전자선 조사 방법을 통한 생분해성고분자의 표면개질 특성 평가 (Surface Modification of Poly(L-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) Nanofibers by Electron-beam Irradiation)

  • Electrospun nanofibers prepared with synthetic biodegradable polymer have some limitations in regulating adhesion, proliferation, and spreading of cells because of their surface hydrophobicity and absence of cell-interaction. In this study, we functionalized the electrospun poly(L-lactide-co-${\varepsilon}$-caprolactone) (PLCL) nanofibers with acrylic acid (AAc) to modulate their surface hydrophilicity using electron-beam irradiation method and then measured grafting ratio of AAc, water contact angle, and ATR-FTIR of AAc-grafted nanofibers. A grafting ratio of AAc on the nanofibers was increased as irradiation dose and AAc concentration were increased. AAc-grafted nanofibers also have higher wettability than non-modified nanofibers. In conclusion, those surface-modified nanofibers may be an essential candidate to regulate cell attachment in tissue engineering applications.

두충과 느릅 혼합추출물에 의한 염증 억제 효과 (In Vitro Anti-inflammatory Activities of Herbal Extracts with Eucommia ulimoides and Ulmus davidiana)

  • This study confirmed the cytotoxicity and anti-inflammatory activities of natural herbal extracts (HE) including Eucommia ulimoides and Ulmus davidiana against human mast cell (HMC-1). HE was extracted with distilled water (at $75^{\circ}C$) and then freeze-dried for 5 days. Finally, the HE was sterilized by gamma radiation with $^{60}Co$ ${\gamma}$ source at room temperature. Cytotoxicity of the HE against HMC-1 cell was measured using cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. In addition, inflammatory cytokines such as $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-6 and IL-8 were evaluated by ELISA kit on the HMC-1 cells with calcimycin A23187 and phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA). The results showed that HE had no toxicity and reduced $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-6, IL-8 response on HMC-1 cells.

한국 에너지기업의 기술수준 결정요인 분석 (Determinants of Technological Level in Korean Energy Industry)

  • 본고는 한국 에너지 기업의 기술수준을 세계 최고수준과 대비하고, 이러한 기술수준을 결정하는 요인들을 기술경제이론과 경영자원의존이론을 통해 살펴보았다. 한국 에너지기업의 세계최고수준 대비 기술수준은 기술경제적 요인인 규모의 경제효과와 전방기업과 후방기업간 협력적 관계 등에 의해 긍정적 영향을 받고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 반면, 국내시장의 경쟁정도, 연구개발투자 비중, 연구개발인력 비중 등은 국내 에너지기업의 세계 최고수준 대비 제품기술수준에 영향을 미치치 못하고 있는 것으로 분석되고 있다. 이 분석에서 얻을 수 있는 정책적 시사점은 한국 에너지기업의 기술수준을 제고하기 위해서는 국내시장을 더욱 경쟁적으로 전환해야 하며, 연구개발투자와 연구개발인력 등을 확충하고 부가가치사슬 상에서 전방기업과 후방기업 간 공동발전을 촉진하는 정책을 추진할 필요가 있다는 것이다.

  • Now Korea depends upon the imported resources for about 97% of total using energy. So from October, 2001 Korean government has supported renewable energy business owners by providing them with Electric Power Industry Basis Fund. Only plant-use electricity of the small hydro power plant is exactly managed, but other renewable energy plants is unprepared or not yet managed. Therefore, in this paper, we'll analyze the plant-use electricity management of the small hydro power and propose improvement plans for plant-use electricity of the photovoltaic power plant.

케나프로부터 리그닌 추출에 대한 전자선의 영향 (The Effect of Electron Beam Irradiation on the Extraction of Lignin from Kenaf)

  • Kenaf (Hibiscuc cannabinus L.) is a renewable resource for industry and kenaf lignin is syringyl-guaiacyl lignin. The electron beam irradiated on kenaf core various doses range from 200 to 1,000 kGy to improve delignification. The yield of lignin, which is 2.53 g from 10 g of electron beam irradiated kenaf core. A comparison extracted lignin between from native kenaf core and electron beam irradiated kenaf core was then studied through chemical structure and bonding property by a Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Thermal stability of the extracted-purified lignin was performed via differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). These results were explained that electron beam irradiation increased performance of extracting efficiency.

  • We observe the proton signals produced by laser interaction with thin-foil targets of polyimide and of copper. We change the thickness of the polyimide target to $7.5{\mu}m$, $12.5{\mu}m$, and $50{\mu}m$. High-energy protons with the maximum energy of ${\sim}2.3\;MeV$ from $7.5{\mu}m$ thick polyimide are observed. This proton beam with the maximum energy of multi-MeV has various applications such as a proton shadowgraphy.

Using ICT for Mongolia's sustainable development in energy industry

  • Nowadays every technology is becoming smarter. Consequently, intensive use of ICT in the whole industries and cities enables a sustainable approach to meet enormous productivity, efficiency, transparency and conservation of natural recourses. Likewise, the role of ICT in terms of controlling, monitoring in the energy industry allows integrating potential renewables, bulk energy conservation and reliable optimized operation in the entire system. In this paper outlines challenging issues in renewable energy integration in Mongolia and proposes potential recommendations and conclusions. The author investigated the main technologies used in energy industry mainly smart grid, challenges and policy aspect in Mongolian energy sector by using the primary and secondary approach with case studies and literature based methodologies. Based on the policy aspect and current implementation of smart grid, the paper tries to address the readiness for the main application and future potential ICT driven applications. Furthermore, it concluded that ICT convergence is demanded to overcome the current vulnerabilities and significant momentum to leave behind by using its potential energy recourses and favorable geographical state. Policymakers may find this study useful, as it answers the question of whether ICT investment can ultimately reduce energy consumption and may aid in future planning. Even tough, in order to develop a smart grid and integrating renewables firstly set an appropriate market structure, ICT will key enabler to make energy system more profitable and sustainable. Regarding the result of this study, ICT deployment contribution is a huge demand for future opportunities energy in Mongolia.

인도 녹색산업 진입 전략에 대한 탐색적 연구 - 재생에너지 분야를 중심으로 - (The Exploratory Study on the Entry Mode for Indian Green Industry)

  • CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) between India and Korea may vitalize Korean economy more and more. Currently most of Korean firms have entered into manufacturing industries like electronics and automobiles. But only a few Korean companies are trying to penetrate into Indian green industry so this paper suggest how to enter into Indian green industry, especially renewable energy sectors. First, Exporting main shaft, tower-flange and polysilicon products can be considered, as a first step of entry mode. Second, entry mode based on contract like technology licensing, strategic alliance and joint venture establishment can be also one of options. For example, Korean solar energy industry which show more competitiveness than that of Indians should try to make technological licensing on PV modules. In addition to this, they should also try to make joint ventures with right Indian partners and build up 'Solar City' nearby regions like Gurgaon in India where many Korean firms are located. Korean shipbuilding firms like Hyundai Engineering which keep on developing wind turbo engines can also try to make strategic alliance with Indian firms like Suzlon which has strong competitiveness. After that, they should explore Korean and Indian wind sector markets together. Third, brownfield investment can be last and final option as a entry mode as we consider the peculiar characteristics of renewable energy industry. Lastly, Korean government which are rush to indulge into green business should formulate more proper and realistic policies to give big incentives the concerned firms which are trying to open international green market so government should make Korean green firms not to lose good market opportunities related to green industry like renewable energy sectors. Renewable energy sectors are basically regarded as infrastructures so close contact to Indian central government as well as state government will be also required.
