Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify community health nursing activities that community health practitioners perceive and their achievements in community by reviewing the community health nursing activities that community health practitioners have done for the last 30 years. Methods: This study was a qualitative study. Thirty one community health practitioners were interviewed using the focus group interview method and data were analyzed using content analysis. Data were collected from April to June in 2011. Results: Community health practitioners perceived themselves as "Community Vitalizers" and 9 categories were identified. They were 'ground to explore new nursing areas', 'assimilation to community', 'ground to establish community diagnosis', 'everyday life health management in the community', 'increased accessibility to medical services for the residents', 'enforced health practices for the residents', 'reinforced self-reliance of community', 'commitment to making a happy village' and 'mental fence of the community.' Conclusion: This study was meaningful in that it explained the unique identity of the community health practitioners and could be used as important basic materials in the process of re-establishment of the roles of Health Offices. Hereafter in-depth study on community competence reinforcement should be made to identify the roles of community health nurses.

East Asia has played an important role in the economic and social development in the Asian pacific region and in the global arena. In the region the impact of companies centralizing their logistics activities around a few distribution centers has already led some leading ports such as Singapore, Hong Kong to transform and expand their functions and business activities to provide port users with value added logistics services. Other ports in the region also have an important part to play in the total logistics Chain. In these environments, the maritime activities of Jang BoGo, who was the maritime king of the commercial maritime empire in East Asia in the 9th century, give many implications to the international logistics network strategy that Korea has to take in order to become a power of International Logistics. Though the trading and economic environments at that time may be quite different from today, the super-national maritime management pattern that Jang Bo-go, founder of the Northeast Asian maritime trading kingdom devised, gives us many implications in the global trading and economic environments, in the respects of overseas direct investment and international logistics. Accordingly, the paper aims to examine the establishment of hub port in Northeast Asia, modelled after the maritime network management strategy of Jang BoGo.

Purpose: This study was to identify activities and related problems on health promotion of public health nurses, and to investigate basic data proposed to revise strategies of Health Promotion Nurse Specialists (HPNS). Method: The subjects of this study were 787 public health nurses sampled by clustering of the entire nation of Korea. Data were collected by focus group studies and cross-sectional survey during April to October of 1999. Results: 13.3% of public health nurses took responsibility for health promotion projects and 45.9% were involved in health promotion work with in home care or other routine activities. Also, the factors public health nurses perceived as barriers to implement activities for health promotion were time limitation, lack of ability for planning projects, insufficient time for specialties, inadequate understanding about health promotion project. Conclusion: According to the study, they need to have special education and further technical support. These results have important implications for the establishment for the role of Health Promotion Nurse Specialist. Also, in developing systems and curriculums for Health Promotion Nurse Specialist, the major factors described above need to be considered carefully.

This study attempts to verify effects of CEO' supports, compensation and educational training and those of individual annual salaries and company's sales on promotion of knowledge management expected to contribute to enhancing construction industry's competitiveness, from the perspective of person-organization fit. For the analysis, a total of 368 effective questionnaires were used to conduct independent sample t-test, regression analysis and hierarchical moderated regression analysis. The findings show that individual annual salaries have a positive relationship with company's performance and company's sales also have positive relationships with both knowledge management activities and company performance, and CEO's supports, compensation and educational training are important factors that can improve knowledge management activities. In addition, the principle that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is also operated in construction industry, as in other industries. Therefore, members in a company should conduct optimal strategies to enhance the knowledge management activities through selection and concentration, while governmental agencies require the establishment of IT system for it and supports for related cost and consulting of it.

Numerous regulations have been introduced and a various kinds of institutional intervention have been made by government against the occupational safety and health problems. However, it was serious issue to the workers that what can be claimed by those who meet with apparently harmful and risky working conditions in their social systems. In the view point of employees, their right to be free from unacceptable risk and hazards has not been clearly defined. Therefore, workers have very limited rights to take any actions unless employer or government do their actions. It is believed that this undesirable conditions resulted from Jack of legal definition of workers' right to work in the safe and healthy environment. It has been found increased social pressure to make intervention to the industry to protect workers' health. Also, increased pressure has been kept for deregulation. This conflict lay the current situation in dilemma. The concept of the working environmental right has been developed and discussed in this study to overcome this trade-off confliction. It should be clearly separated between legal aspects and administrative and Policy area to make the regulations effective. Strong enforcement to the industry based on the law should be minimum, however, it should be practically effective in the aspect of workers' right. Administration and policy should be focused on supportive and leading activities to achieve the ultimate goal, safe and healthy working environment. It is concluded that establishment of working environmental right would satisfy workers and industry and it would result in improvement workers' environment and conditions.

The study aims to identify the current status of aquaculture information in Korea and suggests policy directions for its integrated management. Firstly, the study focuses on the identification of the current status of aquaculture information by reviewing how aquaculture information is managed. Secondly, this study identifies problems such as lacks in necessary aquaculture information, inefficiency caused by dispersion and overlapping of information, absence of integrated management system and insufficient sharing of information. After identifying the current status of aquaculture information and its problems, the study suggests three basic directions to systematically integrate and manage the information such as establishment of infrastructure for promoting the integrated management of aquaculture information, generation and systematic management of useful aquaculture information and enhancement of user convenience. Finally, the study suggests detailed strategies such as establishment of a foundation to facilitate integrated management of aquaculture information, organization of organic network, sharing of more information, creation of necessary information through demand survey, creation of systematic management system, provision of a customized total service, and increase in education and PR activities on information use.

This paper is to introduce recent collaborative activities in agricultural weather information services among institutions in Korea as well as key concepts for understanding agrometeorological services. KMA and RDA have agreed upon the establishment of the Joint Committee for Agrometeorolgy at national level to strengthen the national agrometeorological services in data collection, information production, research, and services to end-users of agrometeorological information in Korea. Several on-going joint projects in agrometeorology by RDA/KMA are introduced in brief. The projects being developed are : Strengthening of the Joint Committee of agrometeorology, Extension of observation network for agricultural weather, Production of the detailed agrometeorological information based on numerical weather forecasts, Development of seasonal and interannual weather forecasts for agricultural applications, Information network system for supporting agrometeorological research, and Improvement of agrometeorological information services at national and regional level. Strengthening of programs for the education and training of agrometeorologists will be impending responsibilities of the government. The government must consider establishment of organizations dedicated to and in charge of national agrometeorological services to end-users. RDA and KMA should play a major role to obtain this goal, based on a close cooperation with universities, scientific societies, and other relevant institutions. If this plan is successful, major infrastructures and services in agrometeorology shall be established in the next 5 years, and we can contribute to regional and global societies through sharing experiences and know-hows.

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라의 해양보호구역 제도를 개관하고 제도의 문제점을 도출한 후 해양보호구역의 효과적인 관리를 위한 대안을 제시하는 것이다. 연구결과, 우리나라에는 다양한 법률에 기인해 여러 형태의 해양보호구역이 존재하고 있으나 이를 통합적으로 관리할 수 있는 제도는 마련되지 못한 실정이며 보호구역내 유해행위의 규제에 대한 규정이 미흡하며 해양보호구역의 기능을 제대로 활용하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이들 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방법으로 해양보호구역 지정 및 관리를 총괄하는 단일법률의 제정, 국가차원의 전담 관리기구 조직, 어업금지 해양보호구역 설정 및 해양보호구역 네트워크 구축 등 네 가지의 정책이 제안되었다.

본 연구에서는 우리 나라 컨벤션현황을 고찰하고 컨벤션마케팅의 전략수립에 관해서 컨벤션마케팅 전략계획수립을 살펴보았다. 컨벤션마케팅 전략계획수립은 컨벤션마케팅 활동의 효율성을 달성하기 위해서 컨벤션마케팅의 의사결정방향을 설정하는 것으로서 먼저 컨벤션 시장분석 및 시장세분화를 통해서 표적시장을 설정하고 이를 달성하기 위해서 예산편성 및 컨벤션마케팅 전략을 선정하는 것으로 구성된다. 이러한 컨벤션마케팅 계획에 의거하여 컨벤션 산업은 서비스산업이기 때문에 표적시장에 도달하기 위해서 제품, 가격, 유통, 촉진 뿐 만 아니라 참여자, 물리적 증거, 서비스 조립과정을 포함한 7P를 전략변수로 설정하여야 할 것으로 사료된다.

The role establishment and the activation plan were proposed for 11 Science Institute of Education and 4 Education and Science Institutes located in 15 cities/provinces and Science Resource Centers of 179 municipal/provincial Educational Departments. We had conducted a survey of present status of those institutes and also the fact finding survey was conducted toward office workers asking what activities they must conduct, those they are processing well at present and those they don't like to conduct by quesionaire. It was found that since Science Institute of Education and Education and Science Institutes are under the direct control of Board of Education of cities/provinces, there were the Acts. However, many restrictions were in Science Resource Center because they have not the Acts under controled by municipal/provincial Educational Departments. As a result of a study, the standard of equipments and facilities and the activation plan of those institutes were suggested.
