  • An actinorhodin nonproducing Streptomyces lividans was converted to an actinorhodin overproducer through a single chromosomal integration of an antibiotic regulatory gene, afsR2. This strain exhibited early actinorhodin production and an average of 37.5% higher productivity than the S. lividans containing multiple copies of afsR2 plasmid in a glucose-containing liquid culture.

  • 본 연구는 연속음성을 인식하기 위하여 특징 Parameter의 변동성을 Fuzzy 변수로 취하여 Membership 함수로 표현한 후, Fuzzy 추론으로 연속음성을 인식하는 연구이다. 특징 Parameter로는 Formant 주파수, Pitch, Log Energy, Zero Crossing Rate등을 사용한다. 연속음성의 Data로서는 한국어의 연속음성을 대상으로 하여 음성인식 system을 구현한다음, 인식실험을 통하여 본 연구의 유교성을 확인한다.

공학소양교육 사례로서의 DNA 구조 발견 (Discovery of the DNA double helix structure as a model of Liberal Education for Engineers)

  • This study is an analysis of the process of the discovery of the DNA double helix structure from an engineering literacy education perspective. The explanation of the DNA double helix structure by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1952 is a well-known scientific episode. The process is also a combination of various incidents that can frequently happen in competitive engineering research and development situations. Therefore, the process of the discovery of the DNA structure is a remarkable event that can cover all subjects, such as engineering and ethics, research ethics, communication between researchers, engineering and leadership, engineering and teamwork, and engineering and women. This paper focuses on analyzing the research ethics issues associated with Rosalind Franklin and comparing and analyzing the three teams that were very close to the discovery of the DNA structure. By looking at why the Watson and Crick team got the final answer instead of the Linus Pauling's team or the Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin's team, the virtues of the technology development process that should be taught in engineering literacy education will be naturally presented.

  • In this paper, we developed a medical computer application for both disable children and adults in order to provide the chance to communicate easily with others. Although there are many mobile healthcare apps available nowadays, we believe that users should also have many options for choosing different types of healthcare programs developed for computers. That's why we have developed ConWis. This application helps a person with hearing loss, voice, speech, or language disorder to communicate easily with others. Through this software, hearing and understanding what is being said more clearly or to express thoughts become easier. To use this software, patient should input a sentence and it will be converted to audio speech using built-in voices for man or woman. In addition to that, it can convert voice that is received by microphone into text and display it on the screen.

Whole Cell Bioconversion of Ricinoleic Acid to 12-Ketooleic Acid by Recombinant Corynebacterium glutamicum-Based Biocatalyst

  • The biocatalytic efficiency of recombinant Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032 expressing the secondary alcohol dehydrogenase of Micrococcus luteus NCTC2665 was studied. Recombinant C. glutamicum converts ricinoleic acid to a product, identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry as 12-ketooleic acid (12-oxo-cis-9-octadecenoic acid). The effects of pH, reaction temperature, and non-ionic detergent on recombinant C. glutamiucm whole cell bioconversion were examined. The determined optimal conditions for production of 12-ketooleic acid are pH 8.0, 35℃, and 0.05 g/l Tween80. Under these conditions, recombinant C. glutamicum produces 3.3 mM 12-ketooleic acid, with a 72% (mol/mol) maximum conversion yield, and 1.1 g/l/h volumetric productivity in 2 h; and 3.9 mM 12-ketooleic acid, with a 74% (mol/mol) maximum conversion yield, and 0.69 g/l/h maximum volumetric productivity in 4 h of fermentation. This study constitutes the first report of significant production of 12-ketooleic acid using a recombinant Corynebacterium glutamicum-based biocatalyst.

  • 이미지 처리에 관한 인공지능 모델의 발전에 따라 개인정보 유출 문제가 가속화되고 있다. 인공지능은 다방면으로 삶에 편리함을 제공하지만, 딥러닝 기술은 적대적 예제에 취약성을 보이기 때문에, 개인은 보안에 취약한 대상이 된다. 본 연구는 ResNet18 신경망 모델에 얼굴이미지를 학습시킨 후, Shadow Attack을 사용하여 입력 이미지에 대한 AI 분류 정확도를 의도적으로 저하시켜, 허가받지 않은 이미지의 인식율을 낮출 수 있도록 구현하였으며 그 성능을 실험을 통해 입증하였다.
