스마트 모니터링 시스템의 배치 방식 분석 (An Analysis on the Deployment Methods for Smart Monitoring Systems)

  • 모니터링 시스템은 특정 영역에서 발생하는 사건을 신속히 보고하여 적절한 대응을 할 수 있도록 해주는 시스템을 말한다. 로봇화된 산업 생산라인의 공정 모니터링에서부터 산불감지, 침입탐지, 스마트그리드, 환경오염 경보에 이르기 까지 다양한 산업군에서 널리 사용되고 있으며 무선통신의 발달과 저가의 센서를 활용가능하게 되면서 센서네트워크로 대표되는 지능형 또는 스마트 모니터링 시스템으로 발전하게 되었다. 모니터링 시스템의 목적이 다양하고 구축비용, 구성 방식, 구축 후 효과 등 많은 부분이 센서 또는 모니터링 디바이스가 설치된 장소에 영향을 받게 되지만 제한된 방식에 대해서만 배치 기법에 대해 관심을 받아 왔다. 모니터링 시스템의 종류에 따라 활용할 수 있는 다양한 방식의 배치 기법을 소개하고 배치 시의 성능을 객관적으로 비교할 수 있는 성능척도들 또한 소개하여 기존의 모니터링 시스템을 평가하고 개선할 수 있는 지점을 확인가능하게 하며 모니터링 시스템 설계 시에도 활용가능하다. 성능 척도는 배치과정에서의 효율성과 배치된 이후의 모니터링 시스템의 유용성을 평가할 수 있어야 한다. 배치과정에서의 효율성은 배치에 소요된 시간, 에너지 소모량, 비용, 안전성, 센서노드 손상율, 확장성(Scalability) 등이며 배치 이후의 모니터링 시스템의 유용성은 목표지역(ROI) 커버리지(Coverage), 연결성(Connectivity), 균일도(Uniformity), 목표 밀도(target density) 유사성, 단위기간 에너지 소모율 등이다.

  • Global effort has resulted in tremendous progress with energy harvesters that extract mechanical energy from ambient sources, convert it to electrical energy, and use it for systems such as wrist watches, mobile electronic devices, wireless sensor nodes, health monitoring, and biosensors. However, harvesting a single energy source only still pauses a great challenge in driving sustainable and maintenance-free monitoring and sensing devices. Over the last few years, research on high-performance mechanical energy harvesters at the micro and nanoscale has been directed toward the development of hybrid devices that either aim to harvest mechanical energy in addition to other types of energies simultaneously or to exploit multiple mechanisms to more effectively harvest mechanical energy. Herein, we appraise the rational designs for multiple energy harvesting, specifically state-of-the-art hybrid mechanical energy harvesters that employ multiple piezoelectric and triboelectric mechanisms to efficiently harvest mechanical energy. We identify the critical material parameters and device design criteria that lead to high-performance hybrid mechanical energy harvesters. Finally, we address the future perspectives and remaining challenges in the field.

에너지소산률을 이용한 구조물의 건전도 모니터링에 관한 연구 (An Energy-Dissipation-Ratio Based Structural Health Monitoring System)

  • 본 연구에서는 에너지소산률을 활용하여 구조물의 건전도를 실시간 상에서 모니터링하는 기법을 제시하였다. 실시간 모니터링에 적합하도록 계측은 자연가진기법(NExT)이 채택되었고, 동적 분석을 위해서는 고유계 구현기법(ERA)이 채택되어 실시간 데이터의 분석이 가능하도록 하였다. 이들 데이터로부터 계산된 구조물의 댐핑과 고유치만을 사용하여 에너지소산률을 계산하고, 이들 값으로부터 구조물의 손상도를 평가하는 알고리즘(에너지소산법)을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 에너지소산법은 기존의 방법(고유치변화법과 모드변화법(MAC))과 비교하여 유용성이 입증되었다. 특히 에너지소산법은 실시간 모니터링에 중요한 계측시간과 데이터의 량을 줄일 수 있었고, 자연가진을 이용하여 전체적인 구조물의 거동을 파악하기에 용이하였으며 구조물의 손상 유무를 판단하는 효과적 기법으로 입증되었다.

  • The Alternative energy has lately attracted considerable attention due to the high oil price and environment problem. In this study, pilot test facility for using the geothermal energy source from riverbank filtration was constructed and monitoring devices are installed to estimate the efficiency of this system. Initial installation cost can be saved efficiently by connect ing a heat pump system into the exist ing pumping well in Changwon riverbank filtration site. One set of monitoring results during summer was presented and analyzed.

Electric Load Signature Analysis for Home Energy Monitoring System

  • This paper focuses on identifying which appliance is currently operating by analyzing electrical load signature for home energy monitoring system. The identification framework is comprised of three steps. Firstly, specific appliance features, or signatures, were chosen, which are DC (Duty Cycle), SO (Slope of On-state), VO (Variance of On-state), and ZC (Zero Crossing) by reviewing observations of appliances from 13 houses for 3 days. Five appliances of electrical rice cooker, kimchi-refrigerator, PC, refrigerator, and TV were chosen for the identification with high penetration rate and total operation-time in Korea. Secondly, K-NN and Naive Bayesian classifiers, which are commonly used in many applications, are employed to estimate from which appliance the signatures are obtained. Lastly, one of candidates is selected as final identification result by majority voting. The proposed identification frame showed identification success rate of 94.23%.

정면밀링작업에서 절삭력을 이용한 On-Line 표면조도 감시에 관한 연구 (A Study of the on-Line Surface Roughness Monitoring using the Cutting Force in Face Milling Operation)

  • This paper presents the on-line monitoring of the surface roughness in a face milling operation. The cut- ting force was used to monitor the surface roughness, since the insert run-outs not only deteriorate surface roughness but also change cutting force. AR model and band energy method were taken to extract the fea- tures from the cutting force. The features extracted from AR modelling are more accurate about the moni- toring than those from band energy method, whereas, the computing speed of the former is slow. An artifi- cal neural network discriminated the level of the surface roughness by using the features extracted via signal processing.

  • Renewable energy sources such as wind energy is copiously available without any limitation. Wind turbines are used to tap the potential of wind energy which is available in millions of megawatt. Reliability of wind turbine is critical to extract this maximum amount of energy from the wind. We reviewed different techniques, methodologies, and algorithms developed to monitor the performance of wind turbine as well as for an early fault detection to keep away the wind turbines from catastrophic conditions due to sudden breakdowns. To keep the wind turbine in operation, implementation of Condition Monitoring System (CMS) is paramount, and for this purpose ample knowledge of these types of system is mandatory. So, an attempt has been made in this direction to review maximum approaches related to CMS in this piece of writing.

패시브 하우스 디자인 요소를 적용한 농촌지역 단독주거건물의 난방에너지 모니터링 연구 (A Study on Heating Energy Monitoring of a Rural Detached House Applying Passive House Design Components)

  • Recently, the field of construction is putting a variety of effort into reducing CO2, since global warming is being accelerated due to climate changes and the increase of greenhouse gas. For reduction of CO2 in the field of construction, it is required to make plans to cut down heating energy of buildings and especially, it is urgently needed to cut down energy of residential buildings in rural area where occupies the majority of consumption of petroleum-based energy sources. Therefore, this research compared and analyzed the actual energy consumption, by evaluating energy performance of a detached house applying passive house design components for reduction of energy. As the result, energy consumption showed remarkable differences, according to the operation of a heat recovery ventilation unit which is one of passive house design components, and building energy consumption displayed remarkable differences, too, depending on the difference of airtightness performance during building energy simulation conducted in process of design. Based on these results, the importance of airtightness performance of passive house was verified. The result of the actual measurement of energy consumption demonstrated that LNG was most economical amongst several heat resources yielded, on the basis of LPG source energy consumption measured within a certain period of time, and it was followed by kerosene. LPG was analyzed to have a low economic efficiency, when used for heating.

Improved Rs Monitoring for Robust Process Control of High Energy Well Implants

  • In this paper we describe a robust method of improving precision in monitoring high energy ion implantation processes. Ion implant energy accuracy was measured in the device manufacturing process using an unpatterned implanted layer on an intrinsic p-type silicon wafer. To increase Rs sensitivity to energy at the well implant process, a PN junction structure was formed by P-well and deep N-well implants into the p-type Si wafer. It was observed that the depletion layer formed by the PN junction was very sensitive to energy variation of the well implant. Conclusively, it can be recommended to monitor well implant processes using the Rs measurement method described herein, i.e., a PN junction diode structure since it shows excellent Rs sensitivity to variation caused by energy difference at the well implant step.
