유기중합물이 토양의 입단화와 페레니얼 라이그래스의 성장에 미치는 영향 (Evaluating the Influence of Liquid Organic Polymer on Soil Aggregation and Growth of Perennial Ryegrass)

  • 토양입단화는 토양의 물리적 화학적 그리고 생물학적인 변화를 일으키는 활발한 과정이다. 토양입단화를 통해서 생성된 토양공극은 토양에서 공기와 물의 순환을 증가시키는 역할을 하게 된다. 유기중합물이 토양입단 안정화에 대한 긍정적인 역할은 많은 연구결과에서 보고가 된 바 있다. 본 실험의 목적은 유기중합물이 토양입단화와 페레니얼 라이그래스의 성장에 미치는 영향에 대해서 알아보기 위해서 수행되었다. 유기중합물의 세가지 농도가 적용이 되었으며 실험을 위해 두가지 토양이 사용이 되었다. 첫번째 토양으로 4.0%의 유기물이 함유된 양토가 건조된 후 사용이 되었으며 두번째 토양으로 점토가 사용이 되었다. 유기중합물 처리에 따른 페레니얼 라이그래스의 색, 품질, 성장에 미치는 영향은 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 유기중합물이 토양입단화에는 토양의 종류에 따라 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 실험의 결과의 구체적인 실증을 위해서 필드 실험이 필요한 것으로 판단이 된다.

토양분석치(土壤分析値)에 의(依)한 작물별(作物別) 인산(燐酸) 및 가리시비량(加里施肥量) 결정법(決定法) (Recommendation of P and K Fertilizers for Crops Based on Soil Testing)

  • Upon the assumption that the available components in the soil evaluated by present analytical procedures, are as effective as the components applied to the soil as fertilizer, some formulas for the calculation of fertilizer requirements (F. R) for crops are suggested. Basically, the formulas are derived by combining the country average values of soil test data(${\overline{ST}}$) and of the optimum rate of fertilizers (ORF) for crops obtained from N.P.K. trials in farmer's field, as following. $$F.R(kg/10a)={\overline{ST}}(kg/10a)+ORFkg/10a-ST(kg/10a)$$ where, ST denotes the available components tested in the soil under question. Although this formula can be used both for P and K fertilizers, considering the significance of the potassium saturation rate of the soil for the availability of K, for the calculation of K fertilizer requirement, following formula is suggested. $$F.R(kg/10a)=(C.E.C.{\times}B.S.R.K.-KST(me/100g){\times}CF$$ where, B. S. R. K. is the basic potassium saturation rate of the soil and CF is conversion factor for the conversion of K me/100g into $K_2O$ kg/10a. The B. S. R. K. for different crops are obtained from the country average values of soil exchangeable K (${\overline{KST}}$), cation exchange capacity (CEC) and the optimum rates of K fertilizers for crops (ORF $K_2O$). $$B.S.R.K.=\frac{{\overline{KST}}{\times}CF+ORF(K_2O)}{CEC{\times}CF}$$ Using these formulas, equations for P and K fertilizer requirements for rice, barley, wheat, corn, italian millet, soy bean, sweet potato, potato and rape are derived.

Atmospheric CO2 Uptake by Pinus densiflora and Quercus mongolica

  • Plants sequester atmospheric CO$_2$, a major agent of climate change, during the growing periods and mitigate its rising accumulation in the atmosphere. Pinus densiflora and Quercus mongolica are the native tree species dominant in the temperate forests of Korea. This study quantified the annual CO$_2$ uptake by the two species at forest sites in Chuncheon in the middle of the country. The quantification was based on seasonal measurements of CO$_2$ exchange rates under natural conditions by an infrared gas analyzer over the growing season (1999). The monthly CO$_2$ uptake per unit leaf area ranged from 1.6-6.7 mg/d㎡/h for P. densiflora and from 3.7-8.9 mg/d㎡/h for Q. mongolica, with a maximum in mid-summer. An equation for each species was generated to estimate easily the annual CO$_2$ uptake by total leaf area per tree, which subtracted the CO$_2$ release (i.e. respiration) by leaves and woody organs from the gross CO$_2$ uptake (diurnal uptake and release by leaves). Annual CO$_2$ release by leaves and woody organs accounted for 58-73% of the gross CO$_2$ uptake across tree specimens. Annual CO$_2$ uptake per tree increased with increasing dbh (stem diameter at breast height) for the study diameter range, and was greater for Q. mongolica than for P. densiflora in the same dbh sizes. This was mainly associated with a greater total leaf area in the former. For example, the annual CO$_2$ uptake by one tree with dbh of 25 cm was 35.6 kg/yr for P. densiflora and 47.9 kg/yr for Q. mongolica. The results from this study can be applied to evaluate an atmospheric CO$_2$ reduction of woody plants by forest type and age class.

cdma2000 Physical Layer: An overview

  • cdma2000 offers several enhancement as compared to TIA/EIA-95, although it remains fully compatible with TIA/EIA-95 systems and allows for a smooth migration from one to the other-Major new capability include:1)connectivity to GSM-MAP in addition to IP and IS-41 networks; 2) new layering with new LAC and MAC architectures for improved service multiplexing and QoS management and efficient use of radio resource ;3) new bands and band widths of operation in support of various operator need and constraints, as well as desire for a smooth and progressive migration to cdma 2000; and 4) flexible channel structure in support of multiple services with various QoS and variable transmission rates at up to 1 Mbps per channel and 2 Mbps per user. Given the phenomenal success of wireless services and desire for higher rate wireless services. improved spectrum efficiency was a major design goal in the elaboration of cdma2000. Major capacity enhancing features include; 1) turbo coding for data transmission: 2)fast forward link power control :3) forward link transmit diversity; 4) support of directive antenna transmission techniques; 5) coherent reverse link structure; and 6) enhanced access channel operation. As users increasingly rely on their cell phone at work and at home for voice and data exchange, the stand-by time and operation-time are essential parameters that can influence customer's satisfaction and service utilization. Another major goal of cdma2000 was therefore to enable manufacturers to further optimize power utilization in the terminal. Major battery life enhancing features include; 1) improved reverse link performance (i.e., reduced transmit power per information bit; 2) new common channel structure and operation ;3) quick paging channel operation; 4) reverse link gated transmission ; and 5) new MAC stated for efficient and ubiquitous idle time idle time operation. this article provides additional details on those enhancements. The intent is not to duplicate the detailed cdma2000 radio access network specification, but rather to provide some background on the new features of cdma2000 and on the qualitative improvements as compared to the TIA/EIA-95 based systems. The article is focused on the physical layer structure and associated procedures. It therefore does not cover the MAC, LAC, radio resource management [1], or any other signaling protocols in any detail. We assume some familiarity with the basic CDMA concepts used in TIA/EIA-95.

이온교환수지를 이용한 새로운 오메프라졸 복합체 개발 (Development of New Omeprazole-lon Exchange Resin Complex)

  • Omeprazole(OMZ)-cholestyramine(CHL) and various OMZ-Dowex resin complexes were prepared by reaction between OMZ and activated resins in 0.1N NaOH solution. And their physical properties were tested by means of infrared(IR), differential scaning caloimeter(DSC), X-ray diffraction. Chemical stability of OMZ-CHL was increased markedly compared with OMZ and the decomposition of OMZ-CHL followed the pseudo first-order kinetics and the rate constants were $2.743{\times}10^{-4}/day$ at $20^{\circ}C$, $7.83{\times}10^{-3}day^{-1}$ under 80% RH and $1.68{\times}10^{-2}day^{-1}$ under UV radiation, respectively. On the other hand, the rate constants of OMZ were $2.996{\times}10^{-4}day^{-1}$ at $20^{\circ}C$, $1.17{\times}10^{-2}day^{-1}$ under 85% RH, and $4.07{\times}10^{-2}day^{-1}$ under UV radiation, respectively. The rates of dissolution of OMZ-CHL bulk and OMZ-CHL tablet were 100% and more than 85% in 15 minutes, respectively, which were increased than OMZ base and OMZ-tablet. In the acute toxicological test, the value of oral $LD_{50}$(mouse) was 4.608 g/kg. OMZ-CHL was pelletized using lactose, polyethyle neglycol(PEG), D-sorbitol, Avicel PH 101, sodium laurylsulfate and polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) K-30, and enteric coated with HPMCP, Myvacet, acetone, ethanol and cetanol, of which dissolution rate was found to be more than 85% in 10 minutes. From the above results, it was found that OMZ-CHL is a useful means for development of new oral dosage forms of OMZ.

소형챔버를 이용한 드라이클리닝 모직물 목도리의 휘발성유기화합물 방출 특성 (VOC Emission Characteristics of Dry Cleaned Wool Scarfs through Small Chamber Test)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the emission of VOCs from clothing that had been dry cleaned. Methods: In order to ensure the same conditions, f100% wool scarves were selected as the fabric type. Four identical tests were conducted on the option of either removing the plastic bags which came from the dry cleaning shop or not. The scarf was located inside a closet or room for one or two days. Small chamber tests were conducted to determine the VOC emission characteristics under the same conditions such as temperature, humidity, loading factor, and air exchange rates. Air from the chamber for VOCs was sampled by Tenax TA tube and analyzed by thermal desorption and GC/MSD. Results: Assuming that test represented dry cleaning and consumer's conditions well enough, we can conclude that immediate emissions after the dry cleaning of the scarfs caused elevated levels of TVOC, five VOCs (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, stylene), and decane group compounds. Conclusions: By removing the plastic bags which came from the dry cleaning shop or not, the storage conditions of dry cleaned scarfs by consumers during the storage time periods (one to three days) would be significant for reducing VOC emissions.

특성별 리스크 분석을 통한 해외건설공사 현금흐름 예측에 관한 연구 (Cash flow Forecasting in International Construction Projects through Categorized Risk Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 우리 기업이 해외공사를 수행하기 위한 초기 계획과정 중 특성별 리스크 분석을 통한 현실적인 미래 현금흐름을 예측하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 건설 공사 현금흐름에 영향을 미치는 리스크를 해당 국가의 경제적 여건에 따른 재무적 리스크와 프로젝트 특성에 따라 내부적으로 발생할 수 있는 프로젝트 리스크로 구분하였으며, 각각의 발생 특성에 따라 적합한 현금흐름에의 적용방안을 제시하였다. 재무적 리스크는 리스크 자체의 변동성에 기초하므로 Monte-Carlo 시뮬레이션 기법을 사용하여 현금흐름의 변화폭을 예측하고 민감도 분석을 실시하였으며, 프로젝트 특성 리스크는 실무자의 주관적 판단에 따른 리스크 발생가능성을 체크리스트 형태로 예측한 후 이에 대한 관리자의 수용여부에 초점을 두었다. 이 과정에서 리스크 태도와 공사규모에 기초한 주요 관리대상 리스크를 선별하는 방안을 제시함으로써 리스크 발생에 대비하기 위한 예비비를 산정하는 공동적인 척도를 마련할 수 있다. 또한, 기존의 리스크 분석과정에서 발생확률과 피해금액에 의한 기대값을 사용하는 것에 대해 문제를 제기하고, 동계적 확률을 구하기 어려운 건설 프로젝트의 특성에 맞게 피해 예상금액을 현금흐름에 적용하는 방안을 제시함으로써 현실적인 현금흐름 예측을 가능케 하였다.

Unbounded Johnson 분포를 이용한 GARCH 수익률 모형의 적용 (GARCH Model with Conditional Return Distribution of Unbounded Johnson)

  • 주식, 환율 등과 같은 금융자료의 수익률의 분포는 정규분포에 비해 꼬리가 두껍고, 좌우 비대칭성을 보인다. 조건부수익률이 정규분포를 따른다고 가정한 GARCH 모형을 이용하여 VaR을 추정하였을 때, 이러한 비정규성 때문에 적절한 추정이 이루어지지 않고, VaR을 초과하는 손실의 발생과정에 군집(clustering)현상이 발생하는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 조건부수익률의 분포로 unbounded Johnson 분포를 이용한 GARCH 모형을 이용하여 VaR을 추정한다. 또한, 조건부수익률이 각각 정규분포, Student-t 분포를 따르는 GARCH 모형의 경우와 비교하였다. 초과손실 발생과정 자료를 이용하여 실패율검정과 군집성검정을 통해 조건부수익률 분포로 unbounded-Johnson 분포를 사용하는 방법의 타당성을 살펴보았다. Unbounded Johnson 분포가 조건부수익률 분포로 주어지는 GARCH 모형의 경우는 과소, 과대추정을 하지 않고, 군집현상 또한 발생하지 않아 적절한 추정을 하고 있음을 확인하였다.

Heterogeneous Catalysts for Hydrogen Generation Based on Ru-Incorporated Hydroxyapatite

  • Hydrolysis of sodium borohydride provides a safe and clean approach to hydrogen generation. Having the proper catalytic support for controlling this reaction is therefore a valuable technology. Here we demonstrate the capability of hydroxyapatite as a novel catalytic support material for hydrogen generation. Aside from being inexpensive and durable, we reveal that Ru ion exchange on the HAP surface provides a highly active support for sodium borohydride hydrolysis, exemplifying a high total turnover number of nearly 24,000 mol $H_2$/ mol Ru. Moreover, we observe that the RuHAP support exhibits a high catalytic lifetime of approximately one month upon repeated exposure to $NaBH_4$ solutions. In addition to examining surface area effects, we also identified the role of complex surface morphology in enhancing hydrolysis by the catalytic transition metal covered surface. Particularly, we found that a polycrystalline RuHAP catalytic support exhibits shorter induction times for the initial bubble formation as well as increased hydrogen generation rates as compared to a single crystal supports. The independent factor of a complex surface morphology is believed to provide enhanced sites for gas release during the initial stages of the reaction. By demonstrating the ability to shorten induction time and enhance catalytic activity through changes in surface morphology and Ru content, we find it feasible to further explore this catalyst support in the construction of a practical hydrogen generator.

새로운 가정용 비만치료기의 비만치료효과 측정 (The Remedial Effect Measurement of an Obesity Remedy Machine for Home Use)

  • 본 논문에서는 H사와 공동으로 개발한 가정용 비만치료기의 특징과 치료효과를 측정, 분석한 것이다. 이 가정용 비만치료기는 중주파 활용, 온열벨트 사용과 함께 부작용을 최소화하도록 설계되었는데 성능평가를 위해 20대 여성 8명을 대상으로 1개월 간의 비만치료 실험을 실시하였다. 실험은 심폐기능운동검사를 통하여 피실험자들의 비만치료 실험 전후의 가스교환 반응도($VCO_2$$VCO_2$양의 변화)에 초점을 두었다. 실험결과 체중(${\cal}kg$), 체지방율($\%$), 체지방량(${\cal}kg$), 비만도($\%$), 기초대사량(kcal) 등에서 비만감소 효과가 나타났으며 비만치료 전보다 산소($VCO_2$) 섭취량은 증가한 반면 이산화탄소($VCO_2$) 배출량은 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 인체의 생리학적측면과 운동 역학적인 측면이 상관관계가 높다는 것을 보여주고 있으며 여기서 개발된 비만치료기가 의학적으로 비만치료에 도움이 될 수 있음을 입증하는 결과라 할 수 있다.
