^x The enviroment defines the living conditions for people and has at the same time the possibility to create new environment. In Korea, where the rate of urbanization reached more than 50% in 1970′s the priority has been put on the economic development and administrative function. Under the circumstance, visual environmental field was dealt lightly and it resulted in undesirable environment. The techniques of Mordern Arts (Montage, Depeysment, Tromp L′oeil, P.O.P Art, etc.) helped Super Graphics appear in the urban areas. Environmental Art has been expended into the public space and people came to recognize the Arts as the "Street Art" or "Street as Gallery". Super Graphics has four types 1) Resident′s Super Graphics ; Minority groups came to maintain social equality and rights, in cooperation with each other. Such maintenance required general urbanites to form communities which gave birth to the community art, Mural Painting. 2) Environmental Super Graphics ; Beauty has come to be stressed in order to improve the quality of urban lives in the course of inescapable urban development. Instead of renewal of all established construction conservation oriented renewal was encouraged. 3) Super Graphics as Population Arts ; In the 1960′s artists repulsed the establishments in an efforts to open new phase independent from the expressional in the arts. They recognized the relationship between painting, society and the public in different angle and tried to describe all living space on canvas. 4) Super Graphics as Advertisement ; Super Graphics functions as efficient media to deliver images to the urbanites. Super Graphics as media plays the role for political propaganda and commercial advertisements according to their purposes. In Korea, especially, it is required to introduce the environmental Super Graphics. But it is desirable to introduce Super Graphics with Korean culture and sense of beauty. Designers themselves are also required to have responsibility to improve the quality of urban culture.

A software for prediction of apartment noise level ihas been improved. The program is based on the ray tracing technique which has been widely used in the environmental noise analysis and prediction. Especially for prediction of environmental noise in apartment complex, this program is advanced in the graphics routine by bilinear interpolation. In this paper, we analyze the railway noise distribution in apartment environment and develop a 3D graphics routine for illustrating the noise level.

Therefore, considering the underground environmental graphics as the: sign or the signification-function, It has to be studied on syntactic, semantic and pragmatic viewpoint. SpeCifically, to maKe the color and formation language a signification-function as a generalized connotation to the public, a distinctive classified Visual language must be applied.

To prevent unwanted visual impacts of proposed projects before they are actually built, Visual Impact Assessment(VIA) is conducted in current landscape planning and management process. The application of VIA to actual projects raises some important questions: "What views will the project affect?" "What tools and techniques are effective for predicting and portraying future landscape conditions?" "Who should determine the value of the impacts?" and "How can the impacts be measured?" Types and levels of visual impacts should be decided through analyzing both the existing landscape and the proposed project. Computer-based visual simulations will play a pivotal role as effective prediction and communication tools. With professionals' assistance, the public participation in the VIA process will produce meaningful solutions for planning and managing the future landscape. Also, the use of a proper response format and sensitive assessment criteria in measuring the public's opinion will enrich outcomes of the assessment. Based on the methodological framework, the case study briefly explains an application of VIA to an actual project.

This paper proposes an automatic hexahedral mesh generation method, in which internal medial surfaces are established to partition a region using the face-offsetting method. In order to test the usability of the suggested method, aspect ratios and Jacobians of the generated mesh for two models are evaluated and compared with ones from existing methods. It is verified that the proposed medial surface generation and partitioning scheme based on the face-offsetting method can be effectively used in the automatic hexahedral mesh generation procedure.

The strut-tie model approach has been recognized as an efficient methodology for the design of all types of concrete members with D-regions, and the approach has been accepted in design codes globally. However, the design of concrete members with the approach requires many iterative numerical structural analyses, numerous graphical calculations, enormous times and efforts, and designer's subjective decisions in terms of the development of appropriate strut-tie model, determination of required areas of struts and ties, and verification of strength conditions of struts and nodal zones. In this study, a computer graphics program, that enables the design of concrete members efficiently and professionally by overcoming the forementioned limitations of the strut-tie model approach, is developed. In the computer graphics program, the numerical programs that are essential in the strut-tie model analysis and design of concrete members including finite element analysis programs for the plane truss and solid problems with all kinds of boundary conditions, a program for automatic determination of effective strengths of struts and nodal zones, and a program for graphical verification of developed strut-tie model's appropriateness by displaying various geometrical shapes of struts and nodal zones, are loaded. Great efficiency and convenience during the application of the strut-tie model approach may be provided by the various graphics environment-based functions of the proposed program.

In this study and design, I explore the visual communication design process related to wayfinding in Wonkwang University Hospital in Iksan City. The purpose for designing an integrated is to graphically communicate the complex information. I have designed a graphic information system combining graphic elements such as typography, color, image and text layout, and graphic image to present interpretive and communicative processes. As a result of designing, the wayfinding is s term used to describe the program of applying environmental graphics and or architectural sign systems. In other words, wayfinding is the art of helping people find their way by utilizing visual communications such as signs, directories, landmarks, edges, paths and so on. Wayfinding can also be explained as the ability to know where one is in space and how to find one's way through space. Wayfinding design then becomes a systematic arrangement of the variables that allows patients and visitors to successfully find their desired destinations, especially in a hospital.
