  • Since the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China published the GB/T19580-2004: Criteria for Excellence Performance of China, many enterprises in China have adopted the Criteria to enhance their organization business management and to assess or self-assess organization performance. On the bases of both the Criteria for Excellence Performance of China and the survey data from China Association for Quality (CAQ), this paper systematically explores the relationships among 'leadership', 'strategy planning', 'customer and market', 'information, analysis and improvement', 'resources management', 'process management', and 'performance results' by using structural equations modeling and validates some of the anecdotal beliefs in quality management. This quantitative analysis provides a guideline for organizations in China to identify causal linkage among core value of total quality management and to identify strengths, deficiency, and opportunities to enhance competitive advantages and ensure the future business success.

  • The disconfirmation paradigm is the earliest researched and the most deeply researched of all the paradigms in marketing. Disconfirmation paradigm deals with the influence of expectation, perceived product performance, and the discord between the two on consumer satisfaction. The GAP-Model is based on the disconfirmation paradigm that tries to understand the effect of the gap between before purchase expectations and after purchase perceptions of the product performance on dependent variables such as customer satisfaction. The purpose of this research is to test whether regression coefficients of a P-Model(performance only model), an E-Model(expectation only model) and GAP(P-E)-Model are equivalent in explaining service value and loyalty. The Chow's F-Test is used to test the excellence of the 3 models. As a result of comparison and analysis, P-Model showed more excellence of service value and loyalty than E-Model or GAP-Model.

  • Industry competition environment is not being meaning of internal and external distinction. This may be phenomenon of globalization progress. In this time, we wish to examine present level in our enterprise and also analyze cause relation between 7 category of China Excellence Performance model which is modified Malcolm Baldridge Model and compare with China enterprise by using the same questionnaire with China. It is right opportunity to obtain information by comparing China enterprise with the Korea. This questionnaire composition and contents used as it is questionnaire contents that enforce in 2007 in China CAQ. The survey on Korea enterprises' is 509 by KSA in 2008, China is surveyed 1679 by CAQ in 2007. In Korea 'leadership', 'strategy planning', 'customer and market', 'measurement, analysis and improvement' 'resources management' and 'process management' stronger than China, but in China 'performance results' is stronger than Korea.

  • Developing a test for independence of random variables X and Y against the alternative has an important role in statistical inference. Kochar and Gupta (1987) proposed a class of tests in view of Block and Basu (1974) model and compared the powers for sample sizes n = 8, 12. In this paper, we evaluate Kochar and Gupta (1987) class of tests for testing independence against quadrant dependence in absolutely continuous bivariate Farlie-Gambel-Morgenstern distribution, via a simulation study for sample sizes n = 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20. Furthermore, we compare the power of the tests with that proposed by G$\ddot{u}$uven and Kotz (2008) based on the asymptotic distribution of the test statistics.

  • This paper is aimed at presenting two methods on the basis of pattern search and genetic algorithms to detect and estimate damage in plates using the modal data of a damaged plate. The proposed methods determine the damages of plate structures using optimization of an objective function by pattern search and genetic algorithms. These methods have been applied to two numerical examples, namely four-fixed supported and cantilever plates with and without noise in the modal data and containing one or several damages. The obtained results clearly reveal that the proposed methods can be viewed as a powerful and reliable method for structural damage detection in plates using the modal data.

  • In the present research, fatigue behavior of chopped strand mat/epoxy composites has been studied with two different techniques. First, the normalized stiffness degradation approach as a well-known model for unidirectional and laminated composites was utilized to predict the fatigue behavior of chopped strand mat/epoxy composites. Then, the capability of the fatigue damage accumulation model for chopped strand mat/epoxy composites was investigated. A series of tests has been performed at different stress levels to evaluate both models with the obtained results. The results of evaluation indicate a better correlation of the normalized stiffness degradation technique with experimental results in comparison with the fatigue damage accumulation model.

  • In the present research, an available flexural stiffness degradation model was modified and a new comprehensive model called "X-NFSD" was developed. The X-NFSD model is capable of predicting the flexural stiffness degradation of composite specimen at different states of stresses and at room temperature. The model was verified by means of different experimental data for chopped strand mat/epoxy composites under displacement controlled bending loading condition at different displacements and states of stresses. The obtained results provided by the present model are impressively in very good agreement with the experimental data and the mean value of error of 5.4% was achieved.

  • Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a pluripotent cytokine which plays roles in inflammation, immune responses and cancer development. It assists macrophages in carrying out functions like phagocytosis, adherence and motility. Of late, MIF is implicated in almost all stages of neoplasia and expression is a feature of most types of cancer. The presence of MIF in almost all tumors and all stages of cancer makes it an interesting candidate for cancer therapy. This review explores the roles of MIF in neoplasia.

  • A hybrid approach of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Swallow Swarm Optimization algorithm (SSO) namely Hybrid Particle Swallow Swarm Optimization algorithm (HPSSO), is presented as a new variant of PSO algorithm for the highly nonlinear dynamic truss shape and size optimization with multiple natural frequency constraints. Experimentally validation of HPSSO on four benchmark trusses results in high performance in comparison to PSO variants and to those of different optimization techniques. The simulation results clearly show a good balance between global and local exploration abilities and consequently results in good optimum solution.
