  • In this paper, we proposed a method for Video-based point cloud compression reference software TMC2 encoder with an option for empty partitions in point cloud encoding. This encoder option allows tile initialization and process for an empty partition. The proposed method provides the TMC2 encoder the robustness to process dynamic point clouds.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to suggest the policy for the effective utilization of empty classrooms in elementary school. The empty classroom in this study means the classroom that is not used now since the number of students decreases, but can be usable for other needs in future. The following results are obtained through this survey; 1) about forty percent of classrooms are empty classrooms, 2) the ratio of empty classrooms is higher in urban area than rural area, 3) the smaller the size of classroom is, the higher the ratio is, and 4) 56.5% of the schools have one to three empty classrooms and 30.0% have four to six empty classrooms. In conclusion it is suggested that 1) the reutilization plan of empty classrooms be established according to particular situation of each school, 2) the government develop the guidelines for reutilization and administrative procedures for renewal, 3) the reutilization plan be established from the view point of the quality improvement of schooling, and 4) the enlargement and rearranagemt of learning space be considerd when reutilization is planned.

  • A new algorithm for planning a collision-free path is developed based on linear prametric curve. In this paper robot is assumed to a point, and two linear parametric curve is used to construct a path connecting start and goal point, in which single intermediate connection point between start and goal point is considered. The intermediate connection point is set in polar coordinate(${\theta}{\delta}$) , and the interference between path and obstacle is mapped into CPS(connection point space), which is defined a CWS GM(circular work space geometry mapping). GM of all obstacles in workspace creates overlapping images of obstacle in CPS(Connection Point Space). The GM for all obstacles produces overlapping images of obstacle in CPS. The empty area of CPS that is not occupied by obstacle images represents collision-free paths in Euclidian Space. A GM based on connection point in elliptic coordinate(${\theta}{\delta}$) is also developed in that the total length of path is depend only on the variable .delta.. Hence in EWS GM(elliptic work space geometry mapping), increasing .delta. and finding the value of .delta. for collision-free path, the shortest path can be searched without carring out whole GM. The GM of obstacles expersses all possible collision-free path as empty spaces in CPS. If there is no empty space available in CPS, it indicates that path planning is not possible with given number of connection points, i.e. path planning is failed, and it is necessary to increase the number of connection point. A general case collision-free path planning is possible by appling GM to configuration space obstacles. Simulation of GM of obstacles in Euclidian space is carried out to measure performance of algorithm and the resulting obstacle images are reported.

  • The impact of Empty Space layer in the channel region of a Double Gate (i.e. ESDG) MOSFET has been studied, by monitoring the DC, RF as well as the digital performance of the device using ATLAS 3D device simulator. The influence of temperature variation on different devices, i.e. Double Gate incorporating Empty Space (ESDG), Empty Space in Silicon (ESS), Double Gate (DG) and Bulk MOSFET has also been studied. The electrical performance of scaled ESDG MOSFET shows high immunity against Short Channel Effects (SCEs) and temperature variations. The present work also includes the linearity performance study in terms of $VIP_2$ and $VIP_3$. The proper bias point to get the higher linearity along with the higher transconductance and device gain has also been discussed.

  • In this paper, real-time polygon generation algorithm of 3D point cloud data and texture mapping for tele-operation is proposed. In a tele-operation, it is essential to provide more highly realistic visual information to a tele-operator. By using 3D point cloud data, the tele-operator can observe the working environment from various view point with a reconstructed 3D environment. However, there are huge empty space in 3D point cloud data, since there is no environmental information among the points. This empty space is not suitable for an environmental information. Therefore, real-time polygon generation algorithm of 3D point cloud data and texture mapping is presented to provide more highly realistic visual information to the tele-operator. The 3D environment reconstructed from the 3D point cloud data with texture mapped polygons is the crucial part of the tele-operation.

  • Flexural behavior of thin walled steel-concrete composite sections as cross sections for beams is investigated by conducting an experimental study supported by applicable analytical predictions. The experimental study consists of testing up to failure, simply supported beams of effective span 1440 mm under two point loading. The test specimens consisted of composite box and channel (with lip placed on tension side and compression side) sections, the behavior of which was compared with companion empty sections. To understand the role of shear connectors in developing the composite action, some of the composite sections were provided with novel simple bar type and conventional bolt type shear connectors in the shear zone of beams. Two RCC beams having equivalent ultimate moment carrying capacities as that of composite channel and box sections were also considered in the study. The study showed that the strength to weight ratio of composite beams is much higher than RCC beams and ductility index is also more than RCC and empty beams. The analytical predictions were found to compare fairly well with the experimental results, thereby validating the applicability of rigid plastic theory to cold-formed steel concrete composite beams.

  • This paper presents the Stone Influence, the Influence Point, and the Influence Area on computer Go. The Stone Influence is defined using the distance between stone and empty point. The Influence Point is defined using threshold value on the Stone Influence. The Influence Area is defined using lump of the Influence Points and its Core. In experiments using the Jeongseok data, the author obtained the threshold of Influence Points. The proposed method was verified by experiments where it was success fully applied to the influence in game of Go.

  • We define a SG(String Graph) and an ASG(Alive String Graph) to the purpose to do static analysis. For a life and death judgment, we apply the rule to the situation which the stone is included and not included. We define the rules that are SR(String Reduction), ER(Empty Reduction), ET(Edge Transform), and CG(Circular Graph), when the stone is not included. We define the rules that are DESR(Dead Enemy Strings Reduction) and SCSR(Same Color String Reduction), when the stone is included. We evaluate a SG that it is an ASG or not by using rules. And we use APC(Articulation Point Check) nile according to number of articulation points lot a life and death judgment. The performance of our method has been tested on the problem set IGS_31_counted form the Computer Go Test Collection. The test set contains 11,191 Points and 1,123 Strings. We obtain 92.5% accuracy of Points and 95.7% accuracy of Strings.
