This study is in a part of requirements validation plan for korean rubber-tired AGT system on test track. The AGT system is consisted subsystems as vehicle, signalling, communication, power distribution and infrastructure for rubber tire running on track. The subsystems will be installed and integrated on test track till next year for test and evaluation. This paper shows overview for test and evaluation in terms of system requirements and its validation classification, test track configuration, measuring system requirements and its configuration. The whole process of system integration and its validation will be controlled by means of KMS including documentation.

Model verification and validation (V&V) is a current research topic to build computational models with high predictive capability by addressing the general concepts, processes and statistical techniques. The hypothesis test for validity check is one of the model validation techniques and gives a guideline to evaluate the validity of a computational model when limited experimental data only exist due to restricted test resources (e.g., time and budget). The hypothesis test for validity check mainly employ Type I error, the risk of rejecting the valid computational model, for the validity evaluation since quantification of Type II error is not feasible for model validation. However, Type II error, the risk of accepting invalid computational model, should be importantly considered for an engineered products having high risk on predicted results. This paper proposes a technique named as the response-adaptive experimental design to reduce Type II error by adaptively designing experimental conditions for the validation experiment. A tire tread block problem and a numerical example are employed to show the effectiveness of the response-adaptive experimental design for the validity evaluation.
Testing evaluation is a part of process for design, production, evaluation, operation and abolition, and is the process of certifying system performance. The main purpose of testing evaluation is to reduce the risk factor under the determining process. Testing process has the three step such as design qualification, integration and validation test in factory, system integration and commissioning test. Design Qualification is to verify errors on the design process. Integration and validation test in factory is for the H/W and S/W of an equipment and is to verify interface of subsystem, communication protocol and main functions. System integration and commissioning test is a functional test to adjust successful installation of equipment. According to the testing process, briefly consideration for test item, test method and test contents about signalling system is carried out.

To quantify the conservatism of existing ASME strain-based evaluation methods for seismic loading, this paper presents very low cycle fatigue test data of elbows under various cyclic loading conditions and comparison of evaluation results with experimental failure cycles. For strain-based evaluation methods, the method presented in ASME BPVC CC N-900 and Sec. VIII are used. Predicted failure cycles are compared with experimental failure cycle to quantify the conservatism of evaluation methods. All methods give very conservative failure cycles. The CC N-900 method is the most conservative and prediction results are only ~0.5% of experimental data. For Sec. VIII method, the use of the option using code tensile properties gives ~3% of experimental data, and the use of the material-specific reduction of area can reduce conservatism but still gives ~15% of experimental data.

The evaluation of reliability is very important in the development process of software. There may be lack of trustfulness on the results that come from the analysis and evaluation of reliability of softwares which do not divide the test phases. At this point, this article studies how to evaluate the reliability dividing the test phases in order to settle the these problems. In doing so, I apply the fault data to be found in Unit Test, Integration Test, Validation Test and System Test to SRGM(Software Reliability Growth Model), Exponential SRGM, Delayed S-shaped SRGM and Inflection S-shaped SRGM. The result is that Inflection S-shaped is best suitable with Unit Test Delayed S-shaped is best suitable with Integration and Validation Test, and Exponential SRGM is best suitable with System test. In this respect, I can show that the results of this study on parameter estimation, difference square summation, number of fault remained is superior to the established methods.

The purpose of this study was to development and validation of the 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university. The research collected preliminary data from 1,567 university students's responses for item and scale quality analyses, and collected 2,539 university students's for item and scale quality analyses, and 300 university professors's responses for validation. Data were analyzed to obtain item quality, reliability, and validity analysis. The results of the study were as follows; The 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university was defined by 5 factors. The 5 factors were structure and sincerity of lecture, suitability of report and test, level of consulting for student, application of educational media, communication. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed five sub-scales in the 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university scale. Criterion-related validity evidence was obtained from the correlation analysis as the criterion measures. Cross validity evidence was obtained from the confirmatory factor analysis in university professors.

Suspension noise from under a passenger car is one of the important factors that impact the perceptual quality for drivers. However, it is difficult to validate this by component level testing in the early stage of development, because suspension noise caused by interaction of the related parts has been found at saleable vehicles late during development or at the manufacturing stage, when many customers have already filed for claims. This study proposed a validation testing under research by the DFSS process that enables reproduction of vehicle level noise by component level testing using a shock absorber with the related parts, such as urethane bumper and top mount. This study also developed a compromised test matrix while analyzing the noise factors through experimental design and analysis of variance to determine what factors can affect noise. Based on this study, we expect that the vehicle level and customer claim can be validated during initial development timing by a more reliable component noise validation test.
In this paper, a test apparatus for reliability evaluation of a rotary compressor has been suggested with a short-cycle concept. $CO_2$ refrigerant is adopted for this cycle to avoid phase change during cycle operation. Evaporator is not necessary in short-cycle. Utilizing a short-cycle, the test apparatus was built on the purpose of evaluating the reliability of each rotary compressor on the conveyer belt of the factory. The primary validation of the test apparatus is discussed by analyzing the experimental heat balance data. Additional validation was performed through the overload continuous operation test where the wear rate of the $CO_2$ short-cycle was found to similar to that of the R22 normal-cycle. The reliability evaluation test apparatus with a short-cycle in present investigation was found simple and efficient in the view of reducing sample numbers, costs, and test time in analyzing the reliability of rotary compressors.
The National Toxicology Program Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICEATM) provides validation support for US Federal agencies and the US Tox21 interagency consortium, an interagency collaboration that is using high throughput screening (HTS) and other advanced approaches to better understand and predict chemical hazards to humans and the environment. The use of HTS data from assays relevant to the estrogen receptor signaling data pathway is used as an example of how HTS data can be combined with computational modeling to meet the needs of US agencies. As brief summary of US efforts in the areas of biologics testing, acute toxicity, and skin sensitization will also be provided.

Most of biomaterials come in direct contact with the body, making standardized methods of evaluation and validation of biocompatibility an important aspect to biomaterial development. However, biomaterial validation guidelines have not been fully established, until now. This study was to compare the in vitro behavior of osteoblasts cultured on nanomaterial $TiO_2$ surfaces to osteoblast behavior on culture plates. Comparisons were also made to cells grown in conditioned media (CM) that creates an environment similar to the in vivo environment. Comparisons were made between the different growth conditions for osteoblast adhesion, proliferation, differentiation, and functionality. We found that the in vivo-like system of growing cells in concentrated CM provided a good validation method for biomaterial development and in vivo implant therapy. The $TiO_2$ materials were biocompatible, showing similar behavior to that observed in vivo. This study provided valuable information that would aid in the creation of guidelines into standardization and evaluation of biocompatibility in $TiO_2$ biomaterials.
