Although we know that images of a country or an industry are influential factors in product evaluation, there has been little discussion about the channels through which consumers form a country or an industry image. Guided by the assumption that the image of the Korean fashion industry conveyed through U.S. media will likely affect the evaluation of Korean fashion products, we decided to examine articles published between January 1998 and June 2008 in Woman's Wear Daily(WWD), a prestigious U.S. daily trade newspaper covering all aspects of the national and international fashion business. By using the "Korean", we found 329 relevant articles. Through content analysis, we identified the aspects of the Korean fashion industry that have been considered salient to U.S. fashion media professionals. We set up categories based on the contents of the articles that discussed segments of the supply chain of the fashion industry. We found more comments on the Korean fashion industry as fiber and fabrics supplier or apparel manufacturer than in any other categories, which reflects that South Korea has been traditionally one of the most attractive sourcing countries for the U.S. fashion business. We identified significantly less coverage on the designing, branding, marketing, and retailing aspects of the Korean fashion industry. Due to economic boom in Korea, the country's fashion industry is recognized as having a highly fashion-conscious market that can afford the world's premium brands. However, the industry is viewed as being rather vulnerable to changes in the macro economic environment.
In the post-Cold war world, the threat of terrorism is emerging as the most formidable challenge. The terrorist attacks including 9.11 World Trade Center attack have proved such challenge. It has become apparent that no country is safe from the scourage of terrorism. The region of the southeast Asia is no exception to this trend. The Bali bombing of 2002, killing about 200 innocent people, demonstrated that the threat environment had significantly altered. Today, local and regional groups such as Jemiah Islamiah can conduct terrorist operations as devastating as those carried out by Al Qaeda. As fighting terrorism is a complex multi-dimensional task, the responsibility for fighting terrorism must not rest with a single government. The burden must be shared by both the local governments and international communities. In addition, To prevent another bombing of the scale of Bali, countries in the region of southeast Asia must respond decisively. The purpose of this study is to examine the current situation on terrorism in the southeast Asia and to provide perspectives on future terrorism in this region. To foster the better understanding, historical survey on the terrorism in the region and local terrorist groups' network with the foreign terrorist organizations including Al Qaeda have been researched. Based on the result of the research, this paper provides a perspectives and evaluation on the future terrorism in the southeast Asia. It also provides an implications for our reference in the war against terrorism.
An emergy analysis of the main energy flows driving the economy of humans and life support systems was made including environmental energies, fuels, and imports, all expressed as solar emjoules. The total emergy use (4, 373 E20 sej/yr) is 90 per cent from imported sources, fuels and goods and services. The emergy flows from the environment are modest, because the share of global inputs such as ruin and geological uplift flux is modest. Consequently, the ratio of outside investment to attracting natural resources is already large, like other industrialized countries. The population level is already in excess of carrying capacity. The emergy use per person in Korea indicates a moderate emergy standard of living, even though the indigenous resource is very poor. If the present economy were running entirely on stored reserves of fuels, soils, woods, etc., it would last about 2 years. Its carrying capacity for steady state on its renewable sources is only 3.3 million people, compared to 43.3 million in 1991. Continued availability of foreign oil at a favorable balance of emergy trade, currently about 7 to 1 net emergy, is the basis for present economic activity and must decrease as the net emergy of foreign oil purchased goes down. Close economic integration with Middle East may determine how long this is possible in the future.
This study is to look at the relationship of entrepreneurship(innovativeness, risk-taking), the learning competence, environmental factors(the domestic market hostility, the speed of technological change) and export performance in international new ventures(INVs). In addition, the integrated model is constructed for the purpose of analysis of the moderating effects of environmental factors. Through the existing investigation, nine hypotheses are set up. PLS(Partial Least Square) analysis method is used to sample of 115 INVs. Analysis, the two elements of entrepreneurship influenced the positive(+) in the learning competence and export performance. And the relationship of learning competence and export performance is significant. In the moderating effects, only the domestic market hostility has a significant moderating effects between the learning competence and innovativeness. The results of this research shows that innovativeness influence the learning competence playing a positive role in the performance in the domestic market is higher. This point illustrates the practical implications of the importance of innovation in learning empowerment.

With the rise of a decentralized finance market (so called, DeFi) using blockchain technology, users and capital liquidity of decentralized finance applications are increasing significantly. The Automated Market Maker (AMM) is a protocol that automatically calculates the asset price based on the liquidity of the decentralized trading platform, and is currently most commonly used in the decentralized exchanges (DEX), since it can proceed the transactions by utilizing the liquidity pool of the trading platform even if the buyers and sellers do not exist at the same time. However, Automated Market Maker have some disadvantages since the cost efficiency of each transaction using Automated Market Maker depends on the liquidity size of some liquidity pools used for the transaction, so the smaller the size of the liquidity pool and the larger the transaction size, the smaller the cost efficiency of the trade. To solve this problem, some platforms are adopting Transaction Path Routing Algorithm that bypasses transaction path to other liquidity pools that have relatively large size to improve cost efficiency, but this algorithm can be further improved because it uses only a single transaction path to proceed each transaction. In addition to just bypassing transaction path, in this paper we proposed a Multi-Path Routing Algorithm that uses multiple transaction paths simultaneously by distributing transaction size, and showed that the cost efficiency of transactions can be further improved in the Automated Market Maker-based trading environment.

This study points out a problem that the vehicle rotation area provided in a dead-end parking lot for apartment blocks is misused as unreasonable parking places but accordingly, the edge parking spaces are rarely used for parking. Therefore, this study aims to establish a parking design standard to improve the parking convenience and land-use efficiency by investigating the real parking behaviors and problems identified in the study area, multiple apartment blocks in Haeundae-gu, Busan. This study calculated two simple linear regression models for two mutually exclusive factors, such as the parking convenience and land-use efficiency, respectively, and specified a trade-off point that optimizes both factors. The study results found that parking convenience and land-use efficiency can be improved by not only changing the misused vehicle rotation area to normal parking spaces depending on the usage pattern, but also by increasing the width of the edge parking spaces from 2.3m to 2.6m. Finally, this study suggests two parking design cases for more realistic design applications by considering the parking environment in the dead-end parking lot for apartment blocks.
Purpose - The movie market has the characteristics of being a perfectly competitive market as well as a pure monopolistic market at the same time. This is because there are competitors in the industry but prices, although not fixed, have not changed a lot. Price competition may not have spread, but the competition is focused on artistic value, and the degree of box office success is most important. The artistic value is determined in the course of the production process. However, the degree of box office success is dependent upon the marketing manager. The marketing strategy represents the difference in the standard or quality of the movie. Inherently, the marketing manager adopts the entertainment strategy based on the quality of the foundation of the completed movie. At this time, the marketing manager knows the pertinent information (high quality/low quality) regarding the movie. This research study tries to reveal what should be the reasonable movie marketing expense, dependent on the quality of the movie. Research design, data, and methodology - Using a game scenario with different market players, the goal of the research analysis is to find out the following. First, the marketing expense is determined to maximize the profits after film production. Second, after the production costs are already committed, the manufacturer gets to choose the marketing level. At this time, there will be a profit maximization point, considering the competition. The premise of the research is as follows: if it is a good movie of quality, positive word of mouth increasing the audience continuously slows down the speed of the demand curve. If the movie quality is bad, the negative word of mouth decreasing the audience gradually hastens the speed of the demand curve. On the marketing side, when the manufacturer invests heavily in the marketing expense of the movie, consumer expectations increase to drive up the audience numbers. On the other hand, it is difficult to improve the profits excessively. When the manufacturer invests in marketing a little bit, the marketing expense is only relatively committed, therefore a lot of demand cannot be gained. Results - If a fixed market share is in a competitive situation, a low quality manufacturer expends relatively more marketing expense. If the situation assumes two manufacturers spend the same for the cost of production, the high quality manufacturer takes more profit. If the manufacturer expends less marketing budget to save costs, the optimum profit cannot be achieved since the other party (opponent) grabs the initial market share. Conclusions - In conclusion, investment is essential for market share to increase. We must refrain from a zero-sum game and have models where the game participants pursue the creative profits together. In the current film industry, there is the dominating logic of winner and loser but we have to create a film industry environment where the participants can be altogether satisfied and live together.
A variety of customized marketing strategies are being implemented in the telecommunications market, including the offering of gifts to consumers, as competition in the market is being restructured with the focus on bundled products. However, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has recently imposed fines for user discrimination on telecommunication carriers whose marketing strategies have included the award of excessive prizes. In that regard, various issues related to the suitability and appropriate limit of the current gift regulation in the telecommunications market have been raised. Since the Fair Trade Commission, which had a similar scheme to that of the KCC, abolished the regulation on gifts in July 2016, disputes have arisen as to whether the current regulation on gifts is practically effective from the perspective of consumer benefit. In other words, discussions on the rationality of the theoretical and empirical grounds for the regulation on gifts only in the telecommunication market but not in other commodities markets have begun. As such, this study aims to empirically analyze the suitability of the current regulation on gifts in the domestic telecommunications market under the new competitive environment centered on bundled products, and to seek the rational improvement of, and infer the implications for, the regulation on gifts in the telecommunications market based on the results of the analysis.
According to the "2021 Trade Statistics" released by the Korea Customs Service, the number of domestic export companies has decreased by 2,400 since COVID-19, and the number of importers has increased by 10,000. Exporting companies are making a great contribution to the economic development of Korea along with the creation of domestic jobs. At a time when the logistics environment changes rapidly, there are insufficient papers analyzing the impact of eco-friendly logistics strategies of domestic exporters on logistics performance. In order for exporting companies to continue to have global competitiveness and improve logistics performance, it is necessary to analyze the impact of eco-friendly logistics strategies on the logistics performance of exporting companies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of eco-friendly logistics strategies of domestic export companies on logistics performance. The eco-friendly logistics strategy is divided into an internal strategy and a supply chain management strategy. As a result of the analysis, it was analyzed that the internal strategy has a positive effect on the logistics performance of exporting companies, and the supply chain management strategy has a positive effect on the logistics performance of exporting companies. As such, it was analyzed that the eco-friendly logistics strategy of exporting companies is an important resource for companies and serves as the basis for improving the logistics performance of companies.

The role of the foreign direct investment is very crucial for the regional economic growth nowadays. The inward FDI in Korea has been increased since the Act of foreigner investment promotion in 1998. The municipal and national government have designated the special industrial zones and supported the diverse incentives for the foreign investment companies. The service sector had a large share of inward FDI. However, manufacturing sector overtook the service sector as the largest FDI in 2009. This study focuses on the greenfield manufacturing FDI, which was established from 1999 to 2012 in Korea. In order to find out the impacts of low-priced industrial electricity and loose environmental regulations on choosing Korea, this paper did in-depth interviews with MOTIE, Korea industrial complex, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, some FDI companies. Investment incentives such as low price of domestic industrial electricity strongly affect why manufacturing FDI companies choose Korea to invest. The Korean government has also acknowledges that low-price policy can internationally compete to attract FDI. There is a possibility that FDI energy-guzzling industrial companies may choose for Korea to use the low-priced electricity, raising the issue of supply-demand of electricity of Korea in the future.
