REGENERATIVE BOOTSTRAP FOR SIMULATION OUTPUT ANALYSIS

  • With the aid of fast computing power, resampling techniques are being introduced for simulation output analysis (SOA). Autocorrelation among the output from discrete-event simulation prohibit the direct application of resampling schemes (Threshold bootstrap, Binary bootstrap, Stationary bootstrap, etc) extend its usage to time-series data such as simulation output. We present a new method for inference from a regenerative process, regenerative bootstrap, that equals or exceeds the performance of classical regenerative method and approximation regeneration techniques. Regenerative bootstrap saves computation time and overcomes the problem of scarce regeneration cycles. Computational results are provided using M/M/1 model.

  • 본 논문은 실시간 운영체제 환경에서 사용자 상호작용을 지원하는 MPEG-4 미디어 프리젠터를 제안한다. 이를 위해서 제안하는 미디어 프리젠터는 객체에 발생한 이벤트 정보를 객체속성 정보와 함께 파싱하여 이벤트에 반응하는 기능을 가진다. 따라서 사용자는 멀티미디어가 재생되는 동안 이벤트를 발생하고 프리젠터가 이에 반응하는 장면을 실시간으로 관찰함으로써 능동적 상호 작용을 이룰 수 있다. 재구성된 화면의 재생은 MPEG-4의 중요한 특징인 사용자와 미디어 프리젠터 간의 상호 작용을 보인다.

Surgical Treatment of Cavernous Malformation of Pineal Region

  • The main causes of pineal apoplexy are hemorrhage associated with pineal region tumors, vascular malformations, and pineal cysts. Cavernous malformations rarely occur in the pineal region, with only fifteen cases reported previously. Hemorrhage associated with cavernous malformation causes apoplectic event in the pineal region. We report two surgically treated cases of pineal hemorrhage associated with cavernous malformation and discuss the consideration in management of the pineal apoplexy.

A study on the rainfall management target considering inter-event time definition (IETD) (무강우 지속시간(IETD)을 고려한 빗물관리 목표량 설정 방안 연구)

  • In urban areas, the impermeable area continues to increase due to urbanization, which interferes with the surface penetrating and infiltrating of rainwater, causing most rainwater runoff to the surface, deepening the distortion of water circulation. Distortion of water circulation affects not only flood disasters caused by rainfall and runoff, but also various aspects such as dry stream phenomenon, deterioration of water quality, and destruction of ecosystem balance, and the Ministry of Environment strongly recommends the use of Low Impact development (LID) techniques. In order to apply the LID technique, it is necessary to set a rainwater management target to handle the increase in outflow after the development of the target site, and the current standard sets the rainwater management target using the 10-year daily rainfall. In this study, the difference from the current standards was analyzed through statistical analysis and classification of independent rainfall ideas using inter-event time definition (IETD) in setting the target amount of rainwater management to improve water circulation. Using 30-year rainfall data from 1991 to 2020, methods such as autocorrelation coefficient (AC) analysis, variation coefficient (VC) analysis, and annual average number of rainfall event (NRE) analysis were applied, and IETD was selected according to the target rainfall period. The more samples the population had, the more IETD tended to increase. In addition, by analyzing the duration and time distribution of independent rainfall according to the IETD, a plan was proposed to calculate the standard design rainfall according to the rainwater management target amount. Therefore, it is expected that it will be possible to set an improved rainwater management target amount if sufficient samples of independent rainfall ideas are used through the selection of IETD as in this study.

  • The construction project is largely exposed to much more risk events over the project life cycle due to its complexity and size than the other industries. Therefore, the construction risk management process to identify and response the risk events is not only performing acutely but also proceeding systematically. The risk identification phase in the risk management process is to identify various risk events and define its characteristics. At this phase, the risk identification system is very useful tool to identify every possible risk events in the project. This study shows some problems of the existing risk identification system and proposes the modified risk identification system based on the project phases and the contract bodies, and also suggests partial but more enough detailed risk checklists to be implemented in the actual risk identification phase than any other existing risk breakdown systems to be examined at this study.

  • Biases and errors in the human being's reasoning process have been studied continuously by the researchers, especially psychlogists and social scientists. These bias phenomenon is classified on the basis of the origin, i. e. motivation and cognition. Furthermore the necessity of research on the bias in the management and management information system areas in increased more and more recently, which have their academic backgrounds in the psychology and social science. The biased information stream is transformed into the systematic error due to the motivation and cognitive bias of human-being, then its resulting phenomena are as follows; 1. the availability of salient information 2. preconceived ideas or theories about peoples and event 3. anchoring and perseverence phenomena. In order to reduce the information errors, Satty suggested the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) that is the subject of this paper and that is widely used for evaluation of complex decision making alternatives. THerefore this paper studies AHP's effects and its limitations in applying to the management area. Thus this paper compared the performances of the 3 models : 1 the traditional additive regression model. 2 regression model using the factor score, and 3 the regression model with AHP. As a result, 3 models produce the different outcomes.

  • Security infrastructure of Educational Network responds to threats by collecting and analyzing security events from various information protection system based on the integrated management system. Even if this system provides useful and detailed information to the administrator, there are some problems that this system does not provide effective response process and management systems for various threatening situations and the simultaneous threat processes. To solve this problem, we propose and develop security agents that enable the administrator to effectively manage integrated security for Educational Network. The proposed solution provides the administrator with efficient management techniques and process scheduling for various security events so that the administrator can response promptly to problems with the initial threat to Educational Network.

  • During the last two decades, the rapid increase in aquaculture world wide, particularly in finfish and shellfish culture, is the result of both area expansion and production intensification. Under these conditions, the prevalence and spread of infectious diseases have increased as a result of higher infection pressure and decreased resistance of the aquatic animals. Accordingly, the effective control of infectious diseases has become more and more important to development of aquaculture. Recently the Pathology Team of National Fisheries Research and Development(NFRDI), has played pivotal roles in establishing the national management and control system of aquatic animal health and disease by new legislative works and technical guidelines. Under the national aquatic animal disease control framework, the Pathology Team of NFRDI and MOMAF(Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) should also establish effective management and regulations, with the support of enforcement and monitoring policies. In conjunction with effective aquatic disease national management, financial assistance or alternative compensation options for aquaculture should also be available in the event of production losses or eradication system.

  • Reagent Cabinet of existing that management does not classify the reagents by characteristics it has a problem that can result dangerous situations. Also, the situation impossible the ability to control the reagent cabinet from outside in the event of dangerous situations. In this paper, design a system for managing reagents it can be classified according to the characteristics and the reagent cabinet management on a mobile device. Utilizing the characteristics classification from first to sixth classification management to fit the classification of each reagent. The mobile device transmits the sensor control, reagent and sensor data monitoring, dangerous situation occurs when the alarm message. Accordingly, it is expected through the characteristics classification reduce accidents in the laboratory if the dangerous situation will be a prompt action from the outside.

  • Artificial intelligence (AI) has been applied to most industries by enhancing automation and contributing greatly to efficient processes and high-quality production. This research analyzes the applications of AI-based automobile accident prevention systems. It deals with AI-based collision prevention systems that learn information from various sensors attached to cars and AI-based accident detection systems that automatically report accidents to the control center in the event of a collision. Based on the literature review, technological and institutional changes are taking place at the national levels, which recognize the effectiveness of the systems. In addition, start-ups at home and abroad as well as major car manufacturers are in the process of commercializing auto parts equipped with AI-based collision prevention technology.
