A Study on the Impact of Employee's Awareness about Corporate Social Responsibility on Innovative Behavior ; Targeting Frontline Employees in the Hotel Industry

  • This study is designed to investigate the impact of employee's awareness about corporate social responsibility on innovative behavior among frontline employees in the hotel industry. In addition, the present study seeks to demonstrate whether employees awareness about corporate social responsibility or innovative behavior varies according to gender, age, education level and employment type. In order to achieve the study goal, the data were obtained from frontline employees(Rooms division, F&B division) working in the 5-star hotels. And the data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis were undertaken using SPSS(18.0). The results showed that gender, age and employment type were not significant factors to generate differences on awareness about corporate social responsibility. But the higher educated employee was likely to perceive the awareness about corporate social responsibility better. Employee's innovative behavior varied on all of gender, age, education level and employment type. In other words, employee who is male, in the older age group, in the higher educated level and the full-time position tends to do more innovative behavior. Implications based on the study results are also discussed.

재래시장 종사자의 소방안전의식에 관한 연구 - 마산지역을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Recognition of Fire Safety of Traditional Market Employee: Focusing on Masan City)

  • 본 연구는 마산지역 재래시장 종사자를 대상으로 소방안전에 관한 인식을 조사하여 소방안전의 기초 자료를 제공하기 위하여 수행되었으며, 연구결과 재래시장 종사자는 소방안전에 대해 높은 관심을 가지고 있으며 재래시장에서 화재가 일어날 가능성이 높다고 인식하였다. 또한 재래시장 종사자의 46.0%가 소방안전교육을 받은 것으로 조사되었으며, 교육장소로는 시장내 자치상인회를 선호하였다. 화재발생시 피난로는 재래시장 종사자의 41.5%가 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 재래시장의 화재예방을 위하여 방화관리자의 적극적인 활동과 소방서의 지속적인 화재점검이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

  • This study concerns the importance of internal marketing, employee's attitude, and customer orientation through the change of port industry and the operational condition of domestic container terminals. In accordance with this, the structural relationship among variables, which are internal marketing, employee's attitude and customer orientation in container terminals need to be acknowledged to secure competitive advantage and to maintain continuous transaction relationship with customer through the empirical research. The purpose of this study is to firstly, understand the current facilities and situation of container terminals in Busan port, and its changing environment of port industry. Secondly, provide basic information through the seeking whether the concept of internal marketing is able to apply into port industry. Thirdly, establish the theoretical system through the literature consideration on internal marketing, employee's attitude and customer orientation in container terminals. Finally, draw useful suggestions for managing container terminals through the structural relationship among variables, which are internal marketing, employee's attitude and customer orientation in container terminals.

근로자가 인식한 교육훈련 프로그램 특성이 조직유효성 및 직무성과에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Educational Training Program Traits Perceived by Employee on Organizational Effectiveness and Job Performance)

  • Using data from 286 employees who were working in medium and small company in Busan, the study analyzed the influence of educational training program traits perceived by employee on organizational effectiveness and job performance. The main results were as the followings. First, for organizational effectiveness, job relation and objective setting among educational training program traits had statistically significant influence on job satisfaction and involvement in organization after controlling the employee's characteristics. Second, for job performance, after controling the employee's characteristics, job relation, educational method, educational training environment, and objective setting had statistically significant influence on active participation, the improvement of task performance ability and confidence, or professional knowledge improvement. Additionally, among the employee's characteristics, the number of educational training participation was statistically significant predictor for job performance. Based on the main results, some suggestions and the limitations of the study were discussed.

조직내 비공식 교육훈련특성이 구성원의 창의성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of characteristics of Informal Education on Employee's Creativity : Some evidence from Korean Post Business)

  • Building on previous literature of human resource management and development, this paper investigates the effect of various characteristics of informal education a firm offers on employees' individual creativity. we identify quantity, quality, and variety as three critical components of informal educational and training circumstances. Data from a multi-informant survey conducted to 442 employees in Korean postal service show that a firm's informal educational training has significant effects on its employee creativity. The results indicate that enough high quality of program, various training method have a positive relationship with his/her individual creativity although time and opportunity don't have an critical impact on employee creativity. This study highlights the importance of a firm's informal education in terms of motivation and skills, and helps to explain individual discrepancies in creativity.

병원조직 구성원의 교육훈련 만족도 결정요인 (Factors Associated with Employee Satisfaction on Training & Education Programs in General Hospitals)

  • 이 연구는 병원조직 구성원들의 교육훈련 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 실증적으로 분석함으로써 경영성과를 높이기 위한 교육훈련체계의 발전방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 4개 종합병원에 근무하고 있는 490명을 대상으로 설문을 실시한 결과, 병원의 교육훈련 만족도는 인구통계학적 특성에 따라 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 교육훈련 만족도에는 직무특성과 조직효과성이 통계적으로 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로, 교육에 대한 기대, 직무특성, 조직효과성이 교육훈련 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 자아효능감의 조절효과를 살펴본 결과, 교육에 대한 기대와 자아효능감의 조절효과가 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 효과적인 교육프로그램 개발을 위한 실천적 함의를 논하였다.

  • A Study on the strategic methods for internal marketing of Family Restaurant. We know that customer satisfaction in measuring the effect of marketing performance on employees in service industry. There are four strategies of internal marketing for service-employee, which are participation-promotion and manner-management of employee, classification to employee, communication strategy, motivation environment for employee. First, communication, sales and service technology of employee can be developed and improved through the education and training. Second, company can make better achievement by classifying life-style and individual desire. Third, communication strategy can improve service quality by development of team-work through the confidence and joint-responsibility. Fourth. the company make environment which employee can compete by offering incentive fairly and properly. In the conclusion, when employees serve customers in a depressed attitude, they neglect service process and bring about customer non-satisfaction. This have negative effect on external customer satisfaction in the short term. And so that customer-satisfaction can't exist without employee-satisfaction. that is job-satisfaction is the goal of company. therefore study about internal marketing action should be go on.

고객만족교육에서 서비스몰입에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 금융기관 종사자를 중심으로 (A Study on the Factor Affecting the Service Commitment in Customer Satisfaction Education: Focused on Financial Institute Employee)

  • Purpose: Financial institute employees have various education programs for enhancing customer satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to explore critical factors that affect the service commitment in the financial institution and to propose the implication for employee's service involvement. Methods: This study is intended to identify how service quality of education, servicescape, and learning motivation affect the service commitment. The research model proposed in this study is tested via a survey of 322 employees for financial institution employees. Results: This study shows that tangibles, reliability, assurance and ambient condition, physical structure, symbolic artifacts and internal motivation, extrinsic motivation significantly influence education satisfaction. Tangibles, reliability and ambient condition, physical structure, symbolic artifacts and internal motivation significantly influence affective service orientation and that tangibles, reliability, assurance and extrinsic motivation significantly influence altruistic service orientation. It also verifies that education satisfaction affective service orientation, and altruistic service orientation positively affect service commitment. Conclusion: This study suggests critical factors to promote service commitment in the financial institute. It has focused on not only the service quality of education program, but also servicescape and learning motivation as the meaningful factors for increasing the employee's service involvement.

Role-Play Training Factors that Positively Influence Training Satisfaction and Customer Service Orientation

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of effective role-play and training on employee education satisfaction and customer orientation. Evidence of the suggested objective is obtained by monitoring the effectiveness of hotel service training. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected from 280 role-play sessions performed in a Korean Hotel and examined using a frequency analysis, reliability/validity assessments, correlation analysis, and regression analysis using SPSS 19.0. Results - 1) Entrepreneurs and training instructors should enthusiastically apply service education in order to enhance each employee d evaluation in terms of customer satisfaction and customer orientation. 2) The most effective factor on customer satisfaction and orientation is the instructor's qualifications. 3) Since a higher level of education-training satisfaction leads to better customer orientation, effective education-training is essential to achieve this result. Conclusions - The study was able to obtain practical evidence that can confirm that service education-training through role-play positively affects employee customer service orientation. In future advanced research on training effects on customer orientation, various internal factors of a business should also be considered.

외환위기 이후 가구주의 종사상지위 변화유형이 가계소득증감여부에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Worker Status Change Type of the Household Heads on Household Income Since Korean Financial Crisis-excel)

  • This study examined the effects of household head’s worker status change type on household income and household head’s income using a total combined sample of 2,578 households from Korea surveyed in 1998 and 2002 KLIPS(Korean Labor and Income Panel Study). Binary logit regression results showed that household incomes were likely to decrease significantly when household head’s changed worker status from a regular employee, a temporary employee or a daily worker, or an employer or a self-employed to no job status, or from a regular employee to a temporary employee or a daily worker, an employer or a self-employed, or from an employer or a self-employed to a regular employee compared to a regular employee status maintenance. In contrast, household head’s incomes were likely to increase significantly when household head’s changed worker status from a temporary to a regular employee compared to a regular employee status maintenance. Women household heads were significantly associated with the likelihood of the decrease of household head’s income compared to men household heads. Household heads beyond their forties were significantly associated with the likelihood of the decrease of household head’s income compared to household heads in their thirties age-group counterparts. Household heads with education level beyond high school graduation were significantly associated with the likelihood of the increase of household head’s income compared to household heads with the education level of high school graduation. This study shows that a more comprehesive labor policy is needed for achieving sustainable household income inflow.
