu thickness. The exchange coupling strength between NiO (antiferromagnetic) and NiFe(ferromagnetic) as a function of NiO texture and interface roughness is investigated by CoO insertion. CoO has significantly higher anisotropy in the (111) plane and interface roughness. It seems that the MR-ratio is increased by CoO inserted films. From the AFM and XRD data, the increase of MR-ratio and exchange field is influenced by the roughness of CoO.
Dependence of interlayer exchange coupling on antiferromagnetic IrMn thickness, thermal stability, and parallel anisotropy angle in perpendicular anisotropy [CoFe/Pt/CoFe]/IrMn multilayers was investigated. The magnetic property of [CoFe($10{\AA}$)/Pt($8{\AA}$)/CoFe($10{\AA}$)] induced by antiferromagnetic ordering of IrMn layer was maintained a stable perpendicular anisotropy up to $250^{\circ}C$ and from $7{\AA}$ to $160{\AA}$ of IrMn thickness. The value of interlayer exchange coupling of [CoFe/Pt/CoFe]/IrMn multilayers with perpendicular anisotropy increased to 1.5 times at anisotropy angle of $60^{\circ}$ more than of $0^{\circ}$. On the other side, the interlayer exchange coupling at anisotropy angle of $90^{\circ}$ was $\infty$ Oe, it was likely diverted to a parallel shape magnetization.
Experimental magnetization-temperature curves for melt-spun ribbons of amorphous alloys (Dy$\_$0.33/Fe$\_$0.67/)$\_$1-x/B$\_$x/(x=0 ,0.05, 0.1, and 0.15) and (Sm$\_$0.33/Fe$\_$0.67/)$\_$1-x/B$\_$x/(x=0, 0.01, 0.02, and 0.03) (in atomic fraction) are fitted with theoretical equations based on the mean field theory in order to calculate exchange couplings between constituent elements as a function of the B content. In the case of the DyFe$_2$-B system, the sign of the exchange coupling between Dy and Fe is negative, indicating that the magnetization direction of Dy is antiparallel to that of Fe. The sign of the other two couplings are positive indicating a parallel alignment. The exchange coupling between Fe ions are greatest, while that between Dy ions is negligible. In the case of the SmFe$_2$B alloys, the sign of all the couplings are positive, indicating ferromagnetic coupling between the spins. The exchange couplings between Fe ions, and Fe and Sm are comparable to each other, but they are much greater than that between Sm ions. The high exchange coupling between Fe and Sm, which is considered to occur indirectly, is rather unexpected, but it is considered to be unique characteristics of amorphous Sm-Fe alloys. In both alloy systems, the exchange coupling between Fe ions increases with increasing B content. and this may be explained by the increase of the Fe-Fe separation with increasing B content. The exchange coupling between Fe and RE also increases with increasing B content. As the B content increases, the magnetization decreases over the whole temperature range, and the Curie temperature also decreases.

We have investigated the characteristics of planar optical waveguides formed by silver ion-exchange. Experimental values of the effective indices of guided modes were obtained by measuring the synchronous angles of strongest coupling. Definition of an effective diffusion constant leads to the mode-dispersion curves applicable over a wide range of fabrication conditions. In order to compare experimental and theoretical results, We have plotted each mode index of a wide range of fabrication conditions.

As for marine propulsion shafting system using 4 stroke diesel engine, it is common to apply reduction gear box between diesel engine and shafting with a view of increasing mechanical efficiency, which inevitably require elastic coupling due to avoid chattering and hammering inside of gear box. In this study, optimum method of rectifying propulsion shafting system in case of 750ton fishing vessel specially in a view of torsional vibration, is theoretically studied. After exchange of diesel engine and gear box, analysis result of torsional vibration get worse and so some countermeasure are needed. The elastic coupling is modified from present block type rubber coupling showing relatively high torsional stiffness to rubber coupling with two series elements directly connected. The vibration measurement using two laser torsion meters was done during sea trial, whose results are compared to those of calculation and verified.

The information in physical planning field shows the socio-economic potentials of land resources while cadastral data does the physical and legal realities of the land. The two domains commonly deal with land information but have different views. Cadastre has to evolved to the multi-purpose ones which provide value-added information and support a wide spectrum of decision makers by mixing their own information with other spatial/non-spatial databases. In this context, the demands of data exchange between the two domains is growing up but this cannot be done without resolving the heterogeneity between the two information applications. Both of either discipline sees the reality within its own scope, which means each has a unique way to abstract real world phenomena to the database. The heterogeneity problem emerges when an GIS is autonomously and independently established. It causes considerable communication difficulties since heterogeneity of representations forms unique data semantics for each database. The semantic heterogeneity obviously creates an obstacle to data exchange but, at the same time, it can be a key to solve the problems too. Therefore, the study focuses on facilitating data sharing between the fields of cadastre and physical planning by resolving the semantic heterogeneity. The core job is developing a conversion mechanism of cadastral data into the information for the physical planning by DB coupling techniques.

Many of the spin valve multilayer structures with FeMn as antiferromagnetic layer consist of a NiFe/FeMn/NiFe trilayer where the bottom NiFe layer is the seed layer to facilitate the growth of (111) gama-FeMn antiferromagnetic phase and the top NiFe layer forms the pinned layer[1], In this study, exchange bias of bottom NiFe layer has been investigated as functions of thicknesses of top and bottom NiFe in NiFe/FeMn/NiFe, prepared by rf magnetron sputtering, MH-loop was measured by vibration sample magnetometer (VSM). Two hysteresis loops are corresponded to bottom and top layers, similar to reported loops in spin valve structure. Exchange bias of bottom NiFe could be induced by the interfacial coupling between bottom NiFe and FeMn. But those coupling are strongly dependent on the top and bottom NiFe thicknesses, revealing anomalous character ul exchange bias of bottom NiFe layer.
