  • The node mobility in the wireless mobile network environment increases the energy consumption. This paper proposes a CNMA (cluster-based node management algorithm) to reduce the energy consumption caused by node mobility, and to prolong the life cycle for cluster member nodes. The proposed CNMA traces the mobility for nodes between cluster header and member, and it analyses the energy capacity as monitoring periodically their relationship. So, it makes a division and merges by analysing the state transition for nodes. This paper is to reduce the energy consumption due to the node mobility. The simulation results show that the proposed CNMA can efficiently control the energy consumption caused by mobility, and it can improve the energy cycle.

  • Vibrational energy harvester based on piezoelectricity has been expected to be the dominant energy harvesting technology due to the advantages of high conversion efficiency, light weight and small size, night operation, etc. Its commercialization is just around the corner but the integration with power management electronics should be solved in advance. In this paper, therefore, fully-integrated design environment for piezoelectric energy harvesting systems is presented to assist co-design with the power management electronics. The proposed design environment is capable of analyzing the energy harvester including the package-induced damping effects and simulating the device and its power management electronics simultaneously. When the developed design environment was applied to the fabricated device, the simulated resonant frequency matched well with the experimental result with a difference of 2.97% only. Also, the complex transient response was completed in short simulation time of 3,001 seconds including the displacement distribution over the device geometry. Furthermore, a full-bridge power management circuit was modeled and simulated with the energy harvester simultaneously. Therefore the proposed, fully-integrated design environment is accurate and fast enough for the contribution on successful commercialization of piezoelectric energy harvester.

  • This paper proposes the components of the energy management system (EMS) for optimum operation of renewable energy and associated energy storage system (ESS), the functions to be considered in designing, the analysis of operational effects, and finally the reduction of electricity costs. To accomplish the objectives, a lithium-ion battery system and an energy management system have installed in a PV system, and it presents the results analyzed with operation data for a year. To increase the system operation efficiency, we propose the effect that EMS is used to replace the demand power at the peak time with the charge power at the light load time, which suggests the influence of contributing to the charge benefit and load leveling according to the ESS tariff.

  • While protecting its lives and property from natural disasters such as floods and droughts, North Korea needs to develop into an informationized industrial society by securing renewable energy power in the era of energy transition. In addition, existing research has considered that a policy of continuous and consistent expansion of renewable energy based on the safety of the lives of ordinary people could be the solution. South Korea needs to recognize that the supply of energy for a minimum of living is more important to the North Korean people than the economic benefits of securing North Korea's renewable energy market. Therefore, in this paper, from that point of view, we have calculated the amount of electricity that North Korea lacks necessary for the lives of its inhabitants that can be replaced by renewable energy, and considered ways to estimate the market value.

  • With the enactment of the "Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth to Cope with Climate Crisis," various sector-specific plans are being implemented to achieve carbon neutrality. School facilities are mandatory buildings for the "Zero Energy Building Certification" and are the buildings that account for the highest proportion among public institution buildings. Therefore, they play a major role in achieving carbon neutrality in the construction sector. This study analyzed the recent energy use trends and zero energy levels in varied ways to promote the spread of building energy management systems and to provide basic data for efficient operation management and investigated the effectiveness and user opinions of the Building Energy Management System (BEMS) applied to school facilities.

  • This paper analyzed the factors for increasing energy consumption in the domestic manufacturing sector using the LMDI (Log mean division index) decomposition method for the period from 1999 to 2019. Among the LMDI decomposition analysis methods, both additive and multiplicative factor decomposition methods were used. in this analysis. According to the result of the analysis, the factor that increased energy consumption in the domestic manufacturing industry was the production effect, and the structure effect and intensity effect were found to be the factors that decreased energy consumption. In particular, the reduction of energy consumption due to the structure effect was greater than that of energy consumption effect due to the intensity effect. By period, it can be seen that energy consumption increased rapidly due to the production effect until 2011, but after that, the increase in energy consumption due to the production effect slowed down. On the other hand, after that, the energy reduction effect due to the structure effect and the intensity effect became prominent. In order to save energy in the manufacturing sector in the future, energy diagnosis and management through EMS (Energy management system) and FEMS (Factory energy management system) are more necessary. In addition, restructuring into a low-energy consumption industry seems more necessary.

  • For the effective energy management, this study proposed BIM(Building Information Modeling)-based Data Mining Model(B-DMM). To conduct this, BIM-based data mining researches were surveyed then the use-cases and scenarios related to the energy management were analyzed. By using this results, B-DMM for supporting the decision making related the energy management was proposed. The output will be used as a decision making tool for managing a building energy.
