The study analyzed the heat losses and the building energy efficiency grade by the energy simulation using the ENERGY# and ECO2 programs for the three types of Standard design of rural houses. It was calculated the energy efficiency rating by the ECO2 program for the rural housing standard design, and the energy demand and the energy consumption by each factor were compared and analyzed. And it analyzed energy consumption by element of each house by ENERGY # program. As a result, first in the evaluation of the energy efficiency grade of buildings by the ECO2 program, the rating for primary energy requirement for the housing newly built by the standard design of rural house is expected to range from 2 to 4 with 189.3 to $238.7kWh/m^2.a$. Second, the energy loss of each part of standard design of rural housing occurs in the order of ventilation 39%, window 33%, outer wall 14%, roof 9%, bottom 5%, and energy loss through ventilation and window occurs more than 70%. Third, the most beneficial effects on the energy efficiency grade is obtained the lowest grade of all three types by 2 when the lowering of the window and door heat transmission rate and the lowering of the light density, and the heat exchange ventilation device is not installed. Fourth, in the standard design of rural housing, the energy demand is occupied by heating > hot water > lighting order, and the order of the weight is changed in order of heating > lighting > ventilation > hot water. Fifth, building energy efficiency assessment system needs to establish policy for fixing rural housing energy as a practical device to ensure energy performance and quality.
Since 1990, the Renewable Big Data Research Lab at the Korea Institute of Energy Technology has been observing solar radiation at 16 sites across South Korea. Serving as the National Reference Standard Data Center for Renewable Energy since 2012, it produces essential data for the sector. By 2020, it standardized meteorological year data from 22 sites. Despite user demand for data from approximately 260 sites, equivalent to South Korea's municipalities, this need exceeds the capability of measurement-based data. In response, our team developed a method to derive solar radiation data from satellite images, covering South Korea in 400,000 grids of 500 m × 500 m each. Utilizing satellite-derived data and ERA5-Land reanalysis data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), we produced standard meteorological year data for 1,000 sites. Our research also focused on data measurement traceability and uncertainty estimation, ensuring the reliability of our model data and the traceability of existing measurement-based data.

In this research, a new methodology to perform building energy analysis using Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard has been studied. With the help of Archicad 14 modeling software, a 3D test model is generated and then exported to IFCXML format. A ruby code program retrieves the building information from the resulting IFCXML file using Nokogiri library. An INP file is created and gets ready for next energy analysis step. DOE 2.2 program analyzes the INP file and gives a detailed report of the energy cost of the building. Case study shows when using the IFC standard method, the Interoperability of the energy analysis is greatly improved. The main stream 3D building modeling software supports IFC standard. DOE 2.2 is able to read the INP file generated by IFC file. This means almost any 3D model created by main stream modeling software can be analyze in terms of energy cost Thus, IFC based energy analysis method has a promising future. With the development and application of IFC standard, designers can do more complex and easy-to-run energy analysis in a more efficient way.
For accurate wind resource assessment and wind turbine performance test, it is essential to secure wind data covering a rotor plane of wind turbine including a hub height. In general, we can depict wind speed profile by extrapolating or interpolating the wind speed data measured from a meteorological tower where multiple anemometers are mounted at different heights using a power-law of wind speed profile. The most important parameter of a power-law equation is a vertical wind profile exponent which represents local characteristics of terrain and land cover. In this study, we calculated diurnal vertical wind profile exponents of 8 locations in Jeju Island who possesses excellent wind resource according to the GUM (Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement) to evaluate its uncertainty. Expanded uncertainty is calculated by combined standard uncertainty, which is the result of composing type A standard uncertainty with type B standard uncertainty. Although pooled standard deviation should be considered to derive type A uncertainty, we used the standard deviation of vertical wind profile exponent of each day avoiding the difficult of uncertainty evaluation of diurnal wind profile variation. It is anticipated that the evaluated uncertainties of diurnal vertical wind profile exponents at 8 locations in Jeju Island are to be registered as a national standard reference data and widely used in the relevant areas.
This study analyzed the standard school's energy usage and patterns as the zero-energy goal of primary school building, and proposed the energy reduction process of school building using energy analysis computing simulation tool. As a analysis simulation tool, Visual DOE 4.0 is used. For analysis of actual energy usage, selected primary school that is standard in the nation's energy consumption. Standard of the school's energy consumption analysis were devided into electric and gas energy. Input parameters of the simulation program based on the literature material and field survey material. after, but it was calibrated to comparison with the standard school's energy consumption. Finally, its energy usage analyzed by component and made the priority order of energy saving. Applied energy saving technologies are envelopment insulation, high efficiency lighting, high performance HAVC system and used active equipment system of solar collector and photovoltaic generation for additional savings.
The Consultation about Energy Use Plan is prescribed by the Energy Use Rationalization Act. This study calculated the Standard Data for Energy Use Plan of Industry Complex by the 9th Korean Standard Industrial Classification Divisions so that the energy demand reflecting the industrial technology change and characteristics of Manufacturing Divisions would predict. To achieve this aim, analysis on thousands of data in Energy Consumption Report Forms reported from industries which annual consumption of energy exceeds 2,000toe from 2009 to 2010 was carried out. The results showed that calculated overall mean fuel basic unit decrease, electricity basic unit increase and energy basic unit increase compared to that of the Notification No. 2002-130 of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, therefore it means that heat source of energy facilities transferred from fuel to electricity. Also resultingly suggests that the related notification, code etc. are amended as soon as possible.
The need for zero-energy building is increasing as a means of actively responding to climate change. Since pipe insulation is a factor that minimizes heat loss of cooling and heating facilities, it is necessary to check pipe insulation standards and prepare improvement plans of preparation for certification of zero energy buildings. In this study, domestic pipe insulation standards were checked to prepare new insulation standards based on energy performance. Through the development of a pipe insulation calculation program, the heat loss according to the insulation thickness of the piping for mechanical facilities was compared and reviewed. As a result, applying the insulation thickness of the KCS standard for the same conditions increased the heat loss by an average of 10% compared to the ASHRAE standard. For this reason, it is necessary to revise the pipe insulation thickness standard in consideration of heat loss due to thermal conductivity and pipe insulation thickness. Using the program in this paper, it is possible to design pipe insulation based on energy performance and help to determine the standard for pipe insulation thickness.
Five zero energy house models developed in Korea for the purpose of the energy performance were compared and analyzed in the study. The standard passive house model applying common technology and efficient energy performance elements was proposed. Standard passive house 5 models have been developed commonly aiming at 100% energy saving, applying high-performance and high-efficiency exterior thermal insulation, using 3 low-e coated window system, and targeting average 0.65 ACH to enhance privacy. Energy recovery ventilators and dry and cold radiant heating floor has been partially applied. Eco-design techniques such as the awning device, heat insulating door, using natural light have been used. Solar and geothermal systems as the application of renewable energy technologies have been commonly applied. And fuel cells were applied to a partial model. The standard model based on common technical elements and average performance of each element and obtained from five model analysis has been proposed in the study.
Currently, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia etc. are actively utilizing energy simulation for efficiency evaluation of building energy. However, domestic energy efficiency assessment system doesn't use energy simulation system properly at present: parameters based architecture plans and Ashrae Standard are inputted for the evaluation, because the input parameters for the simulation haven't been established yet. This fact causes poor reliability during energy simulation, as the values of the two standards are different from each other. Therefore, the aim of the study is to set domestic standard parameter for BIM-based energy performance evaluation, focusing on possession area per person of occupants at government office in Korea. We found that the difference among the result values occurred approximately 3% in the energy simulation. As a result of the analysis, possession area per person of occupants in Government office is $31.87m^2$. Other input parameters may be set based on this. This will increase the reliability of energy simulation through a domestic standard parameter.
