스퍼기어의 전달오차에 관한 연구 (Study on the Transmission Error Prediction for a Spur Gear Pair)

  • Nowadays, lower gear vibration and noise are necessary for drivers in automotive gearbox, which means that transmission gearbox should be optimized to avoid noise annoyance and fatigue before quantity production. Transmission error (T.E.) is the excitation factor that affects the noise level known as gear whine, and is also the dominant source of noise in the gear transmission system. In this paper, the research background, the definition of T.E. and gear micro-modification were firstly presented, and then different transmission errors of loaded torques for the spur gear pair were studied and compared by a commercial software. It was determined that the optimum gear micro-modification could be applied to optimize the transmission error of the loaded gear pair. In the future, a transmission test rig which is introduced in this paper is about to be used to study the T.E. after gear micro-geometry modification. And finally, the optimized modification can be verified by B&K testing equipment in the semi-anechoic room later.

스피커와 마이크의 전달특성을 고려한 단일 센서 능동소음제어 (A Single Sensor Active Noise Control Considering The Characteristics of The Speaker and The Microphone)

  • 능동소음제어는 원치 않는 소음에 대하여 2차 소음으로 상쇄 간섭을 발생시켜 소음을 제거하는 방법이다. 일반적으로 능동소음제어기의 성능은 2차 소음이 주 소음을 얼마나 잘 추정하는가에 따라 결정된다. 2차 소음은 스피커를 통해 발생되며 마이크를 통해 오차 신호를 수음한다. 일반적으로 스피커와 마이크의 전달특성은 이상적이지 못하기 때문에 신호를 왜곡시켜 능동소음제어기의 성능이 저하된다. 본 논문에서는 스피커와 마이크의 전달특성을 고려한 단일센서 능동소음제어기를 제안한다. 스피커와 마이크의 전달특성에 의한 2차 소음의 왜곡을 줄이기 위하여 적응 역모델링 기법으로 전달 특성을 추정하고 주 소음은 Kalman필터를 이용하여 추정한다. 실험을 통하여 제안하는 단일센서 능동소음제어기가 효과적으로 소음을 감쇠시킴을 보인다.

A Cross-Layer Unequal Error Protection Scheme for Prioritized H.264 Video using RCPC Codes and Hierarchical QAM

  • We investigate the rate-compatible punctured convolutional (RCPC) codes concatenated with hierarchical QAM for designing a cross-layer unequal error protection scheme for H.264 coded sequences. We first divide the H.264 encoded video slices into three priority classes based on their relative importance. We investigate the system constraints and propose an optimization formulation to compute the optimal parameters of the proposed system for the given source significance information. An upper bound to the significance-weighted bit error rate in the proposed system is derived as a function of system parameters, including the code rate and geometry of the constellation. An example is given with design rules for H.264 video communications and 3.5-4 dB PSNR improvement over existing RCPC based techniques for AWGN wireless channels is shown through simulations.

Flow Divider Valve의 최적설계를 위한 동특성 해석 (Dynamic Characteristics Analysis for Optimal Design of Flow Divider Valve)

  • Flow divider valve는 한 개의 공급라인에서 두 개 이상의 출력라인으로 유압유를 일정비율로 분배하는 유압제어밸브로서 하중압력이나 공급압력 등에 관계없이 항상 일정비율의 유량분배가 가능해야 한다. 현재 상용제품의 유량분할 정확도는 90~95% 수준이며, 이러한 유량분할오차(Flow dividing error)는 유압시스템에 누적오차로 작용하여 많은 문제점을 야기시키고 있어 보다 고정밀 유량제어가 가능한 Flow divider valve 개발이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 외력을 고려한 스푸울의 거동을 수치적으로 정확하게 조사하여 Flow divider valve의 동특성을 규명함과 동시에 유량분할 오차를 감소시키는 최적설계방안을 제시하고자 한다. 동특성 해석은 일정한 하중저항을 입력신호로 작용하는 경우에 대해서 제시하였으며, 이때의 고정오리피스와 가변오리피스의 단면적 및 스푸울의 단면적 변화에 따른 동특성의 변화를 조사하였다.

Multiple Description Coding using Whitening Ttansform

  • In the communications systems with diversity, we are commonly faced on needing of new source coding technique, error resilient coding. The error resilient coding addresses the coding algorithm that has the robustness to unreliability of communications channel. In recent years, many error resilient coding techniques were proposed such as data partitioning, resynchronization, error detection, concealment, reference picture selection and multiple description coding (MDC). Especially, the MDC using correlating transform explicitly adds correlation between two descriptions to enable the estimation of one set from the other. However, in the conventional correlating transform method, there is a critical problem that decoder must know statistics of original image. In this paper, we propose an enhanced method, the MDC using whitening transform that is not necessary additional statistical information to decode image because the DCT coefficients to apply whitening transform to an image have uni-variance statistics. Our experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a good trade-off between the coding efficiency and the reconstruction quality. In the proposed method, the PSNR of images reconstructed from two descriptions is about 0.7dB higher than conventional method at the 1.0 BPP and from only one description is about 1,8dB higher at the same rate.

  • Transmission error (TE) is defined as "the angular difference between the ideal output shaft position and actual position". As TE is one of the major source of the noise and vibration of gears, it is originally studied with relation of the noise and vibration of the gears. However, recently, with the relation of mesh stiffness, TE has been studied for fault detection of spur gear sets. This paper presents a physics-based theory on fault diagnostics of a planetary gear using transmission error. After constructing the lumped parameter model using DAFUL, multi-body dynamics software, we developed a methodology to diagnose the faults of the planetary gear including phase calculation, signal processing. Using developed methodology, we could conclude that TE could be a good signal for fault diagnostics of a planetary gear.

RAINFALL SEASONALITY AND SAMPLING ERROR VARIATION

  • The variation of sampling errors was characterized using the Waymire-Gupta-Rodriguez-Iturbe multi-dimensional rainfall model(WGR model). The parameters used for this study are those derived by Jung et al. (2000) for the Han River Basin using a genetic algorithm technique. The sampling error problems considered are those for using raingauge network, satellite observation and also for both combined. The characterization of sampling errors was done for each month and also for the downstream plain area and the upstream mountain area, separately. As results of the study we conclude: (1) The pattern of sampling errors estimated are obviously different from the seasonal pattern of monthly rainfall amounts. This result may be understood from the fact that the sampling error is estimated not simply by considering the rainfall amounts, but by considering all the mechanisms controlling the rainfall propagation along with its generation and decay. As the major mechanism of moisture source to the Korean Peninsula is obviously different each month, it seems rather normal to provide different pattern of sampling errors from that of monthly rainfall amounts. (2) The sampling errors estimated for the upstream mountain area is about twice higher than those for the down stream plain area. It is believed to be because of the higher variability of rainfall in the upstream mountain arean than in the down stream plain area.

소프트 에러율에 대한 박막 트랜지스터형 정적 RAM의 신뢰성 (Reliability on Accelerated Soft Error Rate in Static RAM of Thin Film Transistor Type)

  • We investigated accelerated soft error rate (ASER) in static random access memory (SRAM) cells of thin film transistor (TFT) type. The effects on ASER by cell density, buried nwell structure, operational voltage, and polysilicon-2 layer thickness were examined. The increase in the operational voltage, and the decrease in the density of SRAM cells, respectively, resulted in the decrease of ASER values. The SRAM chips with buried nwell showed lower ASER than those with normal well structure did. The ASER decreased as the test distance from alpha source to the sample increased from $7{\mu}m\;to\;15{\mu}m$. As the polysilicon-2 thickness increased up to $1000\;{\AA}$, the ASER decreased exponentially. In conclusion, the best condition for low soft error rate, which is essential to obtain highly reliable SRAM device, is to apply the buried nwell structure scheme and to fabricate thin film transistors with the thick polysilicon-2 layer

  • 안개 및 대기의 교란이 광무선 통신에 주는 영향을 해석하기 위해 가시광선영역의 LD(laser diode) 및 적외선 영역의 LD 사용하고, 카세그레인 광학계를 이용하여 광을 송수신하게 하였으며, 광 소신소자로는 APD(avalanch photo diode)를 사용함을 가정하여 대기 중의 안개의 정도에 따른 가시도 및 교란의 세기를 나타내는 굴절률 구조상수에 따른 광 수신 전력, 잡음 전력을 고려한 SNR(signal to noise ratio)을 계산해 보고 각각의 통신 상태에서 BER(bit error rate)이 $10^{-9}$이 가능한 통신 거리를 알아보았다.

A Study on Phase Bearing Error using Phase Delay of Relative Phase Difference

  • This study proposes a method to reduce the phase error of the received signal to detect the object bearing. The phase shift of the received signal occurs due to the multipath of the signal by natural structure or artificial structures. When detecting the direction of the object using radio waves, the phase of the received signal cannot be accurately detected because of the phase bearing error in the object detection direction. The object detection direction estimation depends on the phase difference, antenna installation distance, signal source wavelength, frequency band and bearing angle. This study reduces the error of the phase bearing by using the phase delay of the relative phase difference for the signals incident on the two antennas. Through simulation, we analyzed the object direction detection performance of the proposed method and the existing method. Three targets are detected from the [-15°, 0°, 15°] direction. The existing method detects the target at [-13°, 3°, 17°], and the proposed method detects the at [-15°, 0°, 15°]. As a result of the simulation, the target detection direction of the proposed method is improved by 2 degrees compared to the existing method.
