As competition between companies increases in the international market, a stronger Management Information System that can support all areas of the business is needed According to this trend, more and more companies are introducing Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) to construct a Management Information System In this study, ERP module composition direction suitable for shipping companies were proposed through theoretical review and case studies.

With the introduction of the RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety), the interest of the system assurance has been increased. First of all, fast-growing electronic circuit requires analyzing the failure rates, by dividing the signalling system more specifically. Since 2005, the K.N.R (Korean National Railway) has incorporated ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) in order to establish the complete status as the top international comprise, therefore while ordering the project, it has established the classification system and then has been applying to ERP system in 2007. Due to the complex of the classification system, the reliability analysis of the signalling system was assessed with the limit of IXL ATP with On-board and wayside equipment. This paper assumed MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure), MTTR((Mean Time Between Repair) of total signalling system, by using the classification of ERP program.

Recently, many companies want to accept and operate ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system in their fields ERP does not only include business, but also include finance, account, trade, personnel and BPR(Business Process Reengineering). Especially, it is necessary to have ERP system for companies which have lots of external business such as trade and communication sector. And then, in this paper, I will think about OLTP (On-Line Transaction Processing) system for operating ERP system and improve its defects that can operate more effective sales, circulation, demand plan. But it is regrettable that I can not make a comparative analysis with other systems because the ERP system is still on the introductory stage for the company studies and the benefits have not been realized yet. Another limitation of this research is its narrow scope of study in which only the raw material inventory system for a single company is covered. In the future, however, ERP system would be adopted by many corporations, which would help us to launch a comparative study on the results of ERP system implementation as a future direction of research.

Case-based Reasoning (CBR) is widely used in business and industry prediction. It is suitable to solve complex and unstructured business problems. Recently, the prediction accuracy of CBR has been enhanced by not only various machine learning algorithms such as genetic algorithms, relative weighting of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) input variable but also data mining technique such as feature selection, feature weighting, feature transformation, and instance selection As a result, CBR is even more widely used today in business area. In this study, we investigated the usefulness of the CBR method in forecasting success in implementing ERP systems. We used a CBR method based on the feature weighting technique to compare the performance of three different models : MDA (Multiple Discriminant Analysis), GECBR (GEneral CBR), FWCBR (CBR with Feature Weighting supported by Analytic Hierarchy Process). The study suggests that the FWCBR approach is a promising method for forecasting of successful ERP implementation in Small and Medium sized Enterprises.

본 논문에서는 소규모 구두공장에서의 ERP 시스템(Gakcibang Management System)을 적용, 구두 공장의 재고를 컴퓨터를 이용하여 효율적인 구두 재산을 관리 하고, 업무 능률을 더욱 향상 시킬 수 있는 시스템이다. 사용 연령대는 3~40대를 대상으로 어렵지 않고 간단한 클릭 몇 번만으로 구두 재고 데이터를 반영할 수 있는 인터페이스환경을 제공하며, Java 으로 설계 되어 운영체제와 관계없이 사용할 수 있도록 구축되었다.

Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems offer pervasive business functionality the applications encompass virtually all aspects of the business. Understanding and managing this pervasiveness will result in a successful and productive business application platform. Because of this pervasiveness, implementations have ranged from great successes to complete failures. This article has two distinctive parts. The first proposes and discusses a systematic process based on consulting experiences of LG CNS (leading information system company in Korea) for ERP selection. Also, the second provides the key factors that are critical to the successful implementation of ERP. The second part reports the results of a study carried out to assess a number of different ERP implementations in different organizations. A case study method of investigation was used, and the experiences of five Korean manufacturing companies were documented. The critical factors in the adoption of ERP are identified as: learning from the experiences of others, appointment of a process innovator, establishment of committees and project teams, training and technical support for the users, and appropriate changes to the organizational structure and managerial responsibilities.

Typical misconceptions on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) among practitioners and researchers are reviewed. Companies can make, buy, or rent ERP solutions, but typically, ERP is conceived as ready-made, off the shelf application software package. The benefits of ERP adoption are frequently generalized without proper clarification of the requisite conditions. The specific outcomes of ERP adoption are not adequately differentiated from those of general computerization. To avoid the side-effects caused by those misconceptions, we 1) clarify the concept of ERP and the methods of sourcing it, 2) specify the requisite conditions for the benefits from packaged ERP solutions, and 3) explain the generic characteristics of ERP, direct effects and resultant possible outcomes of the adoption of ERP.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is widely adopted among enterprises and organizations. In recent years, researchers have become increasingly interested in factors related to ERP implementation success. In this paper, top management members, IT professionals, and end-users were interviewed in the study. The study used Hofstede's main cultural dimensions as a theoretical framework to identify cultural characteristics and their influence on ERP implementation within public organizations in Saudi Arabia. The study followed a qualitative methodology approach to carry on the study to investigate the national culture characteristics in Saudi Arabia that may influence ERP implementation success. The study found some culturally related factors that could influence success in ERP implantation projects in Saudi Arabia..
