Study of SUVm Cut-off Value for the Distinction of Pancreatic Cancer In PET/CT Exam (PET/CT 검사에서 췌장암 판별을 위한 SUVm 경계값 연구)

  • In this study, when diagnosis pancreatic cancer by dual time point PET/CT, we propose SUVm 2.52 as the threshold value for performing the dual time point PET/CT exam. The hypothesis of normal distribution was adopted through data conversion of 60 pancreatic diseases. The proposed SUVm2.52 boundary value showed a significance level that could be applied to both 120 and 180 minutes of delay time scan for pancreatic cancer determination (p<0.05). C-value variation shows that delay time 2 hour test is more useful than delay time 3 hour test. When the SUVm 2.52 is set to the boundary value and the double-time point PET/CT exam is performed, the probability of distinguishing cancer from inflammation in the delayed image is 95%. When the delayed test is performed with the proposed boundary value SUVm 2.52, Compared with general PET / CT scans, it is thought that it may be helpful to distinguish pancreatic cancer.

  • Private Security Guard Certification Exam that initiated as the eligibility of private in 2006, has been requested more fulfilling management because that becomes to be recognized at the national certified qualification system in 2013. The findings of this study were as follows: First, it is necessary to expand more exemptions, currently some are mainly police officers. Secondly, it is needed to make to announce the final successful candidates through the opposition proceedings by publishing assumptions answer of the problem and by improving the procedure for determining the successful candidates, and so forth.

A Study on Improvement of Dental Technicians practical examination system (치과기공사 국가시험 실기시험 제도 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the improvement measure of dental technicians practical examination system. Methods: The subjects in this study were 290 dental technicians who were self-written questionnaire. The results were analyzed by SPSS 16.0. The collected data was analyzed by frequency and chi-square test. Results: Dental technician practical exam feasibility of survey were largely negative views. Articulators work required in practical exam as a tool used (28.7%), electric wax carver (19.5%), heating clear (17.8%), handpiece (16.2%) had a response. Dental Technician positions in accordance with practical exam in comparison to satisfaction, the professor is satisfied, but the clinical dental technicians were generally dissatisfied (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, Current is necessary to analyze the practical test. It also should be compared with foreign institutions. Long-term and short-term improvement examination system that can be applied to the improvement of the dental technician to draw practical test it is necessary to improve the system.

  • This paper describes a research for improvement official approval of information processing in national technical qualification. In this paper, we analysis the contents of current exams and propose the new evaluation method of practical exam in information processing fields through grafting new trends of ICT and ability unit, fulfillment criteria in national competency standards(NCS). Also, we have verified the effect of exam through the pilot test. In the future, we will apply the new exams after the revision of guidelines for marking questions by expert group in its duty fields basis on this research.

Mathematical Journal Writing as a Method of Improving Mathematical Attitudes and Achievements for Underachieve Students (수학학습 부진아 지도방안으로써의 수학일지 쓰기)

  • How to enhance the ability of underachieve students are unsolved problems for mathematics teachers despite of their best efforts to teach them. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of mathematical journal writing as a method of improving the mathematical attitudes and achievements for underachieve students. Seven students whose performances were below 40% on the final exam in the 1st semester were recruited in order to gather empirical data. Before journal writing procedures, the subjects' characteristics, learning styles and mathematical attitudes were investigated through personal interview and mathematical attitude test. After six-week journal writing, follow-up survey and mathematical attitude test were conducted. The results of this research are as follows: Mathematical journal writing had a positive effect to underachieve students on improving confidence in mathematics and a positive influence on active and effective learning attitude. And mathematical journal writing had an effect on improvement in their mathematics achievement comparing first semester's final exam with second semester's mid-term exam. Finally mathematical journal writing contributes positively to the relationship between students and their teacher.

  • With the increasing use of arthroscopy and MRI for the diagnosis of shoulder problems, SLAP (superior labrum from anterior to posterior) lesions are more commonly diagnosed, and the incidence of SLAP repair surgery is increasing. Clinical diagnosis of SLAP is difficult to achieve, and many specific physical exam maneuvers have been described. However, neither these exam maneuvers nor history can provide a definitive diagnosis of a SLAP lesion. Despite this limitation, it is helpful to establish a more precise and accurate examination and to construct a preoperative plan. The purpose of this article is to review the original descriptions for specific physical exam maneuvers in SLAP, along with statistical analysis where available. This will help clinicians in deciding which tests are useful, how they should be implemented, and how to interpret the results.

The Effects of an English Lecture for a Korean Business Student: Enhancing Understanding and Learning Outcomes (유통기업을 위한 대학의 영어전공강의 성과분석: 이해도 제고와 학습성과를 중심으로)

  • Purpose - This study investigated the effects of lectures in the English medium (EML) on understanding and learning outcomes. Sixty percent of EML lectures in Korea also use Korean for further support. Thus, this situation needs to clearly distinguish the specific impacts of the EML classes on learning outcomes. Here, we use the same English materials, including PowerPoint slides and video content, given in the Korean and English lectures. The difference between the lectures becomes only whether the lecture is delivered in Korean or English. Thus, we can clearly identify whether the language difference makes any difference in learning outcomes. Research design, data, and methodology - Our sample consisted of 91 students taking an international business course the spring of 2015. All course materials, including textbooks, PowerPoint slides, exams, video, and support content, were presented in English. Survey data and exam results were used. Students filled out their student identification number and name, so we could match the surveys against the exam results. Results - First, results show that whether the lecture was delivered in English or Korean was an important factor when students chose the class. Second, English proficiency related to international business and general English levels were higher in the English class than in the Korean class. However, the understanding of key concepts and reading abilities of international business newspapers were the same for students in both classes. Third, teaching materials and lectures were the most important material for the understanding of key concepts in the business major. Fourth, the exam results showed no difference in performance of the students in the English versus the Korean class. This shows that EML classes were not necessarily detrimental to the understanding of major concepts of the lecture. Thus, it is important that researchers carefully design empirical settings to study the effectiveness of EML. Conclusions - The English lecture can be as helpful for enhancing knowledge in the business major as the Korean lecture. For further research, various English lecture forms can be considered to distinguish the effects of the English lecture.

A Study on the Development of a Standard Curriculum for Education of Library and Information Science in Korea (한국의 문헌정보학 교육을 위한 표준교육과정 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Since the curriculum of the department of library and information science for nurturing librarians and teacher-librarians is not standardized and the education scope and content of subjects for each exam to recruit librarians and teacher-librarians is also not standardized, the objectivity and credibility required for national exam are not guaranteed. This study is for developing a standard curriculum as one of the solutions regarding the foregoing problem. To achieve the goal of this study, first of all, the requirements for librarians and teacher-librarians and a national exam related to Teacher Certification Examination, regulation, and implementation rules were reviewed. Secondly, the justification of the suggested subjects through analyzing prior studies for developing a curriculum for library and information science was reviewed. Thirdly, the subjects resulted from the two foregoing methods were confirmed as a standard curriculum for library and information science through a focus group discussion among practicing librarians.

Test Case Grouping and Filtering for Better Performance of Spectrum-based Fault Localization (결함위치식별 기법의 성능 향상을 위한 테스트케이스 그룹화 및 필터링 기법)

  • Spectrum-based fault localization (SFL) method assigns a suspicious ratio. The statement is strongly affected by a failed test case compared to a passed test case. A failed test case assigns a suspicious ratio while a passed test case reduces some parts of assigned suspicious ratio. In the absence of a failed test case, it is impossible to localize the fault. Thus, a failed test case is very important for fault localization. However, spectrum-based fault localization has difficulty in reflecting the unique characteristics of a failed test because a failed test case and a passed test case are input at the same time to calculate a suspicious ratio. This paper supplements for this limitation and suggests a test case grouping method for more accurate fault localization. In addition, this paper suggested a filtering method considering test efficiency and verified the effectiveness by applying 65 algorithms. In 90 % of whole methods, the accuracy was improved by 13% and the effectiveness was improved by 72% based on EXAM score.

A Study on the Utilizing Certificate Awareness for Student Certificate Holders of Private Security Guard (신변보호사 자격취득 학생들의 자격활용 인식에 관한 연구)

  • Korea Security Association suggested from who Professor An, Hwang Kwon advocated the introduction of a private security guard certification system, and the private security guard certification exam has been conducted seven times since 2005, being authorized by the government. Currently, there are a lot of certified private security guards who have passed the exam. In fact, however, no preference is given to them. In terms of employment, they don't receive any preferential treatment nor are given any extra points. Furthermore, they cannot afford to make use of their certificate. The purpose of this study was to examine the state of utilizing the private security guard certificate among student certificate holders and their awareness of the private security guard system. The findings of the study were as follows: First, it's important to present a vision for certified private security guards, and what equally matters is to make it clear how and where they can show what they can do. Second, it's required to improve the image and reliability of private security guards as professional security guards. Third, candidates for the certification exam should boost their own self-esteem, confidence and professionalism as competent human resources who can make a contribution to society.
