Exactly measuring traffic load is the basis for efficient traffic engineering. However, precise traffic measurement involves inspecting every packet traversing a lint resulting in significant overhead on routers with high-speed links. Sampling techniques are proposed as an alternative way to reduce the measurement overhead. But, since sampling inevitably accompany with error, there should be a way to control, or at least limit, the error for traffic engineering applications to work correctly. In this paper, we address the problem of bounding sampling error within a pre-specified tolerance level. We derive a relationship between the number of samples, the accuracy of estimation and the squared coefficient of variation of packet size distribution. Based on this relationship, we propose an adaptive random sampling technique that determines the minimum sampling probability adaptively according to traffic dynamics. Using real network traffic traces, we show that the proposed adaptive random sampling technique indeed produces the desired accuracy, while also yielding significant reduction in the amount of traffic samples.

In this paper, we proposed a method to reduce the error of compass by combining the ceiling technique used in the past with modern IT technology. We combined an encoder and the Azimuth Circle for applying an algorithm. The algorithm is able to calculate the true north by using astronomical observation. Finally, we implemented the embedded system possible to indicate various situations and perform calculations. As a result, it isn't only able to calculate the true north with an error of about $0.2^{\circ}$ but also takes less than 5 seconds. Originally, using astronomical observation requires more than 5minutes. So it is analyzed as convenient by solving the problem of taking lots of time. Especially, we present the tolerance less than $0.5^{\circ}$ by the analysis of the existing gyrocompass and the bearing standard of IMO. In conclusion, we clearly confirm that the results of this paper are possible to reduce the error of various compasses in a real world.

A localization system for indoor robots is an important technology for robot navigation in a building. Our localization system imports the GPS system and consists of more than 3 satellite beacons and a receiver. Each beacon emits both an ultrasonic wave and radio frequency. The receiver in the robot computes the distance from it to the beacon by measuring the flying time difference between ultrasonic wave and radio frequency. It then computes its position with the distance information from more than 3 beacons whose positions are known. However, the distance information includes errors caused from the ultrasonic sensors; we found it to be limited to within one period of a wave (${\pm}2\;cm$ tolerance). This paper presents a method for predicting the maximum position error due to distance information errors by using Taylor expansion and singular value decomposition (SVD). The paper also proposes a measuring parameter such as sensitivity to represent the accuracy of the indoor robot localization system in determining the robot's position with regards to the distance error.
In the zoom lens of digital still cameras with the variation of the image plane generated by various symmetric error factors such as curvature, thickness and refractive index error of each lens surface about the optic axis, we induce a theoretical condition to fix constantly the image plane by translating the compensator group of the zoom lens by using the Gaussian bracket. We confirm the validity of this condition by using three examples of general zoom lens types with 3, 4, and 5 groups, respectively. When these error factors are randomly changed within the range of tolerance according to the Monte Carlo method, we verify that the distributions of the degree of moving of the compensator are normal distributions at three zoom lens types. From capability analysis using these results, we theoretically propose the method estimating the standard deviation, that is, sigma-level, as a function of the maximum movement of the compensator.
PURPOSE. The aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of removable partial denture (RPD) frameworks produced using different digital protocols. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 80 frameworks for RPDs were produced using CAD-CAM technology and divided into four groups of twenty (n = 20): Group 1, Titanium frameworks manufactured by digital metal laser sintering (DMLS); Group 2, Co-Cr frameworks manufactured by DMLS; Group 3, Polyamide PA12 castable resin manufactured by multi-jet fusion (MJF); and Group 4, Metal (Co-Cr) casting by using lost-wax technique. After the digital acquisition, eight specific areas were selected in order to measure the Δ-error value at the intaglio surface of RPD. The minimum value required for point sampling density (0.4 mm) was derived from the sensitivity analysis. The obtained Δ-error mean value was used for comparisons: 1. between different manufacturing processes; 2. between different manufacturing techniques in the same area of interest (AOI); and 3. between different AOI of the same group. RESULTS. The Δ-error mean value of each group ranged between -0.002 (Ti) and 0.041 (Co-Cr) mm. The Pearson's Chi-squared test revealed significant differences considering all groups paired two by two, except for group 3 and 4. The multiple comparison test documented a significant difference for each AOI among group 1, 3, and 4. The multiple comparison test showed significant differences among almost all different AOIs of each group. CONCLUSION. All Δ-mean error values of all digital protocols for manufacturing RPD frameworks optimally fit within the clinical tolerance limit of trueness and precision.
Based on the general formula for the area error of a polygon and rectangular parcel, the constant term 0.0262 × M (scale denominator) of the area error calculation formula prescribed by the Enforcement Decree was analyzed. As a result, it is found that the formula appropriately reflects the characteristics of the graphical surveying as a typical rectangular parcel model, but quantitatively allows a relatively large area error. In addition, it is found that, even if the area is the same, 50% more area error than a square parcel could be calculated depending on the shape of the parcel, and that the allowable area error should be different when dividing a parcel. Based on the analysis, furthermore, this study shows a solution that can solve the problems at once from the point of cadastral surveying. These are, the problem of reflecting the accuracy of the surveying, the problem of reflecting the size and shape of the parcel, and the problem whether a single area error formula can be used without having to distinguish between graphical and numerical surveyings. The new formula that solves these problems will bring about improvements in many related factors and promote the development of digital cadastral system.

Recently, the necessity of spatial data in unaccessible area was challenged to set up various plans and policies for preparing the unification and the cooperative projects between South-North Korea. Therefore, this paper planned to evaluate the possibility of adopting the error tolerance in Geometric correction for 1/5,000 digital topographic mapping, using the PLEIADES images and the TerraSAR GCPs (Ground Control Points). The geometric correction was performed by changing the number and placement of GCPs by GPS (Global Positioning System) surveying, as the optimal placement of 5 GCPs were selected considering the geometric stability and steady rate. The positional accuracy evaluated by the TerraSAR GCPs, which were selected by optimal placement of GCPs. The RMSE in control points were X=±0.64m, Y=±0.46m, Z=±0.28m. While the result of geometric correction for PLEIADES images confirmed that the RMSE in control points were X=±0.34m, Y=±0.27m, Z=±0.11m, the RMSE in check points were X=±0.50m, Y=±0.30m, Z=±0.66m. Through this study, we believe if spatial data can integrate with the PLEIADES images and the optimal TerraSAR GCPs, it will be able to obtain the high-precision spatial data for adopting the regulation of 1/5,000 digital topographic map, which adjusts the computation as well as the error bound.
Recently, the construction of three dimensional spatial information of Dam reservoir area is very important part in Dam management work such as sediment survey, but it is difficult to acquire detailed terrain data because totalstation and single beam echo sounder are applied to terrain survey. This study presented method to construct detailed terrain data of Dam reservoir area using LiDAR and multi beam echo sounder. First, LiDAR survey was carried out in land zone and calibration process was applied by ground control point. And also the DEM of land zone was constructed by using algorithm, which eliminated building and vegetation class. As the result of validation of LiDAR DEM using GPS terrain survey, it was possible to construct three dimensional terrain data that was satisfied with the tolerance error of LiDAR, which was the standard error of LiDAR DEM showed as 0.108m. Also multi beam echo sounder was applied to the survey of water zone and it could construct spatial information that was satisfied with bathymetry surveying tolerance error of International Hydrographic Organization by validation with terrain survey data. And LiDAR and multi beam echo sounder data were integrated and it was possible to construct three dimensional spatial imagery information that can be applied to Dam management work such as the estimation of sediment amounts or the monitoring of terrain change by linking with high resolution orthophoto.

Most of light duty AGVs(AGCs) using tape of magnetic for the guide path have digital guidance magnetic sensor. Digital guidance magnetic sensor using magnet-tape is on/off type and has positioning error of magnet-tape as 10~50 mm. AGC using this sensor doesn't induce accurate position of magnet-line which is magnet-tape because of magnetic field which motor in AGC creates, outer magnetic field, earth's magnetic field, etc. AGC when driving wobbles due to this error and this error can cause path deviation. In this paper, we propose fuzzy inference system for improvement of bipolar analog magnetic guidance sensor performance. Fuzzy is suitable in term of fault tolerance, uncertainty tolerance, real-time operation, and Nonlinearity as compared with other algorithms. In previous research, we produced bipolar magnetic guidance sensor and we set the threshold in order to calculate digital values of magnet position. Fuzzy inference system is designed using outputs of Analog hall sensors. Magnet position calculated by digital method is improved by outputs of this system. In result, proposed method was verified by improving performance of magnetic guidance sensor.

GPS data acquired at CORS are widely and rapidly used in many application such as information technology industries. In acquisition of GPS data the establishment of standards of reliability and tolerance error range is necessary. This standards is regarded to contain the requirements of selection of using softwares, precise and broadcast ephemeris, duration of data acquisition, and etc. This study focused to present above standards of tolerance error. In long baseline GPS observation network the RMSE analysed in this study resulted little change when data acquired in 6-hour duration, but the less observation duration resulted less accuracy. Especially in 3-hour observation the accuracy of GPS data decreased rapidly. After analyses of data accuracy in the same observation condition using different computer program between academic and commercial purpose software, the RMSE of academic software resulted less than 1cm compared to 3 to 10cm from commercial software. RMSE analysis between precise ephemeris and broadcast ephemeris resulted similar quantity. Therefore this study regarded to present the reliable establishment of standards of error which can be used in required accuracy in GPS data observation.
