Switching Surge Analysis of Vacuum Circuit breaker at the Power Plant distribution lines (발전소 비전계통 진공차단기의 스위칭 써지 해석)

  • The first objective of this study is to set up the switching surge analysis method in motor driving distribution system. The simplified model which can simulate the motor energization and circuit breaker re-ignitions, and each circuit element model is presented in this paper. The second objective is to calculate the quantify of surge over-voltage in real nuclear power station. And the surge suppressing measures are verified on the simulation basis. It is clarified that most cases are not satisfactory to meet the IEEE standard 522-1992 without using surge suppressing measures. In cases that the surge arrester are installed in distribution board at the load side of circuit breaker. The IEEE specification is fully met.

  • Since pulse energization can improve the performance of Electrostatic Precipitator(ESP) for high resistivity dusts, high voltage micro-pulse generators, 70kV 140usec duration pulses for instance, are commonly developed by LC resonance for most pulse powered ESPs. Consisting of discharge electrodes and collecting electrodes, ESP has its own capacitance like a capacitor. ESP's capacitance affects the LC resonance phenomenon with resonance inductor and capacitor of micro-pulse power supply, engineers should acquire the value of their ESP to design for proper power supply design.   • This phenomena of streaming-electrification is generated between solid and liquid boundary called electric double-layer which is generated by potential difference. A charge separation at interfaces between a moving fluid and a solid boundary can give rise to the generation of substantial electric field and at last these can give rise ta insulating failure. Therefore injection of the adverse-charge in streaming-electrified insulating oil to eliminate the accumulation charge and its related phenomena was investigated.

  • As rapid growth of energy demand in line with modern society's industrialization led to environmental pollution by fossil fuels, there are more and more interest and international research on energization of water, which is clean energy and comprising $70\%$ of earth. In offshore countries, the water is commercially used already and water has very attractive characteristics in terms of economy and efficiency compared to the existing gas welder. Brown Gas welder does not produce $CO_2$ from combustion of Hydrogen-Oxygen-Gas, which was gained by electrolysis of water, In this paper, the result from operating characteristic improvement of Gas Generator and Current-Controlled converter is to be considered into design in electrode, source/ controller, standized into level of whole system design base.

  • 산업공정에서 배출되는 입자상 오염물질은 인체 및 환경에 미치는 영향이 직접적이고 가시공해의 주된 원인이 되므로 인관 주민의 민원을 유발시키는 등 주요 지역현안 문제의 원인이 되고 있다. 먼지를 제거하기 위한 대표적인 기술로는 전기집진기, 여과집진기, 사이클론, 습식집진기를 들 수 있으며, 대규모 산업공정에서는 정전기적 힘에 의해 집진하는 전기집진기가 일반적으로 적용되고 있다. 전기집진기는 비교적 높은 효율의 집진 성능을 보장하나 전력소모량이 비교적 많으며 미세먼지, 특히 고비저항을 가진 먼지의 제거효율이 낮다는 단점을 가지고 있다.   • The sharing of common corridors by electric power transmission lines and pipelines is becoming more common place. However, such corridor sharing can result in undesired coupling of electromagnetic energy from the power lines to the near facilities. During a fault on any of the transmission lines, energization of the earth by supporting structures near the fault can result in large voltages appearing locally between the earth and the steel wall of any nearby pipeline. This paper presents the outline of the tower footings for the transmission lines having been used in KEPCO and analyzes the earth resistance for operation method of the tower footing, that is contact presence for the anchor and reinforcing rob of the tower and foundation presence of the underground wiring.

  • In this study, we review the status of Southwest sea 2.5GW offshore wind project and expected various problems. And we suggest government policies for offshore wind industrialization. Especially, we would like to mention the necessity of offshore wind development in order to diversify power sources and guarantee energy security in Korea. And we would like to mention necessity and direction to make offshore wind into growth engine industry thorough fusion between industries and energization for the existing industry such as civil, shipbuilding, steel, etc. that was headed into downturn.

Correlative Changes between Photosynthetic Activities and Chlorophyll Fluorescence in Wheat Chloroplasts Exposed to High Temperature

  • Correlative changes between photosynthetic O2 exchange rates and room temperature Chl fluorescence were investigated in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) chloroplasts treated with high temperature for 5 min. With increasing treatment temperature, photosynthetic O2 evolution rate mediated by PSII was decreased, showing 50% inhibition at 38$^{\circ}C$ (I50). But PSI activity measured by O2 uptake rates was stimulated as a function of increasing temperature. Dark level fluorescence (Fo)-temperature (T) analysis showed that fluorescence rising temperature (Tr), critical temperature (Tc), and peak temperature (Tp) was 38, 43, and 52$^{\circ}C$, respectively. Quenching analysis of Chl fluorescence showed that both the oxidized fraction of plastoquinone (qQ) and degree of thylakoid membrane energization (qNP) increased up to 4$0^{\circ}C$ and then declined dramatically. These results suggest that Tr is correlated with temperature showing a 50% of inhibition of photosynthesis and under mild high temperature stress, qNP is worth regarding as indicator for heat-induced damage of photosynthesis.

Simulation study on the nonlinear evolution of EMIC instability

  • Charged particle energization is an outstanding problem in space physics. This paper investigates the nonlinear dynamics of Alfve'n-cyclotron waves accompanying particle heating processes and the drift Alfv'en-cyclotron (or EMIC) instability associated with a current disruption event on 29 January 2008 observed with THEMIS satellite by means of a particle-in-cell simulation. The simulation shows that the drift Alfv'en-cyclotron instabilities are excited in two regimes, a relatively low frequency mode propagating in a quasi-perpendicular direction while the second high-frequency branch propagating in a predominantly parallel propagation direction, which is consistent with observation as well as earlier theories. It is shown that parametric decay processes lead to an inverse cascade of Alfv'en-cyclotron waves and the generation of ion-acoustic waves by decay instability. It is also shown that the nonlinear decay processes are accompanied by small perpendicular heating and parallel cooling of the protons, and a pronounced parallel heating of the electrons.
