Generally, the smoothing pre-filter of sensor's raw measurement(accelerometer and gyroscope) is used for INS's fast alignment. When the pre-filter is abruptly removed at Navigation-mode entry in vibration environment, INS's initial attitude error can be largely generated. So that we propose initial attitude error reducing methods(monotone increasing of cutoff-frequency, real-time attitude estimation), these are proved by simulation.
To overcome problems in tracking error related to the unmodeled dynamics in the high speed operation of industrial robots, many researchers have used sliding mode control, which is robust against parameter variations and payload changes. However, these algorithms cannot reduce the inherent chattering which is caused by excessive switching inputs around the sliding surface. This study proposes a fuzzy-sliding mode control algorithm to reduce the chattering of the sliding mode control by fuzzy rules within a pre-determined dead zone. Trajectory tracking simulations and experiments show that chattering can be reduced prominently by the fuzzy-sliding mode control algorithm compared to a sliding mode control with two dead zones, and the proposed control algorithm is robust to changes in payload. The proposed control algorithm is implemented to the SCARA (selected compliance articulated robot assembly) robot using a DSP (digital signal processor) for high speed calculations.
A new method for reducing the common-mode current generated by the voltage variations in a two-inverter air conditioner system by applying a synchronized pulse-width modulation (PWM) strategy is proposed. The PWM signals of the master-mode inverter are generated based on the reference voltage, while those of the slave-mode inverter are output in the opposite direction when the master-mode inverter changes its switching state. However, the slave-mode control results in a mismatch between the reference voltage and the actual output voltage that is modified by synchronized control operation. The proposed method is capable of reducing and controlling this voltage error by performing signal selection in the vector space of the slave-mode inverter, which mitigates the distortion of the phase current. The efficacy of this method in reducing conducted emissions has been validated both theoretically and experimentally.

This study proposes the control strategy for the seamless mode transfer of indirect current controlled parallel grid-connected inverters. Under the abnormal grid condition, the grid-connected inverter can convert the operation mode from grid-connected to stand-alone mode to supply power to the local load. For a seamless mode transfer, the time delay problems caused by the accumulated control variable error must be solved, and the indirect current control method has been applied as one of the solutions. In this study, the design of control parameters for the proportional-resonant-based triple-loop indirect current controller and the control strategy for the seamless mode transfer of parallel grid-connected inverters are described and analyzed. The validity of the proposed mode transfer method is verified by the PSiM simulation results.

In this paper, we present a 20 GHz low-loss dual-mode channel filter designed by using mode matching method. The performance of dual-mode channel filter mainly depends on iris characteristics. Therefore the exact design of iris is the key point to get good frequncy response of the filter. MOde matching technique is widely used ot design several kinds of waveguide filters because it is simple in theory and can easily calculate the scattering matrices at the discontinuities with simple structure like iris coupled filters. Additionally the effect for finite thickness of the iris in the dual-mode cavity iflter is analyzed by te full-wave method, providing the exact filter implementation without trial and error.

This paper presents a sensorless vector control algorithm of closed loop Gopinath flux observer to enhance the robustness at low speed by switching P/PI mode. Closed loop Gopinath flux observer has the problem in sensorless vector control of induction motor at low speed. This paper solves the problem using the characteristic function of closed loop Gopinath flux observer. P mode shows better performance than PI mode under the cut-off frequency of observer. But P mode always has a flux error due to DC offset, so this paper combines P mode and PI mode. This algorithm shows good performance over wide speed range. The performance has been confirmed through computer simulations using MATLAB SIMULINK and experiments.

Unlike actual vehicles, a vehicle driving simulator is limited in kinematic workspace and bounded on dynamic characteristics. So it is difficult to simulate dynamic motions of a multi-body vehicle model. In order to overcome these problems, a washout algorithm which controls the workspace of the simulator within the kinematic limitation is needed. However, a classical washout algorithm contains several problems such as generation of wrong sensation of motions by filters in tilt coordination, requirement of trial and error method in selecting the proper cut-off frequencies, difficulty in returning the simulator to its origin using only high pass filters and etc. This paper proposes a new tilt coordination method as an algorithm which gives more accurate sensations to drivers. In order to reduce time for returning the simulator to its origin, a new washout algorithm that the proposed algorithm selectively onset mode from high pass filters and return mode from error functions is proposed. As a result of this study, the results of the proposed algorithm are compared with the results of classical washout algorithm through the human perception models. Also, the performance of the suggested algorithm is evaluated by using human perception and sensibility of some drivers through experiments.

Estimate method of cable tension forces can be classified into direct method and indirect method. Direct method is not accuracy and it has many restrictions. Therefore, in generally Indirect method, vibration method using natural frequency, has been applied to estimate the tension forces. In this study, cable tensions of recently constructed cable-stayed bridge are measured using string vibration method and this result comparing with result of multiple mode method. To put it brief, the error of string vibration method is not exceeding 2% under 7th mode. Specially third and 4th mode error is not exceeding 1%. safety.

In this paper, a nonlinear controller based on adaptive sliding-mode method which has a sliding surface vector including new boundizing function is proposed and applied to a two-wheeled welding mobile robot (WMR). This controller makes the welding point of WMR achieve tracking a reference point which is moving on a smooth curved welding path with a desired constant velocity. The mobile robot is considered in view of a kinematic model and a dynamic model in Cartesian coordinates. The proposed controller can overcome uncertainties and external disturbances by adaptive sliding-mode technique. To design the controller, the tracking error vector is defined, and then the sliding surface vector including new boundizing function and the adaptation laws are chosen to guarantee that the error vector converges to zero asymptotically. The stability of the dynamic system is shown through the Lyapunov method. In addition, a simple way of measuring the errors by potentiometers is introduced. The simulations and experimental results are shown to prove the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
