The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between environment-friendly housing behaviors and the influential variables among consumers by focusing on housing life. This research carried out a questionnaire survey with housewives living in Seoul and the Metropolitan area using a questionnaire that was composed based on previous research. The housewives' environment-friendly housing attitudes and their resource-saving knowledge level, along with environmental education-related variables, house ownership, and the housewives' employment appeared to be significant variables in explaining the generic environment-friendly housing behaviors found in this research. Three regression equations, classified into purchasing, utilization, and disposal behaviors, were employed. The empirical results were relatively similar to those for the generic environment-friendly housing behaviors; however, each model provided somewhat different results in some specific aspects. All the environmental education-related variables appeared to be significant in explaining environment-friendly housing utilization behaviors, and were similar to the results obtained from the generic environment-friendly housing behaviors. However, the variables were limited in explaining environment-friendly housing-related disposal behaviors. The convenience, recycling ease, and family-structure variables appeared to be significant influences on environment-friendly housing-related disposal behaviors. Most empirical results of this research were consistent with those of previous studies. However, the explanatory independent variables varied, depending on the types of each domain of environment-friendly housing behaviors studied.
The purpose of this study is to analyze environment-friendly consumption behaviors and consumption value of adolescent consumers, and to analyze the effects of environmental knowledge, environment and experience, perception of environment, the awareness of consumption and environmental pollution, and consumption value on environment-friendly consumption behaviors of them. The data were collected by 999 adolescent consumers in Jeju Province. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe’s multiple range test using SPSS 12.0 Program . The results are as follows. Economy had the most cause and effect influence on environment-friendly purchasing behaviors, followed by experience of environmental activities, eco-friendliness, esthetic sense, enjoyment, and awareness of consumption and environmental pollution. Regarding the environmentfriendly consumer behavior, economy is the most influential factor, followed by eco-friendliness, awareness of consumption and environmental pollution, experience of environmental activities, environmental knowledge and monthly average allowance. Eco-friendliness had the most cause and effect influence on environment-friendly disposal behavior, followed by awareness of consumption and environmental pollution, economy and experience of environmental activities.

The purpose of this study was to figure out the effects of parents' energy conservation awareness and behaviors on young children's environment-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 160 kindergarten children and their parents in the farming and fishing communities located in N city, Chungnam through June 10 to June 30, 2013. The results of the analysis were as follows. First, the effect of parents' energy conservation awareness on young children's environment-friendly attitudes showed that parents' environmental preservation awareness and energy conservation awareness had an effect on young children's environment-friendly attitudes. Second, the effect of parents' energy conservation behaviors on young children's environment-friendly attitudes showed that parents' general behaviors and selective behaviors had an effect on young children's environment-friendly attitudes. Third, the effect of parents' energy conservation awareness on young children's environmental preservation knowledge showed that parents' environmental preservation knowledge and energy conservation awareness had an effect on young children's environmental preservation knowledge. Fourth, the effect of parents' energy conservation behaviors on young children's environmental preservation knowledge showed that parents' general behaviors and selective behaviors had an effect on young children's environmental preservation knowledge. As for findings stated above, parents' energy conservation awareness and behaviors had a positive effect on children's environment-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge. This implies that parents' right energy conservation awareness and behaviors are important to enhance children's positive environment-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge.
The purpose of this study is to develop an environmental education program for environmentally friendly consumer behaviors by analyzing factors influencing the attitude-behavior relationship, and examining consumer information needs about environmental problems. Environmental information demanded by consumers could be classified into five main areas; 'use and disposal of environmentally friendly resources', 'purchase of environmentally friendly goods', 'environmental problems and consumer sovereignty', 'environmental laws and regulations' and 'environmental values and consumer's civil consciousness'. Based on the study results, an environmental education program for consumers was developed which consisted of two main parts, basis and practice. The former aimed to strengthen consumer consciousness about environmental problems and the latter, to make regular environmentally friendly consumer behaviors. The two parts were correlated. Thus strengthening environment-related consumer consciousness by learning the part of basis could promote of environmentally friendly consumer behaviors.
This research was composed over a period of 10 times and was performed to be conducted in an environmental education class for 4 months from September to December of 2008 by selecting 32 experimental group students and 32 control group students from OO Middle School in the Busan area. An environmental education program utilizing lIM(independent investigation method) was composed by selecting a theme for environmental education among the environmental curriculum in middle schools. The results of analyzing the effects which influence environmental sensitivity and environment-friendly behaviors after applying the environmental education program utilizing IIM are as follows. First, it was revealed that the environmental education program utilizing IIM is more effective among experimental group students than control group students in regards to environment-friendly sensitivity. Second, it was revealed that the environmental education program utilizing IIM is more effective among experimental group students than control group students in regards to environment- friendly behaviors. Third, it was seen that even students responded very favorably toward environmental education program utilizing IIM.
The purpose of this study was to examine the consumption behaviors regarding environment-friendly agricultural products by food-related lifestyles of housewives. The data were collected from 298 housewives living in Yeungnam region through a self-administered questionnaire during April, 2010. Frequencies, Cronbach's $\alpha$, factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test and chi-square test were conducted by SPSS Windows. The results obtained from this study were as follows. Lifestyles were categorized into five factors by factor analysis: healthy-seeking type, popularity-seeking type, convenience-seeking type, safety-seeking type and taste-seeking type. The respondents belonged to one of three groups by cluster analysis: popularity-seeking group, convenience-seeking group, and wellbeing-seeking group. The main reason given for purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products was safety. The respondents were satisfied with the safety of environment-friendly agricultural products the most. Many respondents purchased environment-friendly agricultural products at large discount markets, and received information about them from mass media. There were significant differences among three groups in the place of purchase environment-friendly agricultural products, information source for environment-friendly agricultural products, most important factor when purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products, the level of satisfaction with environment-friendly agricultural products and the purchase rate of environment-friendly agricultural products among the monthly food expenses.
This study was conducted to investigate the differences in households, parental perception, and dietary behaviors of preschool children from kindergartens with environment-friendly food service (environment-friendly food service group; EFG) versus children from kindergartens with general food service (general food service group; GFG). We sought this basic information to examine the impact of environment-friendly agricultural products in preschool food services. Age, education level, and monthly family income of the EFG were significantly higher than the GFG. The frequency of purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products was significantly higher in the EFG than the GFG, with the most frequently purchased items in both groups being vegetables. The GFG had a significantly higher perception than the EFG in the superior quality of environment-friendly agricultural products; however, a greater proportion of the GFG than the EFG thought environment-friendly products were too expensive. The most frequent reason for purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products in both groups was safety. When purchasing environment-friendly agricultural products, the most important selection factor for the majority of both groups was the label certifying quality assurance. Both groups also considered price reduction as essential for promoting environment-friendly agricultural products. In regard to parental perceptions on food service in kindergarten, the EFG had a significantly higher satisfaction with the nutritional adequacy of the menu compared to the GFG. Both groups considered food safety and health as primary reasons for using environment-friendly foods in the preschool food service, with a greater proportion of the EFG than the GFG responding this way. There were significant differences between the EFG and GFG, as the main satisfaction from using environment-friendly foods in the EFG was safety, freshness, and good hygiene, whereas the main satisfaction in the GFG was a good food service menu, freshness and good hygiene. Dietary behaviors of preschool children in the EFG were also significantly superior to the GFG. Thus, environment-friendly agricultural products have positive effects on the dietary behaviors of preschool children and should be increased in the preschool food service. Lowering prices and a strict supervision of quality assurance is also necessary to promote consumption of environment-friendly food materials.
The main purpose of this research was to examine the variables that influence environment-friendly management behaviors of family resources. For this study, environment-friendly management behaviors were classified into four categories: buying, using, recycling and disposal. Another purpose of this study was to find out the levels of environmental education, environmental knowledge, and environmental consciousness among household managers. In order to determine the levels, a structured survey questionnaire was administered and data were collected from 391 housewives who live in Seoul and Jeonju. The results show that environmental consciousness and environmental knowledge affected buying and disposal behavior. There was a significant difference in using behavior by the degree of environmental consciousness. The variables that affected recycling behavior were environmental education and environmental consciousness. The level of environmental awareness was highest in ! environmental consciousness, second highest in environmental knowledge, and lowest in environmental education.
This study had the following aims: (1) To examine the significance of an eco-friendly environment based on the experiences of adventure sports participants, and to identify eco-friendly behaviors; (2) To review the characteristics of adventure sports that are held in a natural environment, as well as the existing problems in different adventure sports fields (3) To conduct an analysis of various eco-friendly behaviors and of the efforts that are being exerted to address a wide range of problems related to environmental pollution, by employing qualitative research methods, in a bid to ultimately present the symbiotic, coexistent, and harmonious relations between nature, sports, and humans. Ten individuals who were engaging in the adventure sports of scuba diving and paragliding were selected for the study, and the gathered data were analyzed based on the "surjection", "unit", "sign", and "subject" factors. The results of the analysis show that most of the adventure sports participants who were the subjects of the study believe that an eco-friendly environment helps protect and preserve nature, which is the basis of human life that adventure sports flourish in a natural environment that nature sustains adventure sports and that dealing carelessly with nature, or concentrating on the exploitation of nature for development purposes a real danger to its preservation. It was established in the study that keen adventure sports participants, or those who have a passion for and a thriving career in adventure sports, can do much to address environmental problems. The results of the study demonstrate that the link between sports and nature will promote a keen interest in and love for nature among sports enthusiasts as well as an awareness of the need to protect and preserve it, which will in turn lead them to develop a desire to do such. When these are realized, concrete images of eco-friendly behaviors will be seen on the part of a greater number of people.
This study set out to investigate consumers' attitudes toward pro-environment, and their actual purchasing behavior. It aimed to empirically examine the effects of the consumers' attitudes toward pro-environmental products, the importance of the product attributes and the perceived value of the companies' environmental activities, on their purchasing behavior of eco-friendly fashion products, including their satisfaction, trust, and repurchase intention. The questionnaires were administered on 304 married women with previous experience of buying eco-friendly fashion products. The results were as follows. First, the consumers' behavioral patterns in terms of environmental concerns and the purchasing of eco-friendly household items were significantly positive in relation to the purchasing behaviors of eco-friendly fashion products. Second, the importance of eco-friendly attributes was significantly positive in relation to the purchasing behaviors of eco-friendly fashion products. Third, the perceived value of corporate environmental activity was not related to the purchasing behaviors of eco-friendly fashion products. Finally, the purchasing behavior of eco-friendly fashion products was significantly positive in relation to the satisfaction with eco-friendly fashion products as well as the trust and repurchase intention, and satisfaction and trust positively affected the repurchase intention. The implication of the research and direction for future study were discussed.
