충격 신호 분석에 기반한 침식 지수 개발 (Estimation of Erosion Index Based on Impact Signal Analysis)

  • 이 연구는 브라질 북동부의 Maceió-Alagoas 지역에서 강우로 인한 토양의 침식 지수를 추정할 수 있는 알고리즘을 결정하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2003년부터 2006년까지 10분 이상 지속된 680회의 강우 사례에서 수집한 분당 26,889개의 데이터 샘플은 우적 크기 분포에 따라 분류되었다. 종속 변수와 독립 변수로 구성된 방정식은 99%의 결정 계수로 침식지수를 추정한다. 최소 강우 강도와 침식도의 관계는 통계적 유의성으로 검증되었다.

수정 IAS 지수를 이용한 북한지역의 강우침식인자 추정 (Estimation of Rainfall Erosivity in North Korea using Modified Institute of Agricultural Sciences)

  • Soil erosion in North Korea has been continued to accelerate by deterioration of topographical conditions. However, few studies have been conducted to predict the amount of soil loss in North Korea due to limited data so far. Rainfall erosivity is an important factor to predict the amount of long-term annual soil loss by USLE (universal soil loss equation). The purpose of this study is to investigate rainfall erosivity, which presented the potential risk of soil erosion by water, in North Korea. Annual rainfall erosivities for 27 stations in North Korea for 1983~2010 were calculated using regression models based on modified Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS) index in this study. The result showed that annual average rainfall erosivity in North Korea ranged from 2,249 to 7,526 and averaged value was $4,947MJmm\;ha^{-1}\;hr^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$, which corresponded to about 70% of annual average rainfall erosivity in South Korea. The finding was that the potential risk of soil erosion in North Korea has been accelerated by the increase of rainfall erosivity since the late 1990s.

Prediction of the Major Factors for the Analysis of the Erosion Effect on Atomic Oxygen in LEO Satellite Using a Machine Learning Method (LSTM)

  • In this study, we investigated whether long short-term memory (LSTM) can be used in the future to predict F10.7 index data; the F10.7 index is a space environment factor affecting atomic oxygen erosion. Based on this, we compared the prediction performances of LSTM, the Autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model (which is a traditional statistical prediction model), and the similar pattern searching method used for long-term prediction. The LSTM model yielded superior results compared to the other techniques in the prediction period starting from the max/min points, but presented inferior results in the prediction period including the inflection points. It was found that efficient learning was not achieved, owing to the lack of currently available learning data in the prediction period including the maximum points. To overcome this, we proposed a method to increase the size of the learning samples using the sunspot data and to upgrade the LSTM model.

강우가중치를 이용한 GIS기반 월별 토사유실량 평가 (The Estimation of GIS-based Monthly Soil Erosion with Rainfall Weighting Value)

  • 임하호 유역의 지질은 점토질 및 셰일층으로 구성되어 있기 때문에 강우발생시 흙탕물의 형태로 많은 토립자가 호소로 유입되므로 호소내 탁도관측자료는 유역내 토사유실을 평가하는 간접지표가 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 GIS 기반토사유실모델을 활용하여 연토사유실량을 평가하였으며 월별로 토사유실량을 배분하기 위해 시우량자료를 이용한 강우가중치 기법을 적용하였다. 2003년도 탁도자료를 볼때, 강우가중치에 의한 월별토사유실량 방법이 강우량자료에 의한 월별토사유실량 보다 더 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

Web GIS기반의 복합적 토양 질 평가 시스템 개발 (Development of Composite Soil Quality Index Evaluation System based on Web GIS)

  • It has been known that torrential rainfall events have been occurring worldwide due to climate change. The accelerated soil erosion has caused negative impacts on water quality and ecosystem of receiving waterbodies. Since soil security issues have been arising in various areas of the world, intensive interests have been given to topsoil management in Korea. Thus in this study, Web GIS-based computing system of physical, chemical, and biological topsoil quality indices were developed. In this study, five soil quality maps at national scale and top soil erosion potential were prepared for evaluation of soil quality based on soil erosion potential. For this system, the open source Web GIS engine, OpenGeo, was used as core engine of the system. With this system, decision makers or related personnel in areas of soil erosion Best Management Practices (BMPs) would be able to find the most appropriate soil erosion BMPs based on soil erosion potential and soil quality at the area of interest. The Web GIS system would be efficiently used in decision making processes because of ease-of-use interface and scientific data used in this system. This Web GIS system would be efficiently used because this system could provide scientific knowledge to decision makers or stakeholders. Currently various BMP database are being built to be used as a decision support system in topsoil management and topsoil quality areas.

  • The ageing process was checked by leakage current monitoring in Inclined-Plane Method. In order to monitor leakage current, DAS with 12-bit, 8-channel A/D converter was prepared. The monitored components of leakage current were averages of the rms and peak, max peak, cumulative charge, and the number of peaks in the ranges of 1-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, >50 mA. And, erosion depth was measured to be used as the index of the ageing. So, the results of leakage current components and erosion depth measurement were compared to find one or more components of which trends of changes were similar to that of erosion.

  • 본 연구에서는 유역내 토사유실을 효과적으로 저감하기 위한 GIS 기반의 식생지수분석 방법을 제시하였다. 토사유실은 강우, 토양, 지형 그리고 식생의 피복상태가 복합적으로 작용하여 발생하는 것으로 이를 저감하기 위해서는 비용 및 시간적 측면을 고려해야한다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 자료원으로 유역내의 지형인자, 토양인자, 식생지수등을 비교분석 하여 GIS기반의 DB를 구축하여 향후 활용 가능성에 대해 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 활용한 자료는 토사유출구간의 토양 및 식생정보, GPS 식생 측점에 의한 측점별 식생정보, KOMPSAT-2 위성영상을 활용한 NDVI 식생지수 정보 등을 활용하여 연구를 진행하였다.

해수 환경에서 듀플렉스 스테인리스강의 전기화학적 거동 및 캐비테이션 특성 (Electrochemical and Cavitation-Erosion Characteristics of Duplex Stainless Steels in Seawater Environment)

  • A wet type scrubber for merchant vessel uses super austenitic stainless steels with pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) of 40 or higher for operation in a harsh corrosive environment. However, it is expensive due to a high nickel content. Thus, electrochemical behavior and cavitation erosion characteristics of UNS S32750 as an alternative material were investigated. Microstructure analysis revealed fractions of ferritic and austenitic phases of 48% and 52%, respectively, confirming the existence of ferritic matrix and austenitic island. Potentiodynamic polarization test revealed damage at the interface of the two phases because of galvanic corrosion due to different chemical compositions of ferritic and austenitic phases. After a cavitation test, a compressive residual stress was formed on the material surface due to impact pressure of cavity. Surface hardness was improved by water cavitation peening effect. Hardness value was the highest at 30 ㎛ amplitude. Scanning electron microscopy revealed wave patterns due to plastic deformation caused by impact pressure of the cavity. The depth of surface damage increased with amplitude. Cavitation test revealed larger damage caused by erosion in the ferritic phase due to brittle fracture derived from different strain rate sensitivity index of FCC and BCC structures.

사방공작물 시공이 저서성 대형무척추동물 군집에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Erosion Control Works on Benthic Macroinvertebrate Communities)

  • 본 연구는 산지 황폐계류에 시공한 사방공작물이 저서성 대형무척추동물상에 미치는 영향을 밝히기 위하여 수행하였다. 2007년 4월부터 2008년 10월까지 총 6회에 걸쳐 사방공작물이 설치되지 않은 계곡 상류지역의 대조지점(Site 1)과 사방공작물이 시공된 2개의 지점(Site 2, Site 3)을 대상으로 저서성 대형무척추동물상의 변화와 생물학적 수질 변화를 조사하였다. 저서성 대형무척추동물상은 조사결과 4문 6강 13목 24과 27종 6,922개체가 조사되었으며, 조사지점 평균값으로 볼 때 단각목의 보통옆새우가 우점종으로 나타났다. 다양도지수는 Site 2의 4차 조사에서 1.47로 가장 높았으며, Site 2의 6차 조사에서 0.24로 가장 낮게 나타났다. 균등도지수는 Site 2의 4차 조사에서 0.823으로 가장 높게 나타났고, Site 1의 5차 조사에서 0.194로 가장 낮게 나타났다. 풍부도지수는 Site 1의 1차 조사에서 2.794로 가장 높게 나타났고 Site 2의 6차 조사에서 0.291로 가장 낮게 나타났다. 저서성 대형무척추동물 생태점수 (ESB)는 조사기간동안 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 섭식기능군은 SH(Sherdder)가 조사기간동안 가장 많은 개체수로 조사되었으며, EPT분류군 개체수가 낮아지는 경향을 보였다.

Influence of Spatial Differences in Volcanic Activity on Vegetation Succession and Surface Erosion on the Slope of Sakurajima Volcano, Japan

  • We selected 6 plots ($100m^2$) located 2.2-3.8 km from Minamidake Crater on the north flank of Sakurajima Volcano. We conducted a field study to investigate the effects of volcanic activity on vegetation succession and surface erosion rate. The results showed that trees growing in plots further from the crater had a greater diameter at breast height (DBH), total height, and age. In addition, these plots had a greater number of woody plants and species, as well as a greater total cross-sectional area at breast height. The Fisher-Williams index of diversity (${\alpha}$) and the proportion of evergreen broad-leaved trees were higher in plots located further from the crater. Vegetation succession in these plots was not at the level of a climax forest. From 1972 to 2015, the timing for active volcano, the depth of volcanic ash layer, the dry density, and the pH of ground surface were lower for plots located further from the crater. Furthermore, the average annual sheet erosion from 1972 to 2015 was also lower for plots located further away from the crater. Overall, plots further away from the crater have a better environment for vegetation growth and a lower dry density of the volcanic ash surface layer. It is thought that lower dry density results in increased soil permeability, which impedes surface flow. In order to prevent debris-flow disasters, caused by mud and rock flow resulting from impaired soil penetrability, it is essential to promote soil development and restore penetrability by artificial vegetation restoration.
