  • This paper is aimed to handle quick work for all the workers and to improve the productivity by adding more effective content in Crane Monitoring System. This contributing proportion of the increase of port productivity is more increasing concerning not only the port industry, but also all the informations of container crane which is the representative equipment by the rapid increase of the volume of freight of port. The basic of rapid service is the improvement of the productivity, the information of operation as to the productivity of crane for the quick handling within yard and especially the informations of breakdown and to handle breakdown as soon as possible has a greate effect on the increase of productivity.

Assessment of the Labor Productivity Indicies for Industry Foodservice Establishments in Seoul (서울시내 사업체 단체급식소의 노동생산성 지수 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Indicies of the labor productivity were assessed from 80 industry foodservice erstablishments in terms of meals served per labor hour, labor minutes per meal served, and labor cost per meal served. The labor productivity indicies were also assessed according to variables related to work such as working hours, paryment for the workers, volume of feeding, utilization of foodservice equipment, use of processed foods, and background of employees. The summary of the results was as follows: 1. Manufacturing sector among surveyed industry foodservice showed the highest labor productivity indicies followed by training institute. 2. 28.8% of surveyed establishments used dishwashing machine, while manual dishwashing was used in 71.3% of subjects, equipped rate point was 9.8 out of 20, and disposable dish was used in 30% of subjects. 3. A significant positive relationship was found between the number of meals and the labor procductivity indicies. As the number of meals increased, more meals were served per worker as per labor hour. 4. A significant negative relationship was found between price of meal and the labor productivity didicies. As the price of meal increased, less meals were served per worker as well as per labor hour.

  • This study presents a method for estimating the productivity of the ship operation in container terminal. The productivity of the ship operation is influenced by the specifications of each piece of equipment and layouts of the terminal, and the operational strategies. The handling equipments considered in this study are QC(Quay Crane), RMGC (Rail mounted gantry crane), and Transporter (TR). The simulation experiments are conducted to estimate the QC productivity based on the change of the design factors.

  • EES System support to maximize equipment efficiency by providing real-time information of main equipment which has a significant effect on product quality and productivity, and to prevent equipment failure by detecting equipment abnormality in advance. Smart Equipment Engineering System(S-EES) integrates the activities performed at equipment that are the core of production activities and manages them by system so as to maximize the efficiency of equipment and raise the quality level of products to one level. In other words, when the product is put into the equipment, the recipe is downloaded through the RMS, the recipe is set to the optimal condition through R2R(process control), and the system detects and controls the abnormality of the equipment during operation through the FDC function in real time it means. In this way, we are working with the suitable recipe that matches the lot of product, detecting the abnormality of the equipment during operation, preventing the product from being defective, and establishing a system to maximize the efficiency through real-time equipment management. In this study, we review the present status and problems of equipment management in actual production lines, collect the requirements of the manufacturing line for the PCB line, design and develop the system, The measurement model was studied.

  • Dozer is an expensive construction equipment and has a significant performance impact on earthwork performance. A machine guidance system has been applied to dozer equipment as a solution that can improve the performance. The system can provide earthwork-related information to equipment operators so that earthworks can be carried out with minimum support from surveyors. Construction Equipment Machine guidance has the function of supporting earthwork according to an earthwork plan by providing excavation-related information to machine operators. The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance improvement of a machine guidance system for an dozer earthwork operation, and to compare the machine guidance method with the traditional method. The performance has been evaluated in two folds: 1) productivity and 2) accuracy. The productivity shows the quantity of earthwork for a given unit time. The accuracy shows the deviation of grading level from the designed level on the construction drawing for earthwork. The machine guidance system has been applied to a testing bed in a construction site. Data comparison analysis showed that the earth earthwork had 46.59% improvement in productivity as well as 46.96% improvement in accuracy, and is expected to provide a tool for applying smart constrction to the earthwork operation.

Development of a Prototype Equipment for Road Stripe Removing Using High Pressure Water-Jet (워터젯을 이용한 노면표시 제거장비의 프로토타입 개발)

  • Current removing process is labor intensive and time consuming, employing a conventional grinding type manual machine. This manual tasks trigger various dangers such as unexpected traffic accidents or explosions of propane gas used for finalizing removing process, leading to health damage and environment pollution by dusts and noxious gases. Accordingly, it is necessity for the development of new alternative equipment. In this paper, we have developed a prototype equipment for road stripe removing made up with a high-pressure water-jet system as a mobile type system. The following shows the results. First, an analysis of the current road stripe removal process showed that it can be divided into a) preparation, b) removal and c) ground finishing. It also showed that the b) removal process requires equipment which can cover the whole process. Second, the study compared between the productivity of the developed equipment and conventional methods, and it obtained 280% productivity improvement compared to the conventional equipment.
