A formula to estimate the yield displacement observed in the pushover analysis of coupled wall lateral force-resisting systems is presented. The estimate is based on the results of an analytical study of coupled walls ranging from 8 to 20 stories in height, with varied amounts of reinforcement in the reinforced concrete coupling beams and walls, subjected to first-mode pushover analysis. An example illustrates the application of these estimates to the performance-based seismic design of coupled walls.

High speed railroad noise is one of the main causes of environmental impact. An estimate of the relevant noise levels is usually required in order to evaluate the noise barrier and the anti-noise trailer. This paper introduce the test procedure and the estimate for HST noise. The aim of this is to measure, by means of a test, the level of acoustic pressure present during the passing of a KTX(Korea Train Express), in order to satisfy the contractual requirements and the noise criteria. A number of measurements are carried out in order to estimate noise impact by HST along test track.

The most frequent use of the chi-square distribution is in the area of goodness-of-t of a distribution. The likelihood ratio test is a commonly used test statistic as the maximum likelihood estimate in statistical inferences. The recently revised versions of the likelihood ratio test statistics are used in estimating the parameter in the chi-square distribution. The estimates are compared with the commonly used method of moments and the maximum likelihood estimate.

This paper has proposed presumable method of ergonomics estimate index from evoked potential of visual stimulation for establishment a fixed ergonomics estimate index. The proposed method presumes continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics using prony method. Band characteristic of alpha and beta band, and that of background and evoked potential was analyzed using FFT method. And, that were presumed continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics using porny method. As a result of that proposed method presumed band characteristic, continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics, classification of ergonomics of impatient, rage and fear were practicable.

We estimate the stable rank of twisted crossed products of $C^{*}-algebras$ by topological Abelian groups. As an application we estimate the stable rank of twisted crossed products of $C^{*}-algebras$ by solvable Lie groups. In particular, we obtain the stable rank estimate of twisted group $C^{*}-algebras$ of solvable Lie groups by the (reduced) dimension and (generalized) rank of groups.

On a closed eta-Einstein Sasakian spin manifold of dimension $2m+1{\geq}5$, $m{\equiv}0$ mod 2, we prove a new eigenvalue estimate for the Dirac operator. In dimension 5, the estimate is valid without the eta-Einstein condition. Moreover, we show that the limiting case of the estimate is attained if and only if there exists such a pair (${\varphi}_{{\frac{m}{2}}-1}$, ${\varphi}_{\frac{m}{2}}$) of spinor fields (called Sasakian duo, see Definition 2.1) that solves a special system of two differential equations.

The fundamental vibration period of a shearwall apartments cannot estimate accurately by means of empirical formulas specified in present codes, The objective of this paper is to estimate the period of a shearwall apartments by microtremor measurement. A micretremor is the continuous small oscillation of the ground cause by traffic and operation machinery. Microtremors are extensively studied primarily in Japan to estimate conveniently subsurface structures of soil deposits and building vibrations. It is obtained the results that the fundamental periods estimated by microtremor measurement are shorter than those values by dynamic analysis of building.

The objective of this study is to estimate the frequency characteristics of group walking loads based on the information of measured responses. At first, dynamic properties such as natural frequencies and modes are obtained from input/output relation for building structures by heel drop test. Second, a method to estimate group walking loads by the transfer functions from measured responses to group walking loads is proposed. The method turned out to estimate the group walking loads accurately. Higher modes could be important in estimating the amplitude of group walking loads with the information of single walking load.

This study aims to estimate the chronical year of 'Euiin'-Park's clothes excavated costumes from the tomb of 'Lady Euiim-Park's which has been stocked in Gyeonggi Provincial Museum. The methods of this study is, observed structure and style of clothes and characterize and compared with other similar clothes excavated from other tombs. The result showed Park's clothes was estimated to be from the mid to late 16th century. The elements that enable us to estimate the period are first of all the wearing of women's Dan-ryung, and the shape of the gore and sleeve. Second the shape of Jegory's collar, and Gyron-ma-gi. Third the form of layered skirt and Somaja[hat]. Fourth tiger hyung-bae which embroidered patches on the breast and back of official uniforms. Last, the style and types of Jinju-Ryu's who's the spouse clothes. It will be useful to estimate the chronical year of clothes excavated from unidentified tombs when refer this styles of clothes.

본 논문에서는 슬관절 의지 장치의 무릎 각도 제어를 통해 보행 상태를 추론하는 방법을 제안한다. 슬관절 의지의 제어에서 절대위치 엔코더를 이용해 무릎의 각도를 측정하고, 스트레인 게이지를 통해 발바닥의 부하를 측정하여 현재 보행 상태를 추론할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 2개의 센서를 사용하여 현재 보행 상태를 4가지 상태로 추론하는 방법을 제안하였으며, 실험을 통하여 제안된 방법의 유효성을 보였다.
