pH-Sensitive Curdlan Acetate Microspheres를 이용한 Indomethacin의 방출 특성

  • Curdlan acetate was prepared from hydrophilic curdlan by chemical modification and it was used for pH-sensitive drug delivery system. Curdlan acetate microspheres were prepared by the solvent evaporation method. The size of the curdlan acetate microspheres was below $200\;{\mu}m$. The drug loading efficiency of microspheres was approximately 58.44%. In the swelling test, curdlan acetate microspheres were showed pH-sensitive behavior. The swelling capacity of microspheres at pH 7.4 was much greater than at pH 1.4. Also, Release rate of indomethacin (IND) at pH 7.4 from curdlan acetate microspheres was faster than that at pH 1.4. A pH-sensitive drug release pattern was due to the disintegrating after swelling.

A Study on the Engine Performance and Exhaust Emission with Intake Port Methanol Injection in a DI Diesel Engine (직분식 디젤기관의 메탄올 흡기분사에 의한 기관성능과 배기배출물에 관한 연구)

  • In order to investigate the effectiveness of methanol, which has high latent heat of evaporation and oxygen contents, for DI diesel engine performance and exhaust emission, the methanol was injected at the suction port of DI diesel engine. The injector used for test was conventional gasoline engine injector and controlled the quantity of methanol per cycle by the power supply controller which designed specially for injector. The results shown that the maximum pressure point was delayed, the value of maximum pressure was decreased, and the concentrations of both NOx and Soot were decreased, as the methanol injection quantity increased, and also the thermal efficiency of engine injected methanol under the high load condition was similar to no methanol injection but under the medium load condition was decreased within the experimental conditions.

  • CKD602, a camptothecin derivative, is a synthetic and water-soluble anticancer agent possessing of topoisomerase I inhibiting activity. DPPC and DSPE-PEG liposomal formulations entrapped with CKD602 were developed. DSPE-PEG liposome, or PEGylated liposome, encapsulating CKD602 composed of dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC), cholesterol and distearoyl-N-monoethoxy poly (ethyleneglycol) succinylphosphatidylethanolamine $(DSPE-PEG_{2000})$ (22:11:2) was prepared by reverse-phase evaporation method. Formed liposomes were characterized in terms of the morphology, size and encapsulation efficiency. To elucidate the in vitro stability, PEGylated liposome was incubated in human plasma, and the adsorbed proteins onto the surface of liposomes were applied to the SDS-PAGE. In vitro cytotoxicity of CKD602 encapsulated in PEGylated liposome was studied in human cervical cancer cell line (HeLa). CKD602 in PEGylated liposome was found to be 40-fold more effective $(IC_{50}=1\;nM)$ than free CKD602 $(IC_{50}=40\;nM)$ in inhibiting the growth of HeLa cells in vitro.

  • In this study, a transparent conductive oxide (TCO)-less dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) was fabricated by using titanium (Ti) electrode to replace the Fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) for the reduction of manufacturing cost. Ti film was formed by electron beam evaporation method and the results showed the sheet resistance of Ti electrodes with a thikness of 500 nm similar to FTO. In case of power conversion efficiency (PCE), a DSSC with Ti electrodes showed a lower value than that with FTO by 0.38%. For the investigation of the difference, the DSSCs were measured and analyzed by using electrochemical impedance analyzer (EIS).

  • In order to estimate the efficiency of an evaporative heat exchanger having mini channel, the equations to calculate heat exchanger properties, those are air temperatures and water temperatures etc, are derived from the governing equations based on the Navier-Stokes equation, even though there are several assumptions to make problem simplify. There are three heat transfer zones at the mini channel heat exchanger depending on the water condition. So, there are three governing equations and solutions to calculate the properties. As a results of this study, the equations to calculate a saturation point and a dry point are derived to evaluate an evaporative heat exchanger having micro channel. It is supposed to predict the performance and evaluate a mini channel heat exchanger.

  • The effects of the MgO fabrication process on the properties of AC-PDPs were examined. MgO films were deposited by e-beam evaporation with various substrate temperatures and oxygen flow rates. MgO films were analyzed by XRD, CL and ellipsometer. Panel properties such as luminance, efficiency, discharge voltage and discharge delay time were measured with test panels. MgO films with higher temperature, smaller oxygen flow rate showed shorter discharge delay time. Also they showed smaller XRD peak intensity. These results revealed that the discharge delay time was strongly influenced by temperature and oxygen flow rate of the MgO fabrication process.

  • In this paper, the influence of many factors related to the concrete mixture and the weather condition on plastic shrinkage cracking are analyzed through parametric studies using the numerical models introduced in the companion paper. First of all, through a systematic calculation of bleeding, the relationship between the bleeding constants and concrete mixture is proposed on the basis of the experimental data obtained by many researchers. Moreover, an equation, which can directly determine a critical point at which the evaporation and bleeding is balanced, is introduced, and the efficiency of the introduced equation is verified through the correlation study between the obtained results by the introduced equation and those by the rigorous analyses. The introduced equation can effectively be used to predict and to prevent plastic shrinkage cracking without any rigorous analysis and, in advance, to cope with the sudden changes in the concrete mixture and/or weather condition.

  • The ultra thin hole injection layer (HIL) was deposited on an indium-tin-oxide (ITO) anode by using an ion beam assisted d eposition (IBAD) for the fabrication of an polymeric electroluminescence device for the first time. The device with the HIL deposited by IBAD has higher external quantum efficiency than the device with the HIL by conventional thermal evaporation. It is found that the deposited HIL by IBAD has high surface coverage on ITO anode in a few nm regions because the HIL prepared has high adatom mobility by ion beam energy.

  • We report on Organic Vapor Phase Deposition $(OVPD^{(R)})$ an innovative deposition technology for organic light emitting device (OLED) and organic semiconductor manufacturing. The combination of $OVPD^{(R)}$ with Close Coupled Showerhead (CCS) technology results in manufacturing equipment with vast potential for cost effective manufacturing of OLED displays commercially competitive to LCD. The actual $OVPD^{(R)}$ equipment concept and design is discussed: Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modeling is compared with experimental results proving the excellent controllability of the deposition process. Further other production relevant deposition properties are being reviewed e.g. high deposition rates and high organic material utilization efficiency of the $OVPD^{(R)}$ - Technology. Data from devices made by $OVPD^{(R)}$ show comparable/ superior performance to those fabricated with conventional vacuum thermal evaporation (VTE) techniques. An outlook on further potentials of $OVPD^{(R)}$ with respect to enabling advanced organic device structures is given.

  • We have developed transparent OLED with green phosphorescent doped layer using transparent metal cathode deposited by thermal evaporation technique. Phosphorescent guest molecule, $Ir(ppy)_3$, was doped in host mCP for the green phosphorescent emission. Ca/Ag double layers were used as a cathode material of transparent OLED. The turn-on voltage of OLED was 5.2 V. The highest efficiency of the device reachs to 31 cd/A at 2 mA/$cm^2$.
