This study examines building's power consumption unit cost and Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV)'s generation efficiency and load rate with the subjects of university dormitory buildings in order to suggest foundational data for new and recycled energy use and management to plan and operate university dormitories afterwards. Thereby, this research gained the following findings. 1. The quantity of solar radiation and efficiency change in the BIPV system applied to the research subject buildings after the lapse of time was averagely 8.7%, and it is thought that temperature increase determines conversion efficiency with the influence of surrounding outside temperature and the module's temperature. 2. The generation efficiency of the BIPV system in the research subject buildings was averagely 10.9%. In May, it was 13.9%, and in January, it was the lowest as 10.25%. Considering the fact that power consumption reduces during an intermediate period, it will be necessary to establish measures for equipment and power consumption load balancing. 3. The monthly load rate of the BIPV system was averagely 4.09%. In May, it was the highest as 4.94%, and in July, it was the lowest as 3.24%. 4. It is intended to conduct constant follow-up research on estimating university dormitory building's power consumption unit cost and examining the generation efficiency and load rate of the BIPV system.
In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the amount of current through the Timing Control of the duty cycle and the Report Attribute Control at the MAC Layer in consideration of the Sleep Mode under the IoT wireless environment. The use of a duty cycle is an effective way to reduce energy consumption on wireless sensor networks where the node is placed in sleep mode periodically. In particular, we studied how to control power efficiency through duty rate in Short Transition Time and ACK Time processing while satisfying radio channel limitation criterion. When comparing before and after the improvement considering the delay time constraint, we validated the correlation of the electrical current reduction.

Over the last decade multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems have been actively researched and started to be deployed in wireless communications owing to the significant increase in channel capacity. In this paper, we propose a energy saving MAC protocol in systems by focusing on energy efficiency instead of capacity maximization. We considers the energy consumption together with the tradeoff between reliability (i.e., diversity) and throughput (i.e., multiplexing gain), and dynamically chooses an appropriate number of antennas for transmission. In computing the total energy consumption, we counts circuit energy as well as transmission energy. Naturally the circuit energy consumption is directly proportional to the number of active antennas. Through numerical analysis, we confirm that our power saving MAC scheme for MIMO considerably saves energy consumption compared to conventional capacity maximization schemes that use a fixed number of MIMO channels, for a given outage constraint. Our finding is that the capacity maximizing communication which possibly can be regarded best in terms of energy efficiency gives a different solution from the energy minimizing communication.
Recent years in Korea, some new developed buildings are only using electricity as power for heating, cooling, bathing and even cooking which means except electricity, there is no natural gas or other kinds of energy used in such kind of building. In vehicle industry area, scientists already invented electric vehicle as an environment friendly vehicle; after that, in architecture design and construction field, buildings only using electricity appeared; the curiosity of the environment impact of energy consumption by such kind of building lead me to do this research. In general, electricity is known as a clean energy resource reasoned by it is noncombustible energy resource; however, although there is no environmental pollution by using electricity, electricity generation procedure in power plant may cause huge amount of environment pollution; especially, electricity generation from combusting coal in power plant could emit enormous air pollutants to the air. In this research, the yearly amount of air pollution by energy using under traditional way in research target building that is using natural gas for heating, bathing and cooking and electricity for lighting, equipment and cooling is compared with yearly amount of air pollution by only using electricity as power in the building; result shows that building that only uses electricity emits much more air pollutants than uses electricity and natural gas together in the building. According to the amount of air pollutants comparison result between two different energy application types in the building, residential SOFC (Solid oxide fuel cell) is simulated to apply in this building for decreasing environment pollution of the building; furthermore, high load factor could lead high efficiency of SOFC, in the scenario of simulating applying SOFC in the building, SOFC is shared by two or three households in spring and autumn to increase efficiency of the SOFC. In sum, this research is trying to demonstrate electricity is a conditioned environment friendly energy resource; in the meanwhile, SOFC is simulated efficiently applying in the building only using electricity as power to decrease the large amount of air pollutants by energy using in the building. Energy consumption of the building is analyzed by calibrated commercial software Design Builder; the calibrated mathematical model of SOFC is referred from other researcher's study.

The energy consumption problem should be taken into consideration in wireless sensor network. Many studies have been proposed to address the energy consumption and delay problem. In this paper, we propose BISA(Bio-inspired Scheduling Algorithm) to reduce the energy consumption and delay in wireless sensor networks based on biological system. BISA investigates energy-efficient routing path and minimizes the energy consumption and delay using multi-channel for data transmission by multiplexing data transmission path. Through simulation, we confirm that the proposed scheme guarantees the efficient energy consumption and delay requirement.
Many researches have been actively performed to increase energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks. In these researches communication has been the most important target for reducing energy consumption. In fact, in most cases, the frequencies of communication and sensing in a sensor node affect its energy consumption. Therefore, sensing period and transmission period need to be controlled to increase energy efficiency. This paper proposes on energy efficient and restricted query flooding mechanism using service discovery. Further, we implement node management system based on the mechanism and evaluate its performance.
Big data information and pattern analysis have applications in many industrial sectors. To reduce energy consumption effectively, the eco-driving method that reduces the fuel consumption of vehicles has recently come under scrutiny. Using big data on commercial vehicles obtained from digital tachographs (DTGs), it is possible not only to aid traffic safety but also improve eco-driving. In this study, we estimate fuel consumption efficiency by processing and analyzing DTG big data for commercial vehicles using parallel processing with the MapReduce mechanism. Compared to the conventional measurement of fuel consumption using the On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD-II) device, in this paper, we use actual DTG data and OBD-II fuel consumption data to identify meaningful relationships to calculate fuel efficiency rates. Based on the driving pattern extracted from DTG data, estimating fuel consumption is possible by analyzing driving patterns obtained only from DTG big data.

Thanks to internet, as one of indispensable parts of our lives, many devices that we use in our daily lives like TV, air conditioner, refrigerator, washing machine, can be monitored and controlled remotely by becoming more intelligent via Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Smart Home applications as one of the elements of smart cities, are individually the most demanded application without question. In this study, Smart Energy Management (SEM) system, based on NodeMCU and Android, has been designed for SEM, which is a part of the smart home application. With this system, household energy consumption can be monitored in real time, as well as having the ability to record the data comprising of operation times and energy consumption information for each device. Additionally, it is ensured to meet the energy needs on a maximized level possible, during the hours when the energy costs are lower owing to the SEM system. The Android interface provides the users with the opportunity to monitor and change their electricity consumption habits in order to optimize the energy efficiency, along with the opportunity to draw up of a daily and weekly schedule.
For reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the short-term strategy is of existing energy-efficient appliances to facilitate the spread of energy efficiency improvements to improve energy efficiency, energy saving projects that will include investments to enable. R&D is at the core of the long-term strategy. To reduce energy demand, the equipments and processes improved energy efficiency should be developed. In terms of energy supply, the policies for greenhouse gas reduction is to replace fossil fuels by expanding the supply of renewable energy such as solar, wind, geothermal, biomass and nuclear power as nearly zero-emission of greenhouse gas. In terms of energy consumption, measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is in line with the policy for efficiency improvement. The buildings & work-site of high-energy consumption in the building & Industry sectors, should implement a policy to strengthening the voluntary agreement on energy-saving facilities and expand to invest in energy saving facilities.
In case of newly constructed buildings, the construction type is almost Curtain-wall system or large window in building skin. However, these kind of buildings have problems with regulations on building energy efficiency. And national regulations on building energy efficiency limit only the V-factor of window(except infiltration), it is hard to predict energy consumption of Curtain-wall buildings which gain large solar energy in summer. In this study, the influence of LSG(Light to Solar Gain) on energy performance was theoretically analyzed with simulation. LSG is the value of VLT divide SHGC and represents the optical performance of the glass or glazing. The Window & Therm program developed in LBNL was used to analyze window systems and EnergyPlus was used to building energy. Cases of glazing are three types; single coated Low-e clear glazing, tripple coated Low-e clear glazing, tripple coated Low-e tinted glazing. The results of this study are follows; 1) The building energy consumption of Alt-l, 2, 3 were about 300, 253, $259kWh/m^2{\cdot}yr$ respectively. Therefore, improvement of LSG could save the energy up to 16%. 2) The saved energy could be converted 1 billion won as annual benefit of total energy costs 3) SHGC and LSG more influence on cooling energy than heating energy in office buildings.
