  • For economic evaluation of integrated operation to sewage facilities, benefit-cost analysis was performed to watershed sewage works project in 7 watershed areas, 156 facilities. In this study, the cost before and after integrated operation was compared and benefits are calculated from the reduction of operators, increasement treated pollution loads, reduction cost through operation convenience, reduction water consumption through effluent reuse, and improvement of life benefit. The result showed that cost was 8,500million won and benefit was 16,747million won, so benefit was 49% higher than cost. B/C analysis result showed that B/C ratio was 1.97 and it is similar to other researches. The benefits of integrated operation included convenience of data management, increase of emergency response, decrease of complains with sewage which was not reflected numerically, so the benefits of integrated operation were expected much greater than this result

  • This study examines the background and necessity of the product certification (KS) and the system authentication (ISO 9000), and their characteristic so as to compare and analyze the possibility of interaction of product certification and system authentication. It tries to suggest an efficient operation system as an integrated management system and analyzes the certification case of K, a manufacturer of kitchen utensils. We believe that the study will help companies minimize their expenses and efforts to establish, operate, and maintain the corporate standard system. In addition, to effectively achieve our goal, we have also made a study of both literature and case and suggested technical guidance to get integrated management system certification. By these methods, we analyzed the effects and problems that come with the introduction and application of the integrated system of product certification and system authentication in order to set up a system to fit to the mechanism of Korean companies. Moreover, we have suggested the model of integrated operation and the benefits that come after acquiring certification.

  • The Public Private Partnership/Private Finance Initiative (PPP/PFI) schemes have made the private sector become a major participant involved in the development of infrastructure systems along with the government. Due to more integrated efforts among project participants and longer concession period, PPP/PFI projects are inherently more complex and risky. It is therefore very important to proactively manage the risks involved throughout the project life cycle. Conventional risk management strategies sometimes ignore managerial flexibility in the planning and execution process. This paper starts with a revised risk management framework which incorporates the real option concept. Following the presentation of the framework, a new risk classification is proposed which leads to different ways of structuring options in a project according to the stage of the project life cycle. Finally, the paper closes by discussing other issues concerning option modeling and negotiation.

  • Purpose: This paper studied about the integration for management system of representative international standard related to sustainable development. The well-known International standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001) can be operated in accordance with the organizational situation individually, or in a variety of ways of integration. It can be applied to help organizations utilizing the newly established "ISO IEC Directive Part1 Annex SL", when integrating quality, environmental and safety & health management systems based on international standards. Methods: We conducted an empirical survey of management executives and experts to study how three factors (management systems, organizational capabilities and integration methods) could affect business performance. Results: The questionnaire was analyzed using AMOS structural equation model. Quality, environmental and safety and health management systems affected management performance, and integration methods of management system affected business efficiency, risk performance and financial performance. Integration method is also important because organizational competence affects various aspects of integrated management. However, factors that affect integration should also be considered in terms of organizational capabilities. This is because organizational capacity influences the integration plan. Conclusion: To integrate the document system at the strategic level, management should actively participate in integrated operations to integrate organizations, eliminate duplicate tasks, and foster document integration experts to reflect the characteristics of individual standard. In the case of document integration, quality management is focusing, but once ISO 45001 is issued, the use of Annex SL is increasing, and Quality, environment and safety & health integration will also be expanded. It is possible to increase the effect of integration by strategically approaching and establishing organization document system rather than simple integration according to management system standard arrangement.
