The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic design elements for dwelling environment planning of downtown in Taegu.The evaluation of the dwelling environment should be approached from the satisfaction and the cognitive of the residents, that are based on their desire and various values on the conditions of residential area. This paper concerns the satisfaction and the congnitive image structure of the residents in the various dwelling types, from which design elements for dwelling environments can be derived. The results are as folIows: 1) The analysis on the satisfaction of dwell ins environment shows lots of displeasure about the lack of open-spaces and the housing low-quality, neighborhood in Mun-hwa, Korean style housing and the low-rise apartment areas. In order to make the variety types of dowelling in downtown district, the improvement of housing qualities and the expantion of the urban facilities for the open-spaces and communities are need. 2) The design elements of dwelling environments in downtown find out the important planning elements for urban design. The evaluation of the cognitive image structures about the safety and affection should be considered in design for urban dwelling areas.

After North Korea's sixth nuclear test, the operational environment on the Korean Peninsula has fundamentally changed, and the South Korean military faces various security challenges, including a reduction in military service resources and shorter military service periods. In particular, the South Korean military is seeking a new paradigm in military construction amid changes in the defense acquisition environment linked to the push for defense reform 2.0 and the utilization of the fourth industrial revolution. Therefore, this study considered strategies for improving the operational test and evaluation of weapons systems suitable for changes in the defense acquisition environment to effectively prepare for existing military threats and future warfare patterns. For this purpose, external environment analysis and internal capabilities were diagnosed using PEST Analysis and SPRO Analysis, and improvement strategies were derived through SWOT analysis.

The importance of environment has been increased recently, and it has affected architectural area especially no less than any other area. This study performed POE on the housing sectors, which have been approved as ‘The Environment-Friendly Housing Certification (KOEAM 2000)’, to evaluate the recognition and value of the residents. The study employed survey method and the items of questionnaire are based on the detailed criteria of the ‘The Environment-Friendly Housing Certification (KOEAM 2000)’. Through the analysis of investigated substance, this study compared the differences between the quantitative satisfaction and the qualitative satisfaction of the residents, and investigated the differences between the degree of satisfaction and the degree of importance, and the preference to the evaluation criteria. As a result, it is deduced that the qualitative aspects rather than the quantitative aspects affects the satisfaction of residents more in some criteria. It is also investigated that the awareness and requirements level of residents varies according to the demographics, and the differences between the evaluation criteria of the residents and the certification system is also deduced. Through this analysis, this study tried to find the supplemental points of the certification system which pursue the sustainable development and accommodate the requirements of residents.

현대의 지구환경은 무차별적인 산업화로 인한 공해로 오염되어가고 있다. 또한, 생태계 환경을 고려하지 못한 과밀화된 도시는 인간의 주거환경을 심각하게 위협하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 '환경적으로 건전하고 지속가능한 개발(ESSD)'을 위하여 국내외에서 많은 연구를 진행하고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 우리의 환경에 적합한 모델의 개발이나 이를 위한 계획요소의 연구가 이루어지지 않는 등 관련체계가 잡혀져 있지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 생태도시와 단지조성을 위한 생태적 계획요소에 대해 전문가 설문을 실시하였다. 많은 이들이 생태적인 개발에 대한 필요성은 인식하고 있지만, 아직 많은 부분에서 현실성이 부족하다는 것이 큰 문제점으로 지적되었다. 한편으로는 환경에 관한 교육과 홍보 및 성공적인 모델과 구축과정의 개발이 선행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

This study focuses on a concrete understanding of the characteristics of perceptions and needs about healthy housing of the elderly, who represent the most vulnerable group of people in society, on the four evaluation dimensions of healthy housing as part of the research for evaluation indicators development for housing health performance in apartments. First, it was found that the elderly perceive an environment where their physical health is well supported as the most important factor for healthy housing. Additionally, the management support of the housing was perceived as the second most important consideration. Second, the most frequently used area for the elderly is the living room and a desired place to be added to indoor spaces was a room of their own or a 'living room', which clearly indicates the importance of the indoor environment for the elderly. Third, the biggest factor for the interior environment that affected the satisfaction level of the elderly in their housing was largely based on the convenience factor that helped lesson the discomfort in their daily life due to the physical aging process, and also on factors related to the pleasant indoor surroundings. Based on the concepts discovered in this study on healthy housing, more concrete items should be developed in the future for an extensive indicator for health performance evaluation, and actual research on the general public should follow suit.

Modern residing equipment developed much quantitatively along with economic growth but improvement for agreeable residing space of indoor environment is insufficient situation yet. Also, the latest sick-building syndrome discharging room contaminant such as Formaldehyde, toluene, radon etc. built house or buildings newly human body threaten. Radon of them is real condition that raise origination of lung cancer next to smoke. So, wish to in this research by one of solution way of these problems adsorption performance and specie performance excellent activated carbon to concrete bricks for deconstipating suppository that is room finish fare mix and examine closely after grasp physical, mechanical special quality, hazardous substance and specie performance effect. According to result that estimate environment efficiency evaluation, the $CO_2$ absorption amount displayed decrease effect more than about 90% in activated carbon metathesis rate 40% and radon release amount displayed tendency that decrease about $76{\sim}96%$ in activated carbon metathesis rate 40%.

The promotion of walking and bicycling is recently a hot topic in the urban planning and design field. Many planners have already examined the many components of the land use-transportation connection and built environment-physical activity link. A rapidly growing area of urban form research is to measure the level of walk-ability in urban environments. With this background, this research conducted a preliminary study to develop the evaluation indicators of pedestrian environments. Based on the literature reviews on walking or pedestrian environments, we proposed the seventeen indicators related with pedestrian facilities, road attributes and walking environment. We also performed a questionary survey to evaluate the satisfaction of their neighborhood pedestrian environments for 302 randomly selected adults living in the City of Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do. Finally, this research provided the valid model to evaluate the effects of physical environmental factors on the walking satisfaction using factor analysis and multiple regression analysis.

There are more interests and studies to change the buildings into eco-friendly spaces as the present age recognizes nature-friendly environment more and more. In response to this trend, the government reinforces regulations for the variety of the eco-friendly buildings using a certification system. The eco-friendly certification system which was started only for residing since 2002, and this has been now for schools that are the spaces of the students who will lead the future since March 2005. The purpose of this study is to help understanding of the eco-friendly buildings, and to popularize and activate those as developing and making up for the classification system, evaluation items, detailed standards to evaluate them more precisely by analysing eco-friendly planning features and data of the eco-friendly certificated schools. This study selected 15 eco-friendly certified schools among the schools certified by the Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affaires since 2005, and analyzed evaluation result. After the analysis, I had a thorough grasp of the point distribution of the each building, analyzed the cause of the low points or no points, and tried to find the improvements. There should be continuing adjustment and complement for the evaluation items and detailed standards, and these should be applied to models as well as certified schools. Active public relations are also needed to educate the public and elevate their participation.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate and analyse the characteristics and images of interior environment design in the living rooms, bed rooms and kitchen of the apartment, using the e-model houses of the apartments that will be constructed by 10 construction companies and be occupied after 2006. The 29 defined terms were used in this study to describe the interior image trend. They were systematized by a 5-point scale for the SD evaluation, and were used as a tool to analyse the images. The images were evaluated by methods, such as monitoring the image photos showing the individual rooms in their e-model houses and making their slide film, and reediting them to understand interior atmospheres completely. The image evaluation was performed by the group of 2nd and 3rd year students in the Housing & Interior Design of D University on December 9, 2005, and the data were analysed using SPSS Statistical Program 12.0 for Windows.

Most studies in the past in testing and benchmarking on Intrusion Detection System (IDS) were conducted as comparisons, rather than evaluation, on different IDSs. This paper presents the evaluation of the performance of one of the open source IDS, snort, in an inexpensive high availability system configuration. Redundancy and fault tolerance technology are used in deploying such IDS, because of the possible attacks that can make snort exhaust resources, degrade in performance and even crash. Several test data are used in such environment and yielded different results. CPU speed, Disk usage, memory utilization and other resources of the IDS host are also monitored. Test results with the proposed system configuration environment shows much better system availability and reliability, especially on security systems.
