  • This study examined the status of application about all over the wiring system facilities for the high quality at the environment of the apartment houses through on-site investigation and indicated the problems and supposed to the improvement plan in comparison between technical standard and high-speed information-communication building recognition standard.

  • It is important to control environment information such as temperature in distribution & logistics systems. To manage temperature and environment information in realtime, SCCM(Smart Cold Chain Management) system must manage and integrate tags and various types sensor information. But, it needs standard code system to manage and integrate various types tags and sonsors. In this paper, we propose standard code system to apply the SCCM system.

Improvement of Atmospheric PM2.5 Levels and Related Premature Deaths in Seoul, Korea (서울시 대기 중 PM2.5 농도 개선과 조기사망 감소 효과)

  • In recent studies, $PM_{2.5}$ has been reported to be more harmful to human health than $PM_{10}$ because it penetrates more deeply into the lung. We estimated $PM_{2.5}$ related health benefits in Seoul from implementing the World Health Organization (WHO)'s guidelines (annual average $10{\mu}g/m^3$, 24-hour average $25{\mu}g/m^3$) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s National Ambient Air Quality Standard (annual average $15{\mu}g/m^3$, 24-hour average $35{\mu}g/m^3$). U.S. EPA's Environmental Benefits Mapping and Analysis Program was utilized for the analysis. It was predicted that the attainment of the WHO annual guideline and U.S. EPA's annual standard, relative to the concentration in 2006, would result in reduction of 2,333~2,895 premature deaths and 1,703~2,121 premature deaths, respectively. If the WHO and EPA's daily standard for $PM_{2.5}$ are attained, 1,211~1,394 and 1,012~1,165 premature deaths could be avoided, respectively. Sensitivity analyses indicated that the estimates were robust regardless of air quality simulation methods for attaining the $PM_{2.5}$ goals. This study provides a quantitative approach to evaluate health risks from air pollution as well as to assess the potential health benefits of improving atmospheric $PM_{2.5}$ concentration. Even considering the intrinsic limitations and uncertainties of the analysis, it is an important information to rationalize the enforcement of $PM_{2.5}$ management policies and measures in Seoul, Korea.

  • Recently, Not only PC environment but also movile environment using XML for translating data. But the mobile delevopment is more limited but need highler security than PC environment Because there is some important service such as mobile banking. In this paper, We development the system to encrypt and decrypt the XML data in order to protect data, And the system is observing the recommendation of the XML Encryption Syntax and Processing by W3C. When encrypting the data, We use the entryption algorithm DES, Triple-DES, AES, SEED and RSA. and consideration of the mobile environment Last, We test the system at WIPI environment.

Optimization of membrane fouling process for mustard tuber wastewater treatment in an anoxic-oxic biofilm-membrane bioreactor

  • Membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology has previously been used by water industry to treat high salinity wastewater. In this study, an anoxic-oxic biofilm-membrane bioreactor (AOB-MBR) system has been developed to treat mustard tuber wastewater of 10% salinity (calculated as NaCl). To figure out the effects of operating conditions of the AOB-MBR on membrane fouling rate ($K_V$), response surface methodology was used to evaluate the interaction effect of the three key operational parameters, namely time interval for pump (t), aeration intensity ($U_{Gr}$) and transmembrane pressure (TMP). The optimal condition for lowest membrane fouling rate ($K_V$) was obtained: time interval was 4.0 min, aeration intensity was $14.6 m^3/(m^2{\cdot}h)$ and transmembrane pressure was 19.0 kPa. And under this condition, the treatment efficiency with different influent loads, i.e. 1.0, 1.9 and $3.3kgCODm^{-3}d^{-1}$ was researched. When the reactor influent load was less than $1.9kgCODm^{-3}d^{-1}$, the effluent could meet the third discharge standard of "Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard". This study suggests that the model fitted by response surface methodology can predict accurately membrane fouling rate within the specified design space. And it is feasible to apply the AOB-MBR in the pickled mustard tuber factory, achieving satisfying effluent quality.

  • Recently, interest and social expectation for children's environment are on the rise. The needs for construction of safe and pleasant child care environment has bees agreed with. Especially, as the number of children who are wanted to go center jumped with additional support the government for child care business, centers have also seen a boost. But as number of child care centers increases rapidly in short period, the quality of centers is more inferior to before. and the space and facility level of many centers don't reach in legal minimum standard. In addition to, when child care centers are reviewed, it tend to be judged by one standard without considering connection with sense of values about child care or philosophy, child's traits, surrounding environment etc. Therefore, it is important to construct environment that can consider children's physical development and behavioral characteristic as well as basic element such thing as protection and support activity for current child care centers. This study presupposes that physical environment of child care centers makes important effect on teacher's motion and child's development, then it is to investigate it's characteristics in physically space, facilities, outdoor playground. And It is to identify space and accommodations, outdoors facilities which can support activity smoothly inside and outside. As a result, it is try to offer appliable basic information about the child-friendly environment of child care centers.

Predicting Harvest Maturity of the 'Fuji' Apple at the Gunwi Province of the South Korea using DTS Phenology Model (DTS (Days Transformed to Standard temperature) 생육 모델을 활용한 군위 지역의 '후지' 사과 성숙기 예측)

  • Fuji apple variety introduced in Japan has excellent storage quality and good taste so it is most commonly cultivated in the Korean Peninsula. Accurate prediction of harvest maturity allows farmers to more efficiently manage their farm, such as working time, fruit storage, market shipment and labor distribution so it is very important. This study was carried out to predict the harvest maturity of 'Fuji' apple using DTS (Days Transformed to Standard temperature) model based on the Arrhenius law in the Gunwi province of the South Korea. Input data are daily average temperature and apple harvest maturity. Predicted the harvest maturity of Fuji apple after estimating the optimal parameters by using the Nelder-Mead method. The differences of observed and predicted harvest maturity day are approximately 1 to 4 days and the RMSE is 2.9.

Assessment for Exposure Levels of Hazardous Substances in Kids Cafes within Some Metropolitan Area (일부 수도권지역에서의 키즈카페 내 유해물질 노출수준 평가)

  • Objectives: In this study, we investigated an assessment for exposure levels of hazardous substances to kids cafes that unregulated by law. Methods: Heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, pesticides and phthalate were measured at 20 kids cafes in Gyeonggi-do and Incheon. Samplings were conducted from April to July in 2018. Results: Heavy metals were detected over the standard mainly around the floor and walls in the 19 kids cafes. Pesticides were detected in 7 locations with chlorpyrifos, diazinon and cypermethrin, and showed the highest detection level of chlorpyrifos. The concentrations of DEHP in all kids cafes were exceeded with standard. The risk assessment results showed that HCHO as carcinogen had a safety level and DEHP as non-carcinogens had a safety level as assessed to be under than 0.1. Conclusions: Considering the exposure investigation results and the importance of child health protection, kids cafe should be included in the legal management list of children's activities zones.

  • In this paper, we reviewed the ACR-NEMA Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard that was developed for medical imaging equipments interconnected on the standard networks. We also built a simple system that can transmit JPEG compressed DICOM file on network environment and display this medical image on remote-machine.
