  • Let M be a Riemannian manifold with asymptotically non-negative curvature. We study the asymptotic behavior of the energy densities of a harmonic map and an exponentially harmonic function on M. We prove that the energy density of a bounded harmonic map vanishes at infinity when the target is a Cartan-Hadamard manifold. Also we prove that the energy density of a bounded exponentially harmonic function vanishes at infinity.

  • Recently, sandwich structures have been widely employed in load bearing structures due to their high specific stiffness and high specific strength. Some sandwich structures are subjected to not only static loads but also impact loads which might induce failure of structures at far less load than expected. Since sandwich structures can fail in various modes, estimation of the impact energy absorption is difficult. In this work, the impact failure modes and the impact energy absorption characteristics of the sandwich beams were predicted by the FE analysis and confirmed by the impact test. From the analytic and experimental results, the impact failure mode map was constructed with respect to non-dimensional parameters.

  • The global warming caused by consumption of fossil fuel and energy has been interested. Therefore, several policies and regulations have been discussed to reduce greenhouse gas emission and effective energy consumption. The construction industry that takes 45% of energy consumption makes efforts to develop green construction methods and materials and reuseable energy. However, there is no common definition to calculate greenhouse gas and database in the construction industry. Especially, transportation infrastructure like road, railway, harbor, and airport consumes 21% energy of construction facilities. Therefore, this paper develops the causal relationship to define performance of sustainable road construction and maintenance. The performance indices are grouped into economic, social, and envirionmental impacts. Then, the causal map is developed based on survey results of construction experts. This will provide the baseline to evaluate the performance of sustainable construction and to establish the objective goals.

  • In complex buildings, Way-finding is the most important factor for safe evacuation. Recently, evacuation guidance systems using smartphones have been developed. However, smartphone evacuation guidance maps used in these studies appear different from those used in previous studies due to the lack of established standards. Therefore, in this study, we conducted a preference survey of evacuation guidance maps as a basic research for establishing evacuation guidance maps using smartphones. The components of smartphone evacuation guidance maps were selected using regulations and analyses conducted in previous studies, and preference surveys were conducted using the size of each component. Through this research, we suggested a method to create a high preference for each component of an evacuation guidance map.

  • Recently, people are getting more interested in green energy resource and environment friendly energy resource due to the lack of energy and global warming. This study produced a solar energy resource map using LiDAR(Light Detection And Ranging) data to check if it is utilized for spatial information technology and solar energy sectors that people pay more attentions to as new recycling energy. This study assigned Ulleungdo(Island) located in Gyeongsangbuk-do as a target area. This study created the contour line with 1 meter by newly photographing LiDAR and data processing. And using this contour line, this study built DEM(Digital Elevation Model) data with 1 meter. The incidence range depending on the altitude and azimuth of sun using DEM data is used to evaluate solar energy resource. This is expected to suggest an accurate method to evaluate more reliable and more precise information of new recycling energy resource by producing solar energy resource map based on accurate and precise spatial resolution data with 1 meter level.

  • In this paper, we propose a new stereo correspondence method for generating excellent external energy for snake-based object segmentation methods in stereo images. Our method first generates an edge-based disparity map by performing stereo correspondence between multi-level edge maps of the stereo image pair. Only edges of similar strength are considered for matching. To filter the disparity map for edges of the object of interest, the method estimates the object's disparity value by matching the pattern of edges of the region of interest in the left image against candidate patterns in the right image. The filtered edge map is then used to generate external energy for the snake. The proposed method has been tested on two snake models and results show a noticeable enhancement on performance of the snake when compared with other methods.

  • To reduce pollution, decrease the production of carbon dioxide, and to maintain a secure supply of energy, interest continues to grow in the area of renewable energy especially since there is a finite supply of cheap oil. Wind energy is one of the most viable options to consider and supply part of the energy needed to reduce dependence on foreign oil. However, it is difficult to predict the wind speed in an environment with many obstacles such as buildings and trees and getting accurate dimensions of those obstacles is difficult particularly on sloped mountainous terrain. In this study a drone was used to create a 3-D map of the campus of the Catholic University of Pusan. The dimensions and elevations for the 3-D map were used to make a model of the school campus in the CFD program Envi-met. Simulations were run for five different wind directions and 4 different elevations to find the location that would give the highest electrical output for a wind turbine. When considering all of these variables it was found that the optimal location was above the Student Union which had a 40% higher wind speed and could produce 274% more electrical power than the original wind speed.

  • T Recently, the government has been promoting the expansion and supply of renewable energy as an alternative for achieving carbon neutrality and the nationally determined contributions by 2030. In 2020, the Ministries of Industry and Environment and the Korea Forest Service collaborated to build a nationwide onshore wind energy siting atlas considering wind resources and forestry and environmental regulations focused on central regulations. In this study, the ordinances of the local governments were analyzed to examine the effects of regional location regulations on the expansion of onshore wind power energy generation facilities, in addition to those of central regulations. A development permit standard survey of 226 urban plan ordinances of the local governments nationwide showed that presently in 2022, 52 municipalities are applying regulations on wind energy generation facilities by ordinances. This is twice more than that in 2018, when renewable energy power generation facility development was difficult. Additionally, the location regulations applied by these ordinances were organized by items and regions, and regulatory characteristics, such as the number and scope, were analyzed by regions. To analyze the spatial distribution characteristics, JeollaNamdo was selected as the case area. A spatial DB was established for regulated areas based on the regional and central regulations, and the spatial distribution characteristics and the regulatory scope were compared and analyzed.

  • Many LCD manufacturers continue to develop the technologies of LCD manufacturing processes for the reduction of production cost, power consumption and high-resolution. The LTPS (Low Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) crystallization technology is important for rearranging the internal structure of liquid crystal grain by adding certain energy to amorphous silicon and turning it into poly-silicon in order to manufacture LCD with better performance. We consider 14 existing technologies of LTPS crystallization in the LCD manufacturing and present an intelligent analysis methodology using patent map and AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis for determining an optimal LTPS crystallization technology. By using patent map analysis, we easily understand the development process and mega-trend of LTPS crystallization technologies and their relationship. By using AHP analysis, we evaluate 14 LTPS technologies. Through the use of proposed methodology, we determine the Continuous Wave Laser Lateral Crystallization technology as an optimal one.
