  • In a indoor microwave power distribution system, matching-type power dividing switch is proposed and designed with a various power dividing ratio. A matching coaxial cable probe is used behind the output probe for the reflecting power absorption. Reflecting characteristics of the matching coaxial cable probe are calculated by analyzing the S-parameter of this structure. Newly proposed matching-type switch shows a very low return loss less than -30dB at the operating frequency of 2.45GHz with a dividing power ratio of 50.2%. The simulated results by use of 3-stage power divider shows a good agreement with the theoretical estimation for the various combination of the different switching ratio.

  • In the stagewise arithmetic orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm, the weak threshold used in sparsity estimation is determined via maximum iterations. Different maximum iterations correspond to different thresholds and affect the performance of the algorithm. To solve this problem, we propose an improved variable weak threshold based on the stagewise arithmetic orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm. Our proposed algorithm uses the residual error value to control the weak threshold. When the residual value decreases, the threshold value continuously increases, so that the atoms contained in the atomic set are closer to the real sparsity value, making it possible to improve the reconstruction accuracy. In addition, we improved the generalized Jaccard coefficient in order to replace the inner product method that is used in the stagewise arithmetic orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm. Our proposed algorithm uses the covariance to replace the joint expectation for two variables based on the generalized Jaccard coefficient. The improved generalized Jaccard coefficient can be used to generate a more accurate calculation of the correlation between the measurement matrixes. In addition, the residual is more accurate, which can reduce the possibility of selecting the wrong atoms. We demonstrate using simulations that the proposed algorithm produces a better reconstruction result in the reconstruction of a one-dimensional signal and two-dimensional image signal.

  • In this paper we define the probability models for determining the disparity map given stereo images and derive the methods for solving the problem, which is proven to be equivalent to an energy-based stereo matching. Under the assumptions the difference between the pixel on the left image and the corresponding pixel on the right image and the difference between the disparities of the neighboring pixels are exponentially distributed, a recursive approach for estimating the MRF regularizing parameter is proposed. The proposed method alternates between estimating the parameters with the intermediate disparity map and estimating the disparity map with the estimated parameters, after computing it with random initial parameters. Our algorithm is applied to the stereo matching algorithms based on the dynamic programming and belief propagation to verify its operation and measure its performance.

  • This paper defines the probability models for determining the disparity map given stereo images and derives the methods for solving the problem, which is proven to be equivalent to an energy-based stereo matching. Under the assumptions the difference between the pixel on the left image and the corresponding pixel on the right image and the difference between the disparities of the neighboring pixels are exponentially distributed, a recursive approach for estimating the MRF regularizing parameter is proposed. Usually energy-based stereo matching methods are so sensitive to the parameter that it should be carefully determined. The proposed method alternates between estimating the parameter with the intermediate disparity map and estimating the disparity map with the estimated parameter, after computing it with random initial parameter. It is shown that the parameter estimated by the proposed method converges to the optimum and its performance can be improved significantly by adjusting the parameter and modifying the energy term.

  • According to several seismic design standards, a ground motion time history should be selected similar to the design response spectrum, or a ground motion time history should be modified by matching procedure to the design response spectrum through the time-domain method. For the response spectrum matching procedure, appropriate seed ground motions need to be selected to maintain recorded earthquake accelerogram characteristics. However, there are no specific criteria for selecting the seed ground motions for applying this methodology. In this study, the characteristics of ground motion time histories between seed motions and spectral matched motions were compared. Intensity measures used in the design were compared, and their change by spectral matching procedure was quantified. In addition, the seed ground motion sets were determined according to the response spectrum shape, and these sets analyzed the response of nonlinear and equivalent linear single degrees of freedom systems to present the seed motion selection conditions for spectral matching. As a result, several considerations for applying the time domain spectral matching method were presented.

  • We propose a DP-based formulation for matching line patterns by defining a robust and stable geometric representation that is based on the conceptual organizations. Usually, the endpoint proximity and collinearity of image lines, as two main conceptual organization groups, are useful cues to match the model shape in the scene. As the endpoint proximity, we detect junctions from image lines. We then search for junction groups by using geometric constraint between the junctions. A junction chain similar to the model chain is searched in the scene, based on a local comparison. A Dynamic Programming-based search algorithm reduces the time complexity for the search of the model chain in the scene. Our system can find a reasonable matching, although there exist severely distorted objects in the scene. We demonstrate the feasibility of the DP-based matching method using both synthetic and real images.

  • Belief propagation (BP) is a commonly used global energy minimization algorithm for solving stereo matching problem in 3D reconstruction. However, it requires large memory bandwidth and data size. In this paper, we propose a novel memory-efficient algorithm of BP in stereo matching on the Graphics Processing Units (GPU). The data size and transfer bandwidth are significantly reduced by storing only a part of the whole message. In order to maintain the accuracy of the matching result, the local messages are reconstructed using shared memory available in GPU. Experimental result shows that there is almost an order of reduction in the global memory consumption, and 21 to 46% saving in memory bandwidth when compared to the conventional algorithm. The implementation result on a recent GPU shows that we can obtain 22.8 times speedup in execution time compared to the execution on CPU.

  • We develop an automatic imaging matching technique for combining portal image and simulator image for improvements in localization of treatment in radiation therapy. Fusion of images from two imaging modalities is treated as follows. We archive images thxough a frame-yabber. The simulator and portal images are edge detected and enhanced with interpolated adaptive histouam equalization and combined using geometrical parameters relating the coordinates of two image data sets which are calculated using Fourier descriptors. We don't use any kind of imaging markers for patient's convenience. clinical use of this image matching technique for treatment planning will result in improvements in localization of treatment volumes and critical structures. These improvements will allow greater sparing of normal tissues and more precise delivery of energy to the desired irradiation volume.

  • This work conducted the experimental analysis on ultrasonic acoustic matching in order to measure the accuracy of gaseous fuel level values. The experimental devices were used as 12V-DC supply, control T1 board, oscilloscope (DS01072B), ultrasonic probe and pattern table. The research models were designed by ceramic assay which can determine the transmitting and receiving energies. The result of the ringing area could verify the increased characteristics in the order of D (0.180m) < E (0.184m) < B (0.204m) < A (0.234m) < F (0.244m) < C (0.247m) models based on initial 2.9V of the maximum peak voltage. From the experimental results, the model designed by Ø21*3+2t of the matching layer was notable in that the most outstanding directivity energy could be created.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive photon energy fluence and mass energy absorption coefficient for 1 Gy of absorbed dose of water in brachytherapy using an Ir192 source. From the radiotherapy physics written by Khan, the half-value of lead for the gamma ray beam of the Ir192 source was obtained. The linear attenuation coefficient and the mass attenuation coefficient were calculated from the obtained half-value layer of lead. By matching the calculated lead mass attenuation coefficient with the NIST mass attenuation coefficient data, the photon energy of the matching mass attenuation coefficient was determined as the effective energy. By matching the determined effective energy with the photon energy of the NIST data on the mass energy absorption coefficient of water, the mass energy absorption coefficient of water was obtained as 0.03273 cm2/g(32.73 cm2/kg). The photon energy fluence was calculated as 0.03055 J/cm2 by dividing the obtained mass energy absorption coefficient (32.73 cm2/kg) by the absorbed dose of water 1 Gy.
