SBM 고분자중합 바인더가 사용된 $TiO_2$ 광전극의 전기화학적 특성 (The electrochemical properties of $TiO_2$ photoanode using SBM co-polymer binders)

  • A new kind of SBM co-polymer binder as styrene, n-butyl acrylate, and methacrylic acid (SBM) monodisperse co-polymer binder materials basted on $TiO_2$ pastes was synthesized and this $TiO_2$ pastes were applied of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The SBM co-polymer binder was prepared by soap-free emulsion copolymerization using a PEG-EEM macromonomer. The photoanodes were characterized by morphology investigated from field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The photoelectrochemical properties of the thin films and the performance of DSSCs were measured by photovoltaic-current density. DSSC based on the emulsion co-polymer binder was obtained conversion efficiency of 7.1% under irradiation of AM 1.5($100mWcm^{-2}$).

유해오염물질에 급성 노출된 단각류 Monocorophium acherusicum의 지연 사망률에 관한 연구 (Delayed Mortality of Benthic Amphipods Monocorophium acherusicum Exposed to Various Pollutants in Seawater(Cd, Cu, Hg, TBT, Ammonia and Phenanthrene))

  • 다양한 유해오염물질에 급성 노출된 단각류 Monocorphium acherusicum의 노출 기간 이후에 발생하는 지연 사망(latent mortality)이 반수치사농도(LC5O)산출에 어떤 영향을 미치는 지를 규명하기 위한 일련의 실험이 수행되었다. 본 연구에서는 실험생물을 카드뮴, 구리, 수은과 같은 중금속, tributyltin(TBT), 암모니아 그리고 방향성탄화수소인 phenanthrene에 각각 96시간 동안 노출시킨 후 깨끗한 해수에 옮겨 다시 6일 동안 배양하면서 사망률을 조사하였다. 실험결과 구리, TBT, 암모니아, phenanthrene과 같은 물질에 노출된 M. acherusicum의 사망률은 노출이 끝난 이후에도 계속적으로 증가하는 지연 사망이 관찰되었으며, 이에 따라 기존의 방법_으로 산출된 96-h LC50보다 지연 사망을 고려한 새로운 LC50이 크게 낮아지는 경향이 관찰되었다. 지연사망률을 고려하지 않은 기존의 독성시험 결과는 지연 사망의 영향을 반영하지 못하므로 실제 현장에서 발생할 수 있는 오염물질의 영향을 과소평가 할 가능성이 있다. 따라서 지연 사망률에 대한 고려는 실제 현장 개체군에 대한 유해오염물질의 영향을 보다 정화하게 예측하는 데에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • The TES (Thermal Energy Storage) cooling system utilizing cheaper off-peak electricity has been applied just for building air-conditioning currently and causes limitation of usage rate and inefficiency of national resources utilization. In this regard, more says the necessity to apply TES system in industrial cooling system which is longer using period and wider usage. In this study, we will approve the technical and economical improvement in efficiency of industrial cooling system applied TES system by utilizing cheaper off-peak electricity and it will attribute the promotion of TES system and stabilization of supply and demand of electric power by proving the necessity to develop more efficient industrial cooling system by combining TES system.

Acute Toxicity of Heavy Metals, Tributyltin, Ammonia and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons to Benthic Amphipod Grandidierella japonica

  • Benthic amphipod, Grandidierella japonica widely inhabits the Korean coastal waters and is developed as a standard test species for sediment toxicity tests. We exposed G. japonica to various pollutants including 4 kinds of inorganic metals (Ag, Cd, Cu and Hg), tributyltin [TBT], ammonia and 7 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) compounds (acenaphthene, chrysene, fluoranthene, fluorene, naphthalene, phenanthrene and pyrene) to estimate the no observed effect concentration (NOEC) and the median lethal concentration (LC50) of each pollutant during the 96-hour acute exposure. Among all tested pollutants, TBT was most toxic to G. japonica, and Rg was most toxic among inorganic metals. The toxicity of pyrene to G. japonica was greatest among PAH compounds, followed by fluoranthene, phenanathrene, acenaphthene, fluorene and naphthalene. The toxicity of PAH compounds was closely related to their physico-chemical characteristics such as $K_ow$ and water solubility. G. japonica responded adequately to pollutant concentrations and exposure durations, and the sensitivity of G. japonica to various inorganic and organic pollutants was generally comparable to other amphipods used as standard test species in ecotoxicological studies, indicating this species can be applied in the assessment of environments polluted by various harmful substances.

고농도 도공과 원지의 흡수특성이 인쇄모틀에 미치는 영향 - PEA Module를 이용한 인쇄모틀 평가 - (Effect of High Solid Coating and Water Absorption Uniformity of Base Paper on Print Mottle - Evaluation of print mottle with PEA module -)

  • PEA(Print Evenness Analyzer) Module can be utilized as a tool to evaluate print mottle. The tester is de-signed to measure the uniformity of liquid penetration into paper at very short contact time. To evaluate effects of base paper properties on print mottle, the experiments were performed with 3 types of base pa-per whose sizing degree, roughness and porosity were varied. Coated papers were produced with high solid coating color (70%) and low solid coating color (67%). Uniformity of water absorption into base paper and coated paper was measured with PEA. It was found that, in order to minimize print mottle, base paper shall be produced with a high sizing degree and low roughness and the concentration of coating color shall be kept as high as possible, providing that it has proper rheology properties for coating process.

  • In order to elucidate the effects of types and mixing ratio of GCC and clay, coating color concentration, and types of rheology modifiers on high solid coating, various coating colors were prepared, high shear viscosity was measured and then rheology of the coating colors was analyzed. Coating color concentration was able to be increased from 67% to 69% and from 68% to 71% with a higher GCC ratio and with the rheology modifier instead of the synthetic thickener, keeping similar or improved coating color rheology and coated paper quality. The rheological properties of high solid coating color were superior with smaller average particle sizes of clay and latex, wider size distribution of GCC and higher added amount of latex.

  • This paper confirms that high solid coating can increase coating speed and reduce drying cost. Low solid coating color with the synthetic thickener and high solid coating color with the rheology modifier and with higher ratio of GCC were prepared. Coated paper was then produced with an industrial coater, varying coating speed and dryer temperature in order to keep the moisture content of the coated paper constant. Coating color concentration was able to be increased from 66% to 69% and from 68% to 71% without an adverse effect on coating color rheology. With a help of the rheology modifier, the increased ratio of GCC in high solid coating did not show harmful effects on the coated paper quality.

다공성 소재 종류에 따른 예혼합 평판버너의 연소 및 열효율 특성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of Combustion and Thermal Efficiency for Premixed Flat Plate Burner Using a Porous Media)

  • 본 연구는 현재 콘덴싱 보일러에 많이 사용하는 다공성 소재중에서 메탈화이버(metal fiber, MF) 및 세라믹(ceramic, CM)으로 제작한 평판형 버너에 대해 연소 및 열특성을 비교 검토하고 그 결과를 향후 개발할 EGR(Exhaust gas recirculation) 콘덴싱 보일러에 적용할 버너 선정의 기초자료로 활용하는 것을 목적으로 한다. CO 배출량은 CM이 MF보다 높았고 NOx 배출량은 MF가 CM보다 높게 나타났다. 버너열량 변화시에는 버너열량이 클수록 효율이 높게 나타났으며 버너 소재별 열효율은 버너열량 변화와 관계없이 MF가 CM보다 높게 나타났다. 본 실험범위에서 KS B 기준과 EN 677기준을 근거로 비례제어, 열효율, CO 및 NOx 배출량을 고려할 때 버너 소재는 MF가 적절하며 당량비는 0.8일때가 최적 운전조건으로 판단된다.

Cyanide-bridged Trinuclear and Ethylenediamine-bridged One-dimensional Cobalt(III)-Manganese(II) Complexes: Synthesis, Crystal Structures and Magnetic Properties

  • Two pyridinecarboxamide cobalt dicyanide building blocks and Mn(III) compounds have been employed to assemble cyanide-bridged heterometallic complexes, resulting in three trinuclear cyanide-bridged $Co^{III}-Mn^{II}$ complexes: $\{[Mn(MeOH)_4][Co(bpb)(CN)_2]_2\}{\cdot}2MeOH{\cdot}2H_2O$ (1), $\{[Mn(MeOH)_4][Co(bpmb)(CN)_2]_2\}{\cdot}2MeOH{\cdot}2H_2O$ (2) and $\{[Mn(DMF)_2(en)_2][Co(bpb)(CN)_2]_2\}{\cdot}2DMF{\cdot}H_2O$ (3) ($bpb^{2-}$ = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate, $bpmb^{2-}$ = 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)-4-methyl-benzenate, en = ethylenediamine). Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows their similar sandwich-like structures, in which the two cyanide-containing building blocks act as monodentate ligands through one of their two cyanide groups to coordinate the Mn(II) center. For complex 3, it was further linked into one-dimensional structure by ethylenediamine acting as bridges. Investigation of the magnetic properties of complex 3 reveals weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the neighboring Mn(II) centers through the bridging ethylenediamine molecule. A best-fit to the magnetic susceptibilities of complex 3 gave the magnetic coupling constant J = -0.073(2) $cm^{-1}$.

폐니켈수소전지로부터 희토류 산화물 분말의 회수에 대한 연구 (A study on recovery of rare earth oxide powders from waste NiMH batteries)

  • 폐니켈수소전지에 함유되어 있는 희토류를 회수하기 위하여 $H_2SO_4$로 침출한 용액에 10 M NaOH를 첨가하여 희토류를 pH 2.0 이하에서 약 98 % 침전시켰다. 이후 회수된 희토류 복합 침전물은 $800^{\circ}C$에서 4시간 동안 열처리를 통해 $HNO_3$에 대한 침출률을 증가시켰으며, 희토류 복합 침전물이 용해된 용액에 oxalic acid를 첨가하여 2차 침전을 실시하였다. 재침전된 희토류는 다시 $800^{\circ}C$에서 4시간 열처리를 통해 산화물 형태로 변환되었으며, 이때 희토류 산화물의 순도는 약 99.5 %를 나타내었다.
