대형 저속 디젤기관의 속도제어를 위한 로바스트 서보 제어기 설계 (Design of Robust Servo Controller for Large Size Low Speed Diesel Engines)

  • The energy saving is one of the most important factors for profit in marine transportation. In order to reduce the fuel oil consumtion the ship's propulsion efficiency must be increased as possible. The propulsion efficiency depends upon a combination of an engine and a propeller. The propeller has better efficiency as lower rotational speed. This situation led the engine manufacturers to design the engine that has low speed, long stroke and a small number of cylinders. Consequently, the variation of rotational torque became larger than before because of the longer delay-time in fuel oil injection process and an increased output per cylinder. As this new trends the conventional mechanical-hydrualic governors for engine speed control have been replaced by digital speed controllers which adopted the PID control or the optimal control algorithm. But these control algorithms have not enough robustness to suppress the variation of the delay-time and the parameter perturbation. In this paper we consider the delay-time and the perturbation of engine parameters as the modeling uncetainties. Next we design the robust servo controller which has zero offset in steady state engine speed, based on H sub($\infty$) control theory. The validity of the controller was investigated through the response simulation. We used a personal computer and an analog computer as the digital controller and the engine (plant) part respectively. And, we could certify that the designed controller maintains its robust servo performance even though the engine parameters may vary.

커먼레일 디젤엔진의 인젝터 클리닝이 배기가스에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study of the effects of injector cleaning on the exhaust gases in a common rail diesel engine)

  • 디젤엔진의 사용은 루돌프 디젤에 의하여 발명된 이후 산업의 발달을 이끌어가는 중추적인 역할을 하고 있다. 2013년 기준으로 국내의 디젤엔진의 차량은 7,395,739대이다. 디젤엔진에서의 인젝터는 엔진의 구동에 직접적인 역활을 수행하기 때문에 성능향상에 대한 연구는 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 운행 중인 디젤차량의 매연의 농도와 인젝터 클리닝 전 후의 관계를 비교분석하기 위하여 인젝터 클리닝 전 후의 매연의 농도를 KD147 모드("운행차 수시점검 및 정기검사의 배출허용기준")로 측정하여 인젝터 클리닝이 매연 저감에 미치는 영향에 대하여 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 실험결과 인젝터 클리닝 후의 매연의 농도가 20% 이상 감소하는 것을 확인하였으며 매연의 농도의 감소율은 매연의 발생량이 클수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 이상과 같이 엑튜에이터의 동특성 해석을 행하고 PID 제어기 및 최적 제어기를 설계하여 응답시뮬레이션을 한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) 엑튜에이터 부의 시정수는 엔진 부의 시정수에 비해 아주 작아 생략하여 제어계를 구성할 수 있다. 2) 한계 감도법에 의해 PID 제어기를 시뮬레이션 한 결과 PID 제어 가버너는 전반적으로 오버슈트가 크고 중속 및 고속 상태에서는 정정시간이 비교적 짧지만 저속에서는 정상 상태에 도달하는데 상당한 시간이 걸린다. 3) 중량 matrix를 적당히 선택하여 최적 피이드 백 게인을 구한 후 마이크로 프로세서에 저장하여 제어기를 구성하면 PID 제어기 보다 양호한 응답 특성을 갖는 제어기를 설계 할 수 있다.

발전용 대형엔진용 천연가스 분사밸브 동특성 연구 (I) (Dynamic Performance of Natural Gas Injection Valve for Heavy-Duty Power Generation Engine - Part I)

  • 천연가스 연료는 매장량과 경제성 측면에서 미래 가치가 매우 높기 때문에 여러 가지 이용 기술 개발이 활발하게 이루어지고 있으며 내연기관을 이용한 발전 분야에서도 그 중요성이 점점 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 천연가스 연료를 이용하는 MW급 발전용 대형 왕복엔진의 경우 연료공급시스템의 고도화 개발이 필요한데 그 중에서도 천연가스 분사기의 개발은 실질적인 천연가스 연료 이용을 위한 핵심이다. 본 연구에서는 천연가스 분사기를 상부에 위치한 솔레노이드의 전자기력에 의해 구동되고 하부의 밸브 바디부 전기자와 이동판이 상하로 움직이는 구조의 분사밸브 형태로 고안 및 설계하였으며 이 시작품의 동특성을 엔진 흡기 모사 조건에서 실험하였다. 전기자의 변위와 지름을 변경해 가면서 실험을 수행하였는데, 그 결과 유량의 선형성이 잘 보장되고 1bar 의 차압에서 2ms 이내의 응답성으로 분사밸브가 열리는 결과를 얻었다. 가스 유량 또한 100Liter/min(@2Hz) 이상으로 충분하기 때문에 본 연구에서 고안한 천연가스 분사밸브는 요구되는 동특성 성능실험을 만족하였기 때문에 MW급 발전용 천연가스 엔진 연료공급시스템에 적합할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The determination of firing order is very significant procedure in initial stage of design for medium speed diesel engine. Generally, the selection of firing order has been accomplished in view of minimum excitation forces condition. In this paper all possible firing orders under the given number of cylinder were considered to decide the optimum. Meanwhile torsional vibration characteristics using the phase vector sum method and minimum excitation force concept were applied. From these results, some superior cases were selected. And then, the torsional vibration response analysis and the resonance characteristics of engine structure were investigated for the final decision.

Development of Hybrid Electric Compressor Motor Drive System for Hybrid Electrical Vehicles

  • This paper presents a design optimization process for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSM) for hybrid electric compressors (HEC) which are applied to hybrid electrical vehicles. A hybrid electric compressor is composed of an electric motor driving section and an engine driving section which is connected to the engine by a pulley belt. A hybrid electric compressor driving motor requires half of the full driving power of a compressor. Even though an engine is not operated at the idling stop mode, the electric motor drives the air-conditioner compressor by itself so that the air conditioning system can produce its minimum cooling capacity. In this paper, the design optimization of an IPMSM for a 42 (V) applied voltage system is studied using the design of experiment (DOE) and response surface method (RSM) of 6sigma. The driving characteristics of this motor drive system are measured and analyzed by experiment.

디젤기관에서 산화촉매장치에 의한 배기가스 저감에 관한 이론적 연구 (A Theoretical Study on Exhaust Gas Reduction by Oxidation Catalyst in Diesel Engine)

  • Among aftertreatment devices which reduce exhaust gas of diesel engine, diesel oxidation catalyst(DOC) with high reduction efficiency for gaseous matter and particulate matter is now studied actively. In this study, a transient one-dimensional model developed to simulate the thermal and conversion characteristics of adiabatic monolithic converters operating under warm up conditions is presented. This model takes into account the gas solid heat and mass transfer, axial heat conduction, chemical reactions and the related heat release. The model has been used to analyze the transient response of an axisymmetric catalytic converter during a warm-up as a function of catalyst design parameters and operation conditions in order to observe their effects on the lightoff behaviour. The experimental test was carried out 2400 cc light diesel engine with DOC.

가솔린엔진용 E-EGR 밸브 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of the Electronic EGR Valve for Gasoline Engine)

  • Since the 1960's, exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) has been used effectively in spark ignition(SI) engines to control the exhaust emissions of the oxides of nitrogen(NOx). The most important requirements for the application of EGR systems to conventional SI engines are controllable flow rate and good dynamic response. In order to evaluate the characteristics of the electronic EGR valve, a test bench which is consisted of blower, heater, air flow meter and driving unit for electronic EGR valve was set up to simulate engine operating conditions. During the tests, the valve actuation parameters were controlled and the valve lifts and flow rates were measured to infer the characteristics of EGR valve. The results confirmed the capabilities of mathematical analysis and it seems that the correction for the valve lift and potentiometer output is necessary to achieve precise control of EGR rates.

이상단열 모델에 의한 자유피스톤 스털링엔진의 동적거동 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of Free-Piston Stirling Engine Using Ideal Adiabatic Model)

  • A new set of governing equations is derived for the dynamic analysis of the Free-Piston Stirling Engines(EPSE). Equations from the ideal adiabatic model for the thermodynamic analysis of the working fluid are incoporated with the equations of motion for the moving masses of the system, resulting in a set of nonlinear differential equations. The coupled set of equations are numerically integrated with proper intial conditions to obtain a steady state response of the engine. The proposed method is compared with the conventional method of analyzing EPSE based mainly on the ideal isothermal model. The results clearly shows the limitationsl of the conventional methods and the relative advantages of the method proposed in the present study.

  • According to the recent increase of demands for multi-function and economics on hydraulic excavator, it is required that excavator should have simple operation, higher and operational efficiency, however the modeling of engine/pump system of excavator is not prescribed by the paper. So, in this paper the modeling of engine/pump system of excavator is suggested by identification method from step response and verified effectiveness of identification system by comparing with experimental results which was conducted using PID controller. To improve the problem of parameter variation and modeling error in the system, sliding mode control was introduced and new switching surface was designed. This control algorithm was applied to a hydraulic excavator by simulation, and its effectiveness was verified, and the results of variable structure system for the excavator system using a output component was compared with that of full state feedback when load disturbances and system paramenter variation exist.
