Development of Hovering AUV Test-bed for Underwater Explorations and Operations

  • This paper describes the design and control of a hovering AUV test-bed and analyzes the dynamic performance of the vehicle using simulation programs. The main purpose of this vehicle is to carry out fundamental tests of its station keeping, attitude control, and desired position tracking. Its configuration is similar to the general appearance of an ROV for underwater operations, and its dimensions are $0.75m{\times}0.5m{\times}0.5m$. It has four 450-W thrusters for longitudinal/lateral/vertical propulsion and is equipped with a pressure sensor for measuring the water depth and a magnetic compass for measuring its heading angle. The navigation of the vehicle is controlled by an onboard Pentium III-class computer, which runs with the help of the Windows XP operating system. This provides an appropriate environment for developing the various algorithms needed for developing and advancing a hovering AUV.

  • 본 논문에서는 위성항법시스템의 백업 PNT 시스템으로 각광받고 있는 eLoran 시스템의 기술개발 현황과 그 성능 커버리지 예측 분석에 대해 중점적으로 다룬다. eLoran 서비스 시범운영을 위한 테스트베드 구축현황과 eLoran 송신국 시스템, 보정기준국 시스템, 통합운영 제어시스템, 그리고 사용자를 위한 eLoran/GNSS 통합수신기의 개발현황에 대해 설명한다. eLoran 테스트베드 구축을 통한 시범운영을 위해서, 시험송신국 구축을 위한 계획 및 지상파 기반의 백업 PNT 서비스를 향한 향후 계획에 대해 논의한다.

  • As the number of deeply-underground subway station(DUSS) increases, the safety measures for DUSS have been requested. In this research, Shingumho station (The line # 5, Depth: 46m) has been selected as case-study for the analysis of smoke-spread speed with the different fire strength. Field test data measured for actual fan in DUSS was applied as a condition of a simulation. The whole station was covered in this analysis and total of 4 million grids were generated for this simulation. The fire driven flow was analyzed case by case to compare the smoke-spread effect according to the fire strength. in order to enhance the efficiency of calculation, parallel processing by MPI was employed and large eddy simulation method in FDS code was adopted.

Vibration simulation of a multi-story high-speed railway station

  • Station is an important building in high-speed railway, and its vibration and noise may significantly affect the comfort of waiting passengers. A coupling vibration model for train-structure system is established to analyze and evaluate the vibration level of a typical waiting hall under dynamic train load. The motion of a four-axle vehicle with two suspension system is modeled in multi-body dynamics with linear springs and dampers employed. The station is modeled as a whole finite element structure which is 113 m in longitudinal and 163.5 m in lateral, and the stiffness of the station foundation is considered. According to the assumptions that both wheel and rail are rigid bodies and keep contact to each other in vertical direction, and the wheel/rail interaction and displacement coordination in horizontal direction is defined by the simplified Kalker creep theory, the vehicle spatial vibration model has 27 degrees-of-freedom. An overall analysis procedure is made of the train moving through the station, by which the dynamic responses of the train and the station are calculated. According to the comparison between analysis and test results, the actual connection status between different parts of the station is estimated and the vibration level of the waiting hall is evaluated.

네트워크 기반 AIS 기준국 시스템 설계 (Design of Network-based AIS Reference Station System)

  • 본 논문에서는 국제해사기구(IMO), 국제항로표지협회(IALA) 등 국제기구의 DGNSS 서비스 요구성능 증가에 기술적으로 대처하고, 해상교통안전 증대를 위하여 선박자동식별시스템(AIS)의 기지국 시스템에서 DGPS 기준국 기능을 수행할 수 있는 효과적인 방안을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방식은 DGPS 기준국에서 제공하는 보정 정보를 네트워크를 통하여 AIS 기지국에서 수신하고, 수신된 보정정보를 단순히 해상 선박의 AIS 단말기에 중계하는 방법이 아니라 AIS 기지국에서 커버리지 내의 선박에 최적화된 보정정보를 생성하여 전송하는 방법이다. 이를 구현하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 먼저 DGPS 기준국과 네트워크를 통해 연결되는 AIS 기준국을 설계하고, AIS 기준국에서 보정정보를 생성하기 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 그리고 DGPS 기준국 보정정보의 실측 데이터를 기반으로 제안한 알고리즘의 성능평가를 수행하고 그 결과를 제시한다. 마지막으로 제안한 시스템의 효율적 적용 방안에 대해 논의한다.

개질형 On-Site 수소충전소의 리스크 감소를 위해 요구되는 SIL 등급 달성 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Achievement of Required Safety Integrity Level to Reduce Risk for SMR On-Site Hydrogen Refueling Stations)

  • In recent years, hydrogen has received much attention as an alternative energy source to fossil fuels. In order to ensure safety from the increasing number of hydrogen refueling stations, prevention methods have been required. In this regard, this study suggested an approach to reduce the risk of hydrogen refueling station by increasing Safety Integrity Level (SIL) for a Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) in On-Site Hydrogen Refueling Station. The worst scenario in the SMR was selected by HAZOP and the required SIL for the worst scenario was identified by LOPA. To verify the required SIL, the PFDavg.(1/RRF) of Safety Instrumented System (SIS) in SMR was calculated by using realistic failure rate data of SIS. Next, several conditions were tested by varying the sensor redundancy and proof test interval reduction and their effects on risk reduction factor were investigated. Consequently, an improved condition, which were the redundancy of two-out-of-three and the proof test interval of twelve months, achieved the tolerable risk resulting in the magnitude of risk reduction factor ten times greater than that of the baseline condition.

부 반송파를 사용하는 이동형 다목적실용위성 관제국에 대한 하향 링크 채널 설계 (Design of Downlink Channel for Transportable KOMPSAT Ground Station Using Sub-Carrier Signal)

  • 본 논문은 부 반송파를 사용하는 이동 가능한 다목적실용위성 소형 관제국의 하향 링크 채널 설계 내용을 기술한다. 먼저 전송 신호 방식을 해석한 후 이 해석 결과를 단계별로 적용하는 방법으로 하향 링크 채널을 설계하였다. 하향 링크 전송 신호인 실시간(real-time) 2 kbps 위성 상태 측정 데이터의 수신 임계 신호 대 잡음비와 위성 거리 측정 요구 성능을 만족하는 신호 대 잡음비 해석 결과를 적용하여 6.5 dB/K의 G/T를 갖는 소형 관제국의 하향 링크 채널을 설계하였다. 설계에 따라 구현된 소형 관제국의 G/T는 태양을 이용한 측정 결과, 6.62 dB/K가 됨을 확인하였다. 또한, 위성과의 연동 시험을 통해, 부 반송파를 사용하는 위성 상태 데이터 요구 수신성능을 만족하여 다목적실용위성 관제국의 하향 링크 채널로 적합하게 평가되었다.

  • 3성분 단일 지진 관측의 방위각 결정에서 때때로 결과는 파형에 의존하고, 자동 관측은 불편하게 만든다. 본 연구에서는 시간-방향 스태킹 기술에 의해서 방위각이 아주 긴 파열(wave train) 관측으로부터 더 정확한게 결정되는 대안을 제안한다. 한반도 지진관측으로 취득한 디지털 파형을 가지고 시험한 결과 단순한 알고리즘은 광역거리에서 지진 진원의 방위각을 더 정확하게 결정하여 주는 것을 보여준다.

  • An underwater robotic system has been developed and applied to visual inspection of reactor vessel internals. The Korea Electric Power Robot for Visual Test (KeproVt) consists of an underwater robot, a vision processor-based measuring unit, a master control station and a servo control station. The robot guided by the control station with the measuring unit can be controlled to have any motion at any position in the reactor vessel with $\pm$1 cm positioning and $\pm$2 degrees heading accuracies with enough precision to inspect reactor internals. A simple and fast installation process is emphasized in the developed system. The developed robotic system was successfully deployed at the Younggwang Nuclear Unit 1 for the visual inspection of reactor internals.

SAT#1 (Preliminary Integration) Test Results of KASS System

  • According to the Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) system milestone, Site Acceptance Test (SAT) has three steps test until the end of the project. SAT#1 is the first time of SAT steps and verify the KASS Reference Station (KRS) and Sub System (S/S) for the monitoring and controllable. After the equipment and software were installed at the Mission Control Center (MCC) with Central Monitoring and Control Simulator (CMS) for the SAT#1, the 1:1 test was progressed when the KRS and S/S are ready to test. SAT#1 has a 10 steps test case and it was progressed each KRS sites. The test was finished throughout the real-time monitoring and the data collection including the data analysis all of the 7 KRS sites. Finally SAT#1 was completed on December 2020 with successfully.
