A Cloud-Edge Collaborative Computing Task Scheduling and Resource Allocation Algorithm for Energy Internet Environment

  • To solve the problems of heavy computing load and system transmission pressure in energy internet (EI), we establish a three-tier cloud-edge integrated EI network based on a cloud-edge collaborative computing to achieve the tradeoff between energy consumption and the system delay. A joint optimization problem for resource allocation and task offloading in the threetier cloud-edge integrated EI network is formulated to minimize the total system cost under the constraints of the task scheduling binary variables of each sensor node, the maximum uplink transmit power of each sensor node, the limited computation capability of the sensor node and the maximum computation resource of each edge server, which is a Mixed Integer Non-linear Programming (MINLP) problem. To solve the problem, we propose a joint task offloading and resource allocation algorithm (JTOARA), which is decomposed into three subproblems including the uplink transmission power allocation sub-problem, the computation resource allocation sub-problem, and the offloading scheme selection subproblem. Then, the power allocation of each sensor node is achieved by bisection search algorithm, which has a fast convergence. While the computation resource allocation is derived by line optimization method and convex optimization theory. Finally, to achieve the optimal task offloading, we propose a cloud-edge collaborative computation offloading schemes based on game theory and prove the existence of Nash Equilibrium. The simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm can improve output performance as comparing with the conventional algorithms, and its performance is close to the that of the enumerative algorithm.

Rederivation of Gertler's model and analysis of the Korean economy

  • This paper makes a theoretical contribution by providing clear and detailed derivation of economic agents' decision problems including elastic labor supply in Gertler's overlapping generation (OLG) model. We apply the model to the Korean economy by calibration based on Korean economic data. It also analyzes the impact of current social issues such as aging and extension of retirement age, on the Korean economy in a long-run equilibrium. Subsequently, we also discuss the implications of the analysis. Aging has prolonged the period of retirement; therefore, population structure changes by the increase in the proportion of retirees, the total consumption-to-GDP ratio decreases, and capital stock increases due to reduced propensity to consume out of wealth in preparation for an individual's retirement life. The implementation of retirement age extension increases the proportion of retirees relatively less and alleviates fluctuations in labor supply and the share of financial assets for both economic agents. However, the decrements in consumption-to-GDP ratio is larger than before, and this leads to a larger rise in the capital stock compared to when there is only an aging effect.

Prediction of total sediment load: A case study of Wadi Arbaat in eastern Sudan

  • Prediction of total sediment load is essential in an extensive range of problems such as the design of the dead volume of dams, design of stable channels, sediment transport in the rivers, calculation of bridge piers degradation, prediction of sand and gravel mining effects on river-bed equilibrium, determination of the environmental impacts and dredging necessities. This paper is aimed to investigate and predict the total sediment load of the Wadi Arbaat in Eastern Sudan. The study was estimated the sediment load by separate total sediment load into bedload and Suspended Load (SL), independently. Although the sediment records are not sufficient to construct the discharge-sediment yield relationship and Sediment Rating Curve (SRC), the total sediment loads were predicted based on the discharge and Suspended Sediment Concentration (SSC). The turbidity data NTU in water quality has been used for prediction of the SSC in the estimation of suspended Sediment Yield (SY) transport of Wadi Arbaat. The sediment curves can be used for the estimation of the suspended SYs from the watershed area. The amount of information available for Khor Arbaat case study on sediment is poor data. However, the total sediment load is essential for the optimal control of the sediment transport on Khor Arbaat sediment and the protection of the dams on the upper gate area. The results show that the proposed model is found to be considered adequate to predict the total sediment load.

Microstructural modeling of two-way bent shape change of composite two-layer beam comprising a shape memory alloy and elastoplastic layers

  • A two-layer beam consisting of an elastoplastic layer and a functional layer made of shape memory alloy (SMA) TiNi is considered. Constitutive relations for SMA are set by a microstructural model capable to calculate strain increment produced by arbitrary increments of stress and temperature. This model exploits the approximation of small strains. The equations to calculate the variations of the strain and the internal variables are based on the experimentally registered temperature kinetics of the martensitic transformations with an account of the crystallographic features of the transformation and the laws of equilibrium thermodynamics. Stress and phase distributions over the beam height are calculated by steps, by solving on each step the boundary-value problem for given increments of the bending moment (or curvature) and the tensile force (or relative elongation). Simplifying Bernoulli's hypotheses are applied. The temperature is considered homogeneous. The first stage of the numerical experiment is modeling of preliminary deformation of the beam by bending or stretching at a temperature corresponding to the martensitic state of the SMA layer. The second stage simulates heating and subsequent cooling across the temperature interval of the martensitic transformation. The curvature variation depends both on the total thickness of the beam and on the ratio of the layer's thicknesses.

이류확산 방정식 계산을 위한 입방보간유사입자 격자볼츠만 모델 (The Cubic-Interpolated Pseudo-Particle Lattice Boltzmann Advection-Diffusion Model)

  • We propose a Cubic-Interpolated Pseudo-Particle Lattice Boltzmann method (CIP-LBM) for the convection-diffusion equation (CDE) based on the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) scheme equation. The CIP-LBM relies on an accurate numerical lattice equilibrium particle distribution function on the advection term and the use of a splitting technique to solve the Lattice Boltzmann equation. Different schemes of lattice spaces such as D1Q3, D2Q5, and D2Q9 have been used for simulating a variety of problems described by the CDE. All simulations were carried out using the BGK model, although another LB scheme based on a collision term like two-relation time or multi-relaxation time can be easily applied. To show quantitative agreement, the results of the proposed model are compared with an analytical solution.

  • An combined implicit/explicit scheme for the analysis of sheet forming problems has been proposed in this work. In finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes, the robustness and stability of computation are important requirements since the computation time and convergency become major points of consideration besides the solution accuracy due to the complexity of geometry and boundary conditions. The implicit scheme dmploys a more reliable and rigorous scheme in considering the equilibrium at each step of deformation, while in the explict scheme the problem of convergency is elimented at thecost of solution accuracy. The explicit approach and the implicit approach have merits and demerits, respectively. In order to combine the merits of these two methods a step-wise combined implici/explicit scheme has been developed. In the present work, the rigid-plastic finite element method using bending energy augmented membraneelements(BEAM)(1) is employed for computation. Computations are carried out for some typical sheet forming examples by implicit, combined implicit/explicit schemes including deep drawing of an oil pan, front fender and fuel tank. From the comparison between the methods the advantages and disadvantages of the methods are discussed.

Metaheuristic-designed systems for simultaneous simulation of thermal loads of building

  • Water cycle algorithm (WCA) has been a very effective optimization technique for complex engineering problems. This study employs the WCA for simultaneous prediction of heating load (LH) and cooling load (LC) in residential buildings. This algorithm is responsible for optimally tuning a neural network (NN). Utilizing 614 records, the behavior of the LH and LC is explored and the captured knowledge is then used to predict for 154 unanalyzed building conditions. Since the WCA is a population-based algorithm, different numbers of the searching agents were tested to find the most optimum configuration. It was observed that the best solution is discovered by 500 agents. A comparison with five newly-developed benchmark optimizers, namely equilibrium optimizer (EO), multi-tracker optimization algorithm (MTOA), slime mould algorithm (SMA), multi-verse optimizer (MVO), and electromagnetic field optimization (EFO) revealed that the WCANN predicts the desired parameters with considerably larger accuracy. Obtained root mean square errors (1.4866, 2.1296, 2.8279, 2.5727, 2.5337, and 2.3029 for the LH and 2.1767, 2.6459, 3.1821, 2.9732, 2.9616, and 2.6890 for the LC) indicated that the most reliable prediction was presented by the proposed model. The EFONN, however, provided a more time-effective solution. Lastly, an explicit predictive formula was elicited from the WCANN.

Plastic deformation characteristics of disintegrated carbonaceous mudstone under dynamic loading

  • The excessive settlement and deformation of disintegrated carbonaceous mudstone (DCM) embankments under dynamic loading have long been problems for engineers and technicians. In this work, the characteristics and mechanism of the plastic deformation of DCM under different degrees of compaction, water contents and confining pressures were studied by static triaxial, dynamic triaxial and scanning electron microscopy testing. The research results show that the axial stress increases with increasing confining pressure and degree of compaction and decreases with increasing water content when DCM failure. The axial strain at failure of the DCM decreases with increasing confining pressure and degree of compaction and increases with increasing water content. Under cyclic dynamic stress, the change in the axial stress level of the DCM can be divided into four stages: the stable stage, transition stage, safety reserve stage and unstable stage, respectively. The effects of compaction, water content and confining pressure on the critical axial stress level which means shakedown of the DCM are similar. However, an increase in confining pressure reduces the effects of compaction and water content on the critical axial stress level. The main deformation of DCM is fatigue cracking. Based on the allowable critical axial stress, a method for embankment deformation control was proposed. This method can determine the degree of compaction and fill range of the embankment fill material according to the equilibrium moisture content of the DCM embankment.

Reviewing the Assessment of Optimal Yield of Groundwater in Korea

  • The optimal yield is defined as the amount of groundwater that maintains a dynamic equilibrium state of the groundwater system over a long period. We examined the current problems, improvements, and methods for estimating the optimal groundwater yield in Korea, considering sustainable groundwater development. The optimal yield for individual wells and the sustainable yield for the entire groundwater basin were reviewed. Generally, the optimal yield for individual wells can be determined using long-term pumping and step drawdown tests. The optimal yield can be determined by groundwater quantity and quality, economic, and water use rights factors. The optimal yield of individual wells in the groundwater basin must be determined within the total sustainable amount of the entire groundwater basin, such that the optimal yield of a new well must be less than the remaining total sustainable amount, exempting the total optimal yield of the existing wells. Therefore, the optimal yield may be determined based on the estimated optimal yield at least twice per year. In addition, if groundwater level and pumping quantity data for at least one year are available, it may be effective to use the Hill, Harding, and zero groundwater-level change methods to re-estimate the optimal yield.

다계층을 고려한 대중교통 확률적사용자균형 알고리즘 개발 (A Stochastic User Equilibrium Transit Assignment Algorithm for Multiple User Classes)

  • 본 논문은 기존에 제대로 다루지 못한 대중교통 통행자의 확률적 속성과 이질적 특성을 고려한 다계층 확률적 사용자균형 통행배정모형을 개발하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 기존 대중교통 통행배정모형은 통행자의 특성이 모두 동일하다고 가정하기 때문에 현실적인 결과를 도출하는데 한계를 갖고 있다. 예를 들어 대중교통에 대한 정보를 제공받는 그룹과 그렇지 못한 그룹이 존재하는 경우, 이들 간에는 분명히 통행패턴에 차이가 있음에도 불구하고 이를 정확히 표현하는데 어려움이 있었다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 통행자의 확률적 속성과 이질적 특성을 반영한 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 통행자간 인지비용의 차이는 확률적 통행배정으로 구현되었으며, 그룹간의 이질성은 다계층 통행배정모형으로 구현하여 현실성 있는 대중교통 분석결과를 도출해 내도록 하였다. 모형구축에 있어 각 계층의 통행량에 영향을 받는 통행비용함수를 구축하였고, 기존 로짓모형의 단점으로 나타난 비관련대안의 독립성 (IIA) 문제를 해결하기위해 C-로짓모형을 적용하였다. 연구결과 계층별 / 경로별로 배정통행량 및 동등경로통행시간에 뚜렷한 차이를 보이고 있으며, 확률적 사용자균형 상태에 이르렀다. 또한 수렴속도도 빠르게 나타났으며, 반복횟수가 증가함에 따라 확률적 사용자 균형에 좀 더 가까워지고 각 계층별 / 경로별로 수렴함을 확인 할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 알고리즘은 향후 통행목적별 OD자료와 대중교통 승객의 이질적 속성 파라미터를 다양하게 적용해 봄으로써 대중교통정책의 평가도구로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.민원을 고려한 노선대안 선정이 이루어진다면, 철도사업 뿐만 아니라 여러 공공사업을 시행함에 있어 정부와 시민 그리고 지방단체의 합의를 통한 원활하고 효율적인 사업진행이 이루어 질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.$Gal^3Man_4$를 첨가후 측정한 결과 $Gal^3Man_4$이 첨가되지 않은 MRS broth에 비해 생육촉진 활성을 보였다. 특히 B. longum에 대해서는 $Gal^3Man_4$를 dextrose대체 탄소원으로 처리시 10배의 생육활성이 증가하였다.charide와 thiourea, phenylthiourea의 반응혼합물의 항산화력은 AsA에 미치지는 못하였다. ${\beta}-1,4-Mannobiose$와 thiourea, phenylthiourea의 반응혼합물이 강한 전자공여능을 나타내고 있고, $Gal^3Man_4$와 phenylthiourea의 반응혼합물 및 D.P 7의 galactosyl manooligosaccharide와 phenylthiourea와의 반응혼합물이 전자공여능을 나타내고 있다.가하였으므로 혈청 내 ALT 함량도 따라 증가할 것으로 추정되었으며 이에 대한 연근 추출물 경구 투여가 간 조직을 보호할 수 있는지를 확인하기 위해 분리한 혈청으로부터 ALT 함량을 측정한 결과 대조군에 비하여 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. 또한 연근 추출물이 혈청 내 지질 과산화물의 생성을 억제할 수 있다면 질병의 예방과 치료에 효과적일 것으로 추정할 수
