  • A maintenance plan of power system equipment reduces failure rate caused by equipment's age. To prevent unexpected failure, the maintenance is performed periodically according to the interval time. The more expansive equipment's scale is, the more the maintenance without considering costs sustains a economical loss. Hence, the maintenance's time and the cost must be considered when maintenance which is considering the reliability is implemented. In this paper, optimum maintenance interval is calculated by considering minimum maintenance cost of the equipment with the combined cycle units in Korea power systems.

  • The nuclear power plant(NPP)'s Instrumentation and Control(I&C) system periodically conducts integrity checks for the maintenance of self-diagnostic function during normal operation. Additionally, it performs functionality and performance checks during planned preventive maintenance periods. However, there is a need for technological development to diagnose failures and prevent accidents in advance. In this paper, we studied methods for estimating the reliability function by utilizing environmental data and self-diagnostic data of the I&C equipment. To obtain failure data, we assumed probability distributions for component features of the I&C equipment and generated virtual failure data. Using this failure data, we estimated the reliability function using representative artificial intelligence(AI) models used in survival analysis(DeepSurve, DeepHit). And we also estimated the reliability function through the Cox regression model of the traditional semi-parametric method. We confirmed the feasibility through the residual lifetime calculations based on environmental and diagnostic data.

  • A signal equipment improvement project for the existing facility ATS to ATP is under construction in Kyung-Bu and Ho-Nam commercial line including 400 rolling stocks. But there was a concern for the interface between KTX OBCS and ATP from the beginning of the project. At present, this is the front burner event. This paper introduces interface checking and predicted failure point between KTX OBCS and ATP improvement system. Through this measure the optimal installation of the ATP will be possible. The study was made under maintenance efficiency including reliability because the KTX signal equipment must qualify the above condition.

  • The primary role of traction power systems is to provide reliable and continuous electrical energy to satisfy traction loads. AC traction substation transforms power from generation company and supply the power to the electric railway power line. Forced outage rate(FOR) of the equipment of substation should be used in the evaluation. This paper proposes the fast and easy way to evaluate by using Bayes' theory when a new equipment is added to the existing substation facility.

  • In this paper we introduce an applicable RCM(Reliability centered maintenance) method for Track circuit equipment of AREX's Signalling System. AREX computerize all the process of FRACAS(Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System)) by the Facility Management System of Integrated Information System. These datum were analysed and reproduced as the RAMS index value which can be used by maintenance staff for optimizing the maintenance method of the System.

  • In this thesis, accelerated life test (ALT) method and procedure for rubber O-ring are applied to assure specified reliability of the products at guaranteeing the life of the products. Rubber O-ring is parts that keep intensity or make machine operation smoothly on attrition portion of machine and is used to prevent that oil is leaked. Usually. Rubber O-ring used NBR that is copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene. this are superior oil resistance, heat resistance, durability of abrasion, cold resistance, chemical resistance etc. The accelerated life test model for rubber O-ring are developed using the relationship between stresses and life characteristics of products. Using the accelerated life test method and the acceleration life test equipment which is developed, we performed life test, collected life data and analyzed the results of tests. The proposed accelerated life test method and procedure may be extended and applied to testing similar kinds of products to reduce test times and costs of the tests remarkably.

  • This paper proposes an improved investment pnonty decision method of facilities considering the reliability of distribution networks. The proposed method decides an investment order of the facilities combining, by fuzzy rules, the investment priority decision by KEPCO and that by reliability evaluation indices. The reliability evaluation indices are SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) and SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index). The reliability analysis method of distribution networks applied in this paper utilizes the analytic method, where the used reliability data is the historical data of KEPCO. Particularly, we assumed that the failure rate increases as the equipment ages. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we applied it with the planned projects to reinforce the weak electrical facilities in KEPCO in 2004. The evaluation result showed that, under a limited budget, the reliability of KEPCO in the Busan region using the proposed method could be enhanced if used rather than the conventional method typically in place. Therefore, the results verify that the proposed method can be efficiently used in the actual priorities method for investing in the electrical facilities.
