This study set out to devise an optimized system to take into account life cycle cost(LCC) and ton of carbon dioxide($TCO_2$) by applying the weighted coefficient method(WCM) to "public-purpose" facility buildings according to the mandatory 5% and 11% of new renewable energy in total construction costs and anticipated energy consumption, respectively, based on the changes of the public obligation system. (1) System installation capacity is applied within the same new renewable energy facility investment according to the mandatory 5% of new renewable energy in total construction costs. Both LCC and $TCO_2$ recorded in the descending order of geothermal, solar, and photovoltaic energy. The geothermal energy systems tended to exhibit an excellent performance with the increasing installation capacity percentage. (2) Optimal systems include the geothermal energy(100%) system in the category of single systems, the solar energy(12%)+geothermal energy(88%) system in the category of 2-combined systems, and the photovoltaic energy(12%)+solar energy(12%)+geothermal energy(76%) system and the photovoltaic energy(12%)+solar energy(25%)+geothermal energy(63%) system in the category of 3-combined systems. (3) LCC was the highest in the descending order of photovoltaic, geothermal and solar energy due to the influences of each energy source's correction coefficient according to the mandatory 11% of new renewable energy in anticipated energy consumption. The greater installation capacity percentage photovoltaic energy had, the more excellent tendency was observed. $TCO_2$ recorded in the descending order of geothermal, photovoltaic and solar energy with the decreasing installation capacity of photovoltaic energy. The greater installation capacity percentage a geothermal energy system had, the more excellent tendency it demonstrated. (4) Optimal systems include the geothermal energy(100%) system in the category of single systems, the photovoltaic energy(62%)+geothermal energy(38%) system in the category of 2-combined systems, and the photovoltaic energy(50%)+solar energy(12%)+geothermal energy(38%) system and the photovoltaic energy(12%)+solar energy(12%)+geothermal energy(76%) system in the category of 3-combined systems.

Energy content, expressed as calories per gram, is an important part of the evaluation and marketing of foods in developed countries. Currently accepted methods of measurement of energy by U.S. food labeling legislation include measurement of gross calories by bomb calorimetry with an adjustment for undigested protein and by calculation using specific factors for the energy values of protein, carbohydrate less the amount of insoluble dietary fiber, and total fat. The ability of NIRS to predict the energy value of diverse, processed and unprocessed cereal food products was investigated. NIR spectra of cereal products were obtained with an NIR Systems monochromator and the wavelength range used for analysis was 1104-2494 nm. Gross energy of the foods was measured by oxygen bomb calorimetry (Parr Manual No. 120) and expressed as calories per gram (CPGI, range 4.05-5.49 cal/g). Energy value was adjusted for undigested protein (CPG2, range 3.99-5.38 cal/g) and undigested protein and insoluble dietary fiber (CPG3, range 2.42-5.35 cal/g). Using a multivariate analysis software package (ISI International, Inc.) partial least squares models were developed for the prediction of energy content. The standard error of cross validation and multiple coefficient of determination for CPGI using modified partial least squares regression (n=127) was 0.060 cal/g and 0.95, respectively, and the standard error of performance, coefficient of determination, bias and slope using an independent validation set (n=59) were 0.057 cal/g, 0.98, -0.027 cal/g and 1.05 respectively. The PLS loading for factor 1 (Pearson correlation coefficient 0.92) had significant absorption peaks correlated to C-H stretch groups in lipid at 1722/1764 nm and 2304/2346 nm and O-H groups in carbohydrate at 1434 and 2076 nm. Thus the model appeared to be predominantly influenced by lipid and carbohydrate. Models for CPG2 and CPG3 showed similar trends with standard errors of performance, using the independent validation set, of 0.058 and 0.088 cal/g, respectively, and coefficients of determination of 0.96. Thus NIRS provides a rapid and efficient method of predicting energy content of diverse cereal foods.
An essential step in evaluating and comparing the performance of two passive radiation dosimeter types, thermosluminescent (TLD) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), used by workers in environments with ionizing radiation for individual radiological monitoring and control of external exposure at various times (cumulative dose for 1 month), is to compare the measured dose accuracy, energy response, and coefficient of variation. In fact this performance study consists in determining the accuracy of both R(10) and R(0.07) which are considered as the ratios of the measured dose (Hp(10) or Hp(0.07)) to the delivered dose (Hp(10) or Hp(0.07)) for each photon energy. The validity of the results of this test is based on the acceptance limits of the ICRP and the international standard IEC-62387. The relative energy response used is normalized to the 137Cs 662 keV energy to find which energy response is closest to the ideal case, and the coefficient of variation that allows to determine the statistical fluctuation of the Hp(10) and Hp(0.07) doses. The results of the accuracy test for the OSL and TLD dosimeters are acceptable because they fall within the ICRP limits. For the energy response, the OSL performs better than the TLD for Hp(10) and Hp(0.07), and for the coefficient of variation, the OSL satisfies the requirements of ISO 62387 for both Hp(10) and Hp(0.07), while the TLD satisfies these requirements only for the measurement of Hp (0.07).

In the present paper, a coaxial rotating smeared crack model is proposed for mass concrete in three-dimensional space. The model is capable of applying both the constant and variable shear transfer coefficients in the cracking process. The model considers an advanced yield function for concrete failure under both static and dynamic loadings and calculates cracking or crushing of concrete taking into account the fracture energy effects. The model was utilized on Koyna Dam using finite element technique. Dam-water and dam-foundation interactions were considered in dynamic analysis. The behavior of dam was studied for different shear transfer coefficients considering/neglecting fracture energy effects. The results were extracted at crest displacement and crack profile within the dam body. The results show the importance of both shear transfer coefficient and the fracture energy in seismic analysis of concrete dams under high hydrostatic pressure.

A soil whose texture is silt loam was collected for the study from an area around a nuclear facility in Korea. The equilibrium sorption coefficient between Co$^{2+}$in water and the soil was 1.51/kg, on the other hand, that between Co$^{2+}$ in EDTA and the soil was 0.21/kg. The values calculated by the developed nonequilibrium sorption code corresponded to the experimental values better than those calculated by the existing equilibrium sorption code. When an EDTA solution was used as a solvent to decontaminate Co$^{2+}$ in the soil column, the relative Co$^{2+}$ concentrations of the effluent were higher at 2~10 pore volumes than those of the case using water. The soil in the column was decontaminated by 95.5% of the total amount of Co$^{2+}$ after being flushed with EDTA solution of 20 pore volumes.e volumes.

In this paper, the electron transport characteristic in CF$_4$has been analysed over the E/N range 1~300(Td) by a two-term approximation Boltzmann equation method and by a Monte Carlo simulation. The alteration of cross sections from the literature is avoided as much as possible in the analysis. The motion has been calculated to give swarm parameters for the electron drift velocity(W), diffusion coefficient(D$_{L}$), the ratio of the diffusion coefficient to the mobility(D$_{L}$/$\mu$), mean energy($\varepsilon$), the electron energy distribution function. The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in CF$_4$at E/N=50, 100 and 200(Td) for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy. The results of Boltzmann equation and Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with experimental data by Y. Nakamura and M. Hayashi.shi.
The effect of surface free energy on the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of carbon black/thermoplastic resin composites was investigated. The thermoplastic resins such as EVA, LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE were used with the addition of 30 wt.% of the carbon black. The surface free energy of the composites was studied in the context of two-liquid contact angle measurements, i.e., deionized water and diiodomethane. It was observed that the resistivity on PTC composites Was greatly increased near the crystalline melting temperature, due to the thermal expansion of polymeric matrix. From the experimental results, it was proposed that the decrease of surface free energy induced by interactions between carbon black surfaces and polymer chains is an important factor to the fabrication of a PTC composite made of carbon black and polymeric matrix.
This study was carried out to elucidate the relationship between different fat levels (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%) and the quality of ground pork patties cooked to reach an internal temperature of $75^{\circ}C$ in a microwave oven. The relationship between fat level and cooking rate of pork patties cooked by microwave energy was highly significant ($R^2=0.72$), and had a low determination coefficient ($R^2=0.55$). The relationship between fat level and total cooking loss of pork patties cooked by microwave energy was also very significant, with a high correlation coefficient of $R^2=0.89$. The correlation coefficient between fat level and cooking drip loss of patties cooked by microwave energy was 0.92, which was highly significant. Although the correlation coefficient between fat level and evaporation loss had a negative value ($R^2=-0.63$), there was a highly significant relationship between fat level and shear force of pork patties cooked by microwave energy.

In this study, we investigated the genetic variation in the general of monocot model plant (rice) in response to various ionizing irradiations including gamma-ray, ion beam and cosmic-ray. The non-irradiated and three irradiated (200 Gy of gamma-ray and 40 Gy of ion beam and cosmic-ray) plants were analyzed by AFLP technique using capillary electrophoresis with ABI3130xl genetic analyzer. The 29 primer combinations tested produced polymorphism results showing a total of 2,238 bands with fragments sizes ranged from 30 bp to 600 bp. The number of polymorphism generated by each primer combinations was varied significantly, ranging from 2 (M-CAC/E-ACG) to 158 (M-CAT/E-AGG) with an average of 77 bands. Polymorphic peaks were detected as 1,269 with an average of 44 per primer combinations. By UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Method using Arithmetic clustering) analysis method, the clusters were divided into non-irradiated sample and three irradiated samples at a similarity coefficient of 0.41 and three irradiation samples was subdivided into cosmic-ray and two irradiation samples (200 Gy of gamma-ray and 40 Gy of ion beam) at similarity coefficient of 0.48. Similarity coefficient values ranged from 0.41 to 0.55.
