기울어진 덕트 내 헬리컬 코일의 자연대류 열전달 (Natural Convection Heat Transfer of an Inclined Helical Coil in a Duct)

  • 헬리컬 코일이 덕트 내부에 있을 때, 기울기에 따른 자연대류 열전달을 실험적으로 측정하였다. 고부력 조건을 구현하기 위하여 유사성에 기초하여 열전달 실험을 대신하여 물질전달 실험을 수행하였다. RaD 수 $4.55{\times}10^6$에서, 턴(Turn) 수를 1~10, P/D를 1.3~5, 헬리컬 코일의 기울기를 $0^{\circ}{\sim}90^{\circ}$까지 변화시켰다. 헬리컬 코일의 턴 수가 1일 때, 측정된 $Nu_D$ 수는 McAdams의 수평관 자연대류 열전달 상관식과 거의 일치하였다. 기울어진 덕트 내 헬리컬 코일의 자연대류 열전달은 피치, 턴 수, 덕트 높이에 따라 복합적으로 변화하였고 이는 속도 효과, 굴뚝 효과, 예열 효과로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 Compact heat exchanger에서의 자연대류 열전달에 대한 현상학적 분석에 기여한다.

  • The energy transfer from photoexcited polyvinylcarbazole (PVK) chromophores with a bandgap of 3.7 eV as a donor to fluorophores of poly(dihexylfluorenevinylene) (PDHFV) or poly(dihexylfluorenedihexoxyphenylenevinylene) (PDHFHPV) as an acceptor in bilayered specimens should be carried out since the spectral overlap pairs fulfills the requirement for the $F{\"{o}}rster-type$ condition. However, the energy transfer rate from the chromophores with a wider bandgap to the fluorophores with a narrower bandgap is proved to be strongly dependent on the lifetime ratio between the excitons.

하수처리장에서의 암모니아 플럭스 산정을 위한 물질전달모형 개발 (Development of Mass Transfer Models for Ammonia Flux Estimation from Sewage Treatment Plants)

  • Sewage treatment plants located near to large cities emit extremely higher concentration of odorous materials. This study evaluated flux profiles of ammonia emitted from the water surface of sewage treatment plants using a dynamic flux chamber. Also, an ammonia overall mass transfer coefficient and a mass transfer model was developed in order to estimate fluxes of ammonia using environment parameters and the flux from the sewage treatment plants. The developed mass transfer model was evaluated through a fitness analysis. Comparison modeled flux applying empirical overall mass transfer coefficients of ammonia and measured ammonia flux show a high linearity with 0.977. The flux ratio of 1.282 demonstrated highly statistical fitness, also. Modeled flux using the mass transfer model was compared with measured flux. In result, it indicated that empirical overall mass transfer coefficients were similar to measured flux. The mass transfer model using the empirical overall mass transfer coefficient developed in this study was proved to be an easy and effective method to make accurate and precise predictions for ammonia flux discharged from sewage treatment plants.

  • A numerical analysis was conducted to predict the heat transfer characteristics of a solar receiver which is subject to very high heat fluxes and temperatures for solar thermal applications. The concentration ratio of the solar receiver ranges 1000 and the concentrated heat is required to be transported to a certain distance for specific applications. This study deals with a solar receiver according to internal geometry variation incorporating high-temperature heat pipe. The isothermal characteristics in the receiver section is of major concern. The diameter of the solar thermal receiver was 120 mm and the length was 400 mm and the angle of receiver end wall set $90^{\circ},\;60^{\circ},\;45^{\circ},\;30^{\circ}$. And the diameter of the heat pipe was 12.7 mm, 48 axial channels of the same dimensions were attached to the outer wall of the receiver with even spacing in the circumferential direction. The channels are changed to high-temperature sodium heat pipes. Commercial softwares were employed to deal with the radiative heat transfer inside the receiver cavity and the convection heat transfer along the channels. The numerical results are compared and analyzed from the view point of high-temperature solar receiver.

V 형 rib과 dimple로 구성된 SAH 덕트에서의 총괄 열성능에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical study on overall thermal performance in SAH duct with compound roughness of V-shaped ribs and dimples)

  • This paper presents the thermal hydraulic performance of a three dimensional rib-roughened solar air heater (SAH) duct with the one principal wall subjected to uniform heat flux. The SAH duct has aspect ratio of 12.0 and the Reynolds number ranges from 2000 to 12000. The roughness has relative rib height of 0.045, ratio of dimple depth to print diameter of 0.5 and rib pitch ratio of 8.0. The flow attack angle is varied from $35^{\circ}$ to $70^{\circ}$. Various turbulent flow models are used for the heat transfer and fluid flow analysis and their results are compared with the experimental results for smooth surfaces. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results based on the renormalization k-epsilon model are in better outcomes compared with the experimental data. This model is used to calculate heat transfer and fluid flow in SAH duct with the compound roughness of V-shaped ribs and dimples. The overall thermal performance based on equal pumping power is found to be the highest (2.18) for flow attack angle of $55^{\circ}$. The thermo-hydraulic performance for V-pattern shaped ribs combined with dimple ribs is higher than that for dimple rib shape and V-pattern rib shape air duct.

AC Impedance Study of Hydrogen Oxidation and Reduction at Pd/Nafion Interface

  • Electrocatalytic activity of palladium for hydrogen oxidation and reduction was studied using AC impedance method. The system under study was arranged in electrolytic mode consisting of Pd electrode under study, Pt counter electrode and Nafion electrolyte between them. Two types of Pd electrodes were used - carbon-supported Pd (Pd/C) and Pd foil electrode. Pd/C anode contacting pure hydrogen showed a steady decrease of charge transfer resistance with the increase of anodic overpotential, which is an opposite trend to that found with Pd foil anode. But Pd foil cathode also exhibited a decrease of the resistance with the increase of cathodic overpotential. The relationship between imposition of overpotential and subsequent change of the charge transfer resistance is determined by the ratio of the rate of faradaic process to the rate of mass transportation; if mass transfer limitation holds, increase of overpotential accompanies the increase of charge transfer resistance. Regardless of the physical type of Pd electrode, the anode contacting hydrogen/oxygen gas mixture did not reveal any independent arc originated from local anodic oxygen reduction.

  • The basic equations of a doubly-fed long-stator linear motor for a shuttle-based railway system are established. They show which degrees of freedom exist for controlling the motor. The ratio of stator and rotor current proves to be an important parameter in determining the design of motors, converters and mechanics.

  • Purpose Five animals sounds which are come under five sounds(Gong, Sang, jiao, zhi, yu) which are compared with the musical scale. It is looking for similarity between five animals' sounds and the musical scale. Methods 녹음 record 1 ig machine 1. Five animals (cattle, horse, pheasant, pig, sheep) sounds has been recording on tape. 2. That was transfer to CSL(computerized speech lab) 3. That was analysed to pitch, formant 1,2,3. energy pitch 4. That analysed result (Pitch, formant 1,2,3. energy ratio) of five animals are calculated and compared with the five musical scale(five sounds) Result The ratio of five animals sounds is not consistent with the musical scale in any five item (pitch, formant 1,2,3. energy). Conclusion 1.The five musical scale has no similarity with the five animals sounds 2.The five sound is supposed to oriented form theoretical back ground of five-going not have no relative with the five animals sounds

나노유체 자연대류의 과도 특성 (Transient features of natural convection in nanofluid)

  • 본 논문에서는 알루미나-물 나노유체를 사용하여 자연대류 실험을 수행하였다. 시험공간은 실린더이며 유체층 두께를 조절하여 종횡비는 10.9부터 30.4까지 변화를 주었다. 열전달계수는 순 물의 자연대류 실험과 비슷하게 30분 이내에 정상상태에 거의 도달한 것같이 보이나 경사도가 $0^{\circ}$인 경우 열전달계수가 $1{\sim}2$시간이상 감소하며 일부 종횡비에서는 열전달계수의 변동현상이 10시간이상 측정되었다. 변동형태와 주기는 종횡비와 각도에 따라 다르며 $0^{\circ}$의 경사도에서는 열전달계수의 변동주기가 $60^{\circ}$의 경사도에 비하여 2배 이상 이였다. Rayleigh 수가 $1.0{\times}10^5$ 보다 작은 경우, 평균 Nusselt 수는 $30^{\circ}$의 경사도에서 가장 높게 나타나며 $60^{\circ}$의 경사도에서 가장 낮게 나타났다. 그러나 본 실험결과도 응집된 상태의 나노유체가 사용되었으므로 일반성을 가지고 있지는 않는다.

Investigation of the Thermal Performance of a Vertical Two-Phase Closed Thermosyphon as a Passive Cooling System for a Nuclear Reactor Spent Fuel Storage Pool

  • The decay heat that is produced by nuclear reactor spent fuel must be cooled in a spent fuel storage pool. A wickless heat pipe or a vertical two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT) is used to remove this decay heat. The objective of this research is to investigate the thermal performance of a prototype model for a large-scale vertical TPCT as a passive cooling system for a nuclear research reactor spent fuel storage pool. An experimental investigation and numerical simulation using RELAP5/MOD 3.2 were used to investigate the TPCT thermal performance. The effects of the initial pressure, filling ratio, and heat load were analyzed. Demineralized water was used as the TPCT working fluid. The cooled water was circulated in the water jacket as a cooling system. The experimental results show that the best thermal performance was obtained at a thermal resistance of $0.22^{\circ}C/W$, the lowest initial pressure, a filling ratio of 60%, and a high evaporator heat load. The simulation model that was experimentally validated showed a pattern and trend line similar to those of the experiment and can be used to predict the heat transfer phenomena of TPCT with varying inputs.
