This study analyzes the results of applying the ISO19030 (hull and propeller performance monitoring method) standard to an actual 178 k bulk vessel. Recently, there have been many attempts to apply various energy reduction solutions to vessels to continuously strengthen GHG reduction regulations and secure maritime competitiveness. However, it is not easy to quantitatively analyze the performance of a ship. To resolve these problems, shipping companies, marine paint companies, ship owners, and transportation associations have appointed specialists and standardized the ISO19030 (standard of hull and propeller performance monitoring method) guidelines in 2016 after three years of continuous review. The ISO19030 standard provides methods to monitor hull and propeller performance quantitatively through standardized procedures, thus allowing ship managers to arrive at informed decisions for hull and propeller maintenance, and to evaluate energy-saving solutions and ship-maintenance efficiency. The ISO19030 standard provides a method of analyzing the ship's own performance by collecting the ship's operation and agency data and correcting its environmental and operating factors. In this paper, we apply the ISO19030 standard to three actual ships and propose the ISO19030 application result and the improvement point of the current ISO19030 standard.
In this study, the real on-road driving data were analyzed to draw the various characteristics related to idling of vehicles. The results revealed that the average idling time of a city bus corresponds to 30.9% of the total daily driving time. Among this, for about 21.6% of the total daily driving time, it is available that an engine can be halted while the vehicle stops. It is a daytime when the portion of time, for which idling stop is available, is peak. Due to idling stop, an increase of turnaround was not found throughout this analysis. When a city bus stops at a traffic right, idling periods were long enough to execute the idling stop, during which an engine halts. Whereas, during the idling time for bus stops, the idling periods were not so long enough to execute idling stop. Deceleration periods among the total turnarounds of a city bus occupies about 24.7%, during which, for about 30%, a deceleration maintains for more than four seconds. Thus, using the energy during deceleration period, which then can be recovered from braking energy, it was also found that a hybrid system can be effectively implemented to a city bus.

This study was designed to investigate the effect of pulsed electric fields on the drying of ginseng and extraction of dried ginseng to reduce energy-consumption. Fresh ginseng was treated in a PEF system of 1 and 2 kV/cm electric field strength, 25 and 200 Hz of frequency, $30{\mu}s$ of pulse width and pulse number of 175. The samples were subsequently dried for 26 h at $55{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, and the characteristic of hot-water extraction on dried ginseng was investigated. The ginseng pretreated with an intensity of 2 kV/cm (200 Hz, n=175) resulted in a reduction of approximately 38% for drying time. The influence of PEF treatment on the water extraction of dried ginseng at $95{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ was also investigated. The application of an electric field intensity of 2 kV/cm (25 and 200 Hz, n=175) increased soluble solid content, significantly reducing sugar content and free sugar content of the extract compared to non-PEF-treated samples.

The market trends of automatic meter reading associated with smart water meters were investigated. Also, recent developments and field applications of key technology for automatic meter reading associated with smart water meters were analyzed. Smart water meters have been manufactured mostly in United States and Europe and have been expanded their business to Asia. Integrated water management system combining with the additional functions such as real-time consumption metering, cost notification, water conservation, leak detection, water quality monitoring, and flow control have been operated in automatic meter reading. Both water quality and quantity data measured from smart water meters and sensors were transferred to data concentration units through neighborhood area network, and then were transferred to integrated server through wide area network. The data transfer methods were determined by comprehensively considering urban scale, density of smart water meters, power supply and network topologies. Common data collection methods such as fixed network to data concentation units, vehicles drive by, people walk by, and drone fly by have been applied. The automatic meter reading associated with smart water meters are spread throughout the world, and both water and energy savings result in saving the money and reducing the greenhouse gases emission.
For the energy-saving production of fresh vegetables in poor environment such as the Antarctic, a container-type plant factory was designed and developed. To maximize space usage of the 20 feet container ($L5.9m{\times}W2.4m{\times}H2.4m$), a three-level hydroponic cultivation system was installed and the nutrient solution was supplied by bottom watering. Using this system, 3 lettuce cultivars were grown under different the light source (light intensity). After 2 weeks from the transplanting, fluorescent lamp ($145\;{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$) showed the best fresh weight of top part and leaf area. However, After 4 weeks, fluorescent lamp plus metal halide lamp ($150\;{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$) led to the optimum growth of the each lettuce cultivar. The cultivar, 'Cheongchima', showed the best fresh weight of top part and leaf area, followed by 'Jeokchukmyeon' and 'Lollo rosa'. The chlorophyll concentrations (SPAD) showed no significant difference among the sources of lights. However, 'Cheongchima' showed relatively high chlorophyll concentration. With the above results, we found that the growth of lettuce is depend on light intensity and even at same intensity, the growth is different among the cultivars. Therefore, the selection of optimum cultivar should be considered in the plant factory system that has only weak light density.
This study was conducted to investigate the situation of ICT apply to plastic greenhouse, and the results be apply to design of new one. A CFD analysis were conducted to monitering the ventilation and energy saving of the single span greenhouse newly designed. The causes of delay to apply ICT to plastic greenhouse are the high cost for installation(24%), insufficiency of after services(19%), often disorder(16%), unskillful management of soft ware(15%), insufficient ICT efficiency(13%) and unsatisfying of income increase(12%). The parts of problem occurred in ICT plastic greenhouse are the structure, actuator, environmental control system and sensor(approximate 14%, respectively), remote control technique(13%), plant management technique(12%), energy saving technique(10%) and utilization of software(8%). In the condition of lateral window closed, the average wind speed changed to slow, but it was faster in the condition of leeward side window opened than in the condition of lee and winward side window opened. The air movement in the condition of lateral window closed occur by air moving fan not by out air. It is not affect the room temperature but effective the uniformity of room temperature. The average temperature of low height greenhouse was uniform than high height one. The average temperature in condition of 3rd curtain opened become same with outside temperature after 2 hours, but take more 5 hours in condition of 3rd curtain closed.
In this study, experiments of local heating on crown and supplying warm nutrient for energy saving and improving growth of 'Seolhyang' strawberry were conducted. The temperature of inside and crown in greenhouses which were control (space heating 8℃) and test (space heating 5℃+crown heating) was measured. In the control greenhouse, the average of temperature and humidity in December was 7.1℃, 87.2%, respectively. In the test greenhouse, the average of temperature and humidity in December was 5.7℃, 88.7%. The temperature of crown and inside the bed were 7.9℃, 10.8℃ in control, 9.3℃, 12.7℃ in test. During the test period, the total 16,847×103 kcal of energy was consumed in control greenhouse including space heating. In test greenhouse including space heating, crown heating and warm water supplying, total 9,475.7×103 kcal of energy was consumed. So, energy consumption in test was 43.8% less than in the control. The total yields of strawberry during test period were 412.7g/plant for test greenhouse and 393.3g/plant for control greenhouse respectively.

In this study, an analysis has been conducted on the evaluation criteria of current G-SEED(Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design) and on the 78 buildings, certified by G-SEED, for 3 years from November, 2012 to November, 2015. Based on the results of this analysis, four issues are driven and proposed hereinafter. Issue 1 : Nowadays, the psychological proportion of landscape architecture in building is getting greater than ever so that it shows reliable reduction of carbon dioxide. Therefore, so far as the eight kinds of buildings are concerned, the evaluation items of G-SEED must include those of landscape architecture mandatorily through its enlargement. Issue 2 : It is undesirable factor that inhibits precise evaluation on landscaping area to let other areas appraise landscape architecture because it requires outstanding professionalism. So, G-SEED should not only ensure landscaping professionalism for the correct evaluation but also let landscape area participate in assessing other areas. Issue 3 : Many previous researches turned out that landscape planting technique has excellent effect on saving energy and reducing temperature of buildings. Thus, landscape planting technique of landscape area is required to be one of the evaluation items of energy sector. Issue 4 : Tree management also has to be newly included as one of the evaluation factor for the maintenance relating to the landscape architecture. G-SEED, enacted and enforced by the Green Building Creation Support Act in 2013, surely is effective system to reduce carbon dioxide in buildings. This is a special Act in its nature that is superior to Construction Law and must be observed by all means to construct buildings. Under the umbrella of this legal system, various of researches and products are contributing to creating new jobs in construction area. However, it is a well-known fact that landscape architecture area has shown less interest on this Act than that of construction area. In conclusion, it is necessary that landscape industry should conduct continuous researches on G-SEED and pay more attention to the Act enough to harvest related products and enlarge its work area.
Purpose : This study is to develop walls using wall recording technology applied on roofs to prevent fire spread in traditional markets. Method : The spray head installed on the developed wall was designed so that the fire does not spread to adjacent buildings after being used for plants. In addition, a spray head was attached to the upper section and some sections for the growth of plants planted on the wall to prevent the spread of fire. Results : These technologies suggested the development of walls that can be installed at the upper level of buildings, such as traditional markets, and separate isolation facilities were not necessary because they are integrated with structures and sprinklers. In addition, sprinklers can perform both the plant spray and fire spread prevention functions. It is believed that this is the only alternative technology proposed in Korea to prevent the spread of fire. Conclusion : In this study, the wall design, designed directly to derive the quantitative performance of the fire spread reduction effect, demonstrated the fire suppression method of the wall system, the durability of the wall itself, and the flame retardability performance.
